Makeup Geek - Pigments (II)

¡Hola de nuevo, chicas!
Hoy vengo a hablaros de cuatro pigmentos de Makeup Geek, todos ellos veganos. Desaparecieron todas las fotos que tenía preparadas para el post, y por eso me he retrasado desde la última entrada, sorry!

Hello again, ladies! 
Today I come to show you four pigments from the brand Makeup Geek, all vegan! I lost all the pictures that I had prepared for the post, which is why I've delayed since last post, sorry!

El primero que voy a enseñados es Blitz, un marrón rojizo con shimmer.

The first one I'm gonna show you is Blitz, a reddish brown with shimmer.

Nightlife es un topo rosado, ideal para las amantes de los tonos neutros.

Nightlife is a pink taupe, ideal for neutral shade lovers.

Insomnia es un tono duocromo de base marrón rojiza con un reflejo verde azulado. Es clon del famoso pigmento Blue Brown de Mac.

Insomnia is a reddish brown based duochrome shade with a blue-teal reflection. It is a dupe of the famous Blue Brown pigment by Mac.

Utopia no tiene nada que ver con los anteriores, ya que en éste caso se trata de un pigmento con un gránulo mucho más "gordo", tipo glitter, por lo que recomiendo aplicarlo en mojado. Es un tono oro viejo oscuro con muchísimo brillo.

Utopia has nothing to do with the pigments above, since in this case it's a more 'chunky' pigment, so I recommend to apply this one wet only. 
It's a dark antique gold shade with duochrome glitter.

Aquí podéis ver swatches de los cuatro pigmentos aplicados en seco (menos Utopia). Impresionantes, ¿verdad?

Here you can see swatches of the four pigments applied dry (except Utopia). Breathtaking, aren't they?

Además, un problema que tenía con los pigmentos de Makeup Geek es que no llevan rejilla, y acababas perdiendo un montón de producto, pero por suerte venden ahora en su web packs de 5 por 0'75$.

Also, a problem that I had with the pigments by Makeup Geek is that they don't have sifters, and you ended up wasting a lot of product, but luckily they sell now in its web sites packs of 5 for $0.75.

El envío, como siempre, fue bastante rápido, teniendo en cuenta que viene desde E.E.U.U (esta vez tardó 11 días).
Al igual que los pigmentos de la marca que había probado anteriormente (y que podéis ver aquí), no decepcionan.

Empezaré por el esmalte que compré para la boda de mi prima, el 281 Mango. Es un tono precioso que iba a juego con las tiras del vestido. Ahora mismo lo tenéis en tiendas a 1'50€.

I will start with the nailpolish that I bought for my cousin's wedding, the 281 Mango. It's a beautiful shade that matched the dress straps. Right now, you have it in stores at a price of 1'50 €.

Es muy pigmentado, y cubre perfectamente con una capa.

It's very pigmented, and it covers the nail with just one layer.

Lo siguiente que compré es un pigmento de la colección Colors in the World, el 28 Sunny Coral, y si mal no recuerdo, me costó unos 2'90€.

The next thing I bought is a pigment from the Colors in the World collection, the 28 Sunny Coral, and if I recall, it cost about €2'90.

El bote contiene 6 gramos, y tiene un tono precioso, perfecto para verano. Por el precio que tiene ahora mismo, os recomendaría conseguirlo si todavía fuese posible. Podéis ver un swatch en movimiento en Instagram.

The pot contains 6 grams, and has a beautiful shade, perfect for summer. For the money they cost now, I recommend you to get it if it's still possible. You can see a moving swatch on Instagram.

Mi compra preferida fue el Long Lasting 28 Intentional Bright Ivory. Se trata de una sombra en stick en un tono beige con brillos dorados.

My favorite purchase was the Long Lasting 28 Intentional Bright Ivory. It is an eyeshadow stick in beige with gold glitter.

Da muchísima luminosidad a cualquier look, y queda muy natural. Lo utilizo tanto solo como de prebase para sombras, puesto que no me saca pliegues. De hecho, compré dos sticks iguales, puesto que al ser de colección, van a ser retirados. Cada uno costó 3'40€.

It gives lots of luminosity to any look, and is very natural. I use it either alone or as a primer for eyeshadows, since it stays without creasing. In fact, I bought two sticks the same shade, since being a collection, they will be discontinued. Each one cost €3'40.

También compré un Glow Touch Lips & Cheeks en el tono 02 Icy Watermelon. La lata era una auténtica pesadilla, tuve que pasar un par de días abriendo y cerrando la lata hasta que conseguí que fuese más fácil, puesto que están durísimas.

I also bought a Glow Touch Lips & Cheeks in the shade 02 Icy Watermelon. The can was a real nightmare, I had to spend a couple of days opening and closing the can until it started to be easier, since they are so harsh.

El producto sirve tanto para labios como para mejillas, y deja un aspecto muy jugoso en la piel. Los tenéis ahora por 2'90€.

You can use this product both on lips and cheeks, and it looks quite juicy on the skin. The now have €2'90.

Por último, aproveché que tenían la Super Color Mascara 09 a 2€, y me la llevé para probar, puesto que tuve una morada, pero se me secó en apenas una semana. Creo que es de colección, porque en la web sólo aparece hasta el número 08. Las Super Color Mascara, con el 30%, se os quedarían a 4'13€. Podéis ver cómo quedan en Instagram.

