Father's Day 2011

Derek, my handsome studdly hubby, in his Grandpa Clarks jacket! He got those new pants, belt and shoes!
The best father to Jocelyn and he's so excited for Kristiana! :D
ME, 38 weeks prego with a lot of amniotic fluid in there! Only hours away from a csection! Tues 930am! 6.21.11
Jocelyn almost a big sister! And one week from turning 3! She also loved celebrating Father's Day and having  my mom arrive!

My mom and dad are officially here! My Dad was able to help a friend drive a moving truck from Fresno to Utah so he's here for the birth! YAY! My Dad leaves Wed but will at least be able to see Kristiana! And my Mom stays for 2 weeks!

That's about it for now! So long to pregnancy! Here comes the Williams, PARTY OF 4!

6 days and counting

In 6 days or less Jocelyn's lil sister will be here! We are all so thrilled! Can't wait to see who she looks like and to hold her in my arms in stead of my belly :]

As you may recall, I have gestational diabetes and have been monitored very closely! I have had a hefty amount of amniotic fluid but nothing problematic 24cm. She's been in the 75% for size: so bigger than average but not too large. I was due July 3rd but as we have gotten closer the high risk doctors think that it will be best to have her out before then. That's why my c-section date keeps moving forward. Now, I had a c-section with Jocelyn because after a 2 day induction she wouldn't drop because she was sunny side up. The real negative about that c-section is that because only half of my body would numb I had to be completely knocked out. So I didn't wake up a good 2 hours after she was born and I don't have a vivid memory of the first time seeing her or holding her. :(

So I made sure to select a doctor and hospital that will do VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section). This has been the plan and goal the whole pregnancy! Even though it makes me terrified to have to push a watermelon out of a grape! But I remind myself of how many other women have done it  :> haha SO the reason I have a scheduled c-section is because they don't want her to get too big, they don't want my placenta to give out (since it's not working right with the insulin/ sugars=diabetes) I have had weekly Non-Stress Tests and the last  month I've gone 2x a week! It's actually a nice little relaxation time. I lay there for 20 minutes while they have two monitors on my tummy. One for baby's heart rate and the other to monitor contractions (if I was having any) They also check my heart rate and blood pressure each time. Everything has been perfect in all those areas! :> And it's fun to see my baby girls face every time they take a quick look at her with an ultrasound.

But YESTERDAY I had a full blown ultrasound to guesstimate her size, check her organs and make sure she's doing ok. They say their prediction of weight can be off 1lb up or down so it's not totally accurate... but she is predicted to be 8lbs and 9oz RIGHT NOW! WOW! So another reason I can't wait full term to have her. :> I had 30cm of amniotic fluid! So that's gone up and is a lot. And when my doc measured my tummy on the outside, I measured at 44 weeks prego (a month overdue! haha) This simply proves I have a lot of fluid and a big girl in there. I have another NST this Friday. If anything comes up to be concerning I will have a c-section that afternoon! But if everything is fine we will still wait until June 21st at 930am! My Mom arrives Saturday so I'm ready to go at any point! :> I love my mama and want her here with me! xox

After my ultrasound yesterday, I had my regular doctor's apt (it was quite a hospital date!) She checked me and I am dilated to a 1. That's it. hahaha But I am completely thinned. So there has been a little progression! If I can get dilated enough my doctor will break my water and see if I can go into labor on my own. But we are at a 50/50 chance of me actually having a successful VBAC. Which is bittersweet. This is my only chance to have one. Once you have 2 c-sections you can't do a VBAC. And it does limit the number of kids you can have. Diabetic Babies usually have wide shoulders so that adds to the complications of a VBAC. So my goal is to walk around Bountiful a lot this week... and since it's all hills! I can only hope that will help me contact and dilate. :>

I have to be honest. Having a c-section isn't my first choice but I am ok with it. I've done it before. There is pain in recovery but either way the baby comes out you're in pain a while, right?! I was the best and safest delivery of our lil lady! Whichever way that is!

We will try to keep you all posted! Hopefully Derek can make sure he has both of his phones and my changer :> I'm trying to have enough energy to clean up my home and prep for her arrival. I'm so grateful for all the friends and family that have helped watch Jocelyn and offered to help as I go into the hospital. THANK YOU!

One concern I've had is that these girls wont share the same exact birthday! Jocelyn will be 3 in 2 weeks! June 25th is her bday! It's looking like they'll be exactly 3 years & 4 days apart. How's that for timing. haha At least there are a few days in between!

Happy Father's Day to all the men out there! I'm grateful for my Daddy and for Derek being such a great Dad! I'm blessed to have such great men in my life! I love them SO much! xox

That's a pretty LONG post! I'm over and out!