Finally, since they had the Super Color Mascara 09 at 2 €, I bought it to try, since I had the purple one, but it got dry in just one week. I think that it it's from a collection, because on the website I just can see this mascaras 'till the 08. The Super Color Mascaras, with the 30% off, would cost €4'13. Makeup Geek - Pigments

Hoy traigo por fin una entrada que sé que muchas esperábais: se trata de los swatches de mis pigmentos de Makeup Geek, los cuales son todos veganos. Como muchas sabréis, la marca Makeup Geek añadió a su lista de productos, hace relativamente poco, los pigmentos. Hoy os enseño por fin los seis que yo tengo, ¡espero que os gusten!

Today finally bring you a review that I know many of you expected: the swatches of my Makeup Geek pigments, which all of them are vegan. As many know, the brand Makeup Geek added relatively recently to their list of products, the pigments. Today I'm finally showing you the six that I own, and I hope you like them!

Venían todos perfectamente embalados y protegidos, por lo que durante el viaje a nuestra casa, el producto no corre peligro de abrirse ni contaminarse. Están libres de talco, y aunque marca 1.5 gramos, contienen unos 2 gramos de producto.

They came all neatly packaged and protected, so that during the trip to our home, the product is not in danger of being opened or contamination. They are talc-free, and even the brand marks them as 1.5 grams, the jars contain about 2 grams of product.

En la parte trasera de los mismos podemos ver la cantidad y el nombre de los pigmentos. En las fotos podéis ver cuáles se vinieron a casa conmigo. Me quedé con muchísimas ganas del pigmento Insomnia (clon del Blue Brown de Mac), que en ese momento estaba fuera de stock. Otros pigmentos "famosos" que no tengo son el Utopia (similar al Reflects Antique Gold de Mac), y el Liquid Gold.

At the back part of the packaging we can see the amount and the name of the pigments. In the pictures you can see which ones came home with me. I was really looking forward for the Insomnia pigment (Mac's Blue Brown dupe), which at the time was out of stock. Other "famous" pigments dad I don't have include Utopia (similar to Mac's Reflects Antique Gold), and Liquid Gold.

La gran pega que le pongo al packaging es que viene sin ningún tipo de tapita protectora una vez retiramos la tapa de rosca, por lo que es muy fácil que el producto acabe volando por encima de la mesa. En la foto de abajo podéis ver los tonos con flash.

The big complaint I have about the packaging is that it comes without any protective cap once the screw cap is removed, so it is very easy to end up having some product flying above the table. In the photo below you can see the shades with flash.

Birthday Wish es un tono naranja melocotón con shimmer dorado.

Birthday Wish is a peachy orange with gold shimmer.

Enchanted es un tono ciruela claro con destellos.

Enchanted is a light plum with shimmer.

New Years Eve es un tono beige con multitud de destellos dorados.

New Years Eve is a beige shade with lots of golden shimmer.

Sweet Dreams es un must. Se trata de un color piel de subtono rosado con un shimmer muy fino. Recuerda mucho al pigmento Naked de Mac

Sweet Dreams is a must. It is a flesh toned beige pink with slight simmer. It is very similar to Mac's Naked pigment.

Paparazzi es un gris ahumado con glitter, que personalmente me recuerda a un cielo estrellado.

Paparazzi is a glittery smokey grey, which personally reminds me to a beautiful starry sky.

Prince Charming es un tono plata metalizado.

Prince Charming is a metallic cool silver.

Aquí podéis ver los swatches sin ningún tipo de prebase, para que veáis como funciona el producto sin ayudas. Para potenciar los colores, podemos utilizar el Mixing Solution de Kiko, agua, o algún tipo de prebase. Para los pigmentos con más glitter recomendaría el uso de una prebase con algo de pegamento, tipo el Glitter Glue de Too Faced.

Here you can see the swatches without any primer, so you can see how the product works without any kind of help. To enhance the color, we can use the Mixing Solution by Kiko, water, or any kind of eye-primer. For the pigments with more glitter, I would recommend the use of a primer with some glue, like the Glitter Glue by Too Faced.

En la propia web encontraremos swatches de todos los productos. Como podéis ver, el color es más potente, ya que imagino que habrán sido aplicados con agua o un producto tipo el Mixing Solution, que es como se recomienda aplicar los pigmentos. Todos los tonos son increíbles, ¿no os parece?

In Makeup Geek's website you could find swatches of all their products. As you can see, the color is more powerful, and I imagine that they have been applied with water or a some kind of Mixing Solution, which is how we should apply the pigments. All shades are amazing, don't you think so?

El envío, como siempre, fue bastante rápido, teniendo en cuenta que vienen desde E.E.U.U. Tengo pendiente la entrada en la que os enseñaré las 5 nuevas sombras que sacaron a la venta, que son una preciosidad.
Creo que las fotos hablan por sí solas, os recomiendo sus pigmentos al 100%.

Haul Illamasqua - Julio 2013 (Parte I)

¡Por fin empiezan las vacaciones! (al menos para mi...)
Siento muchísimo haber tenido el blog abandonado, pero he querido centrarme en los exámenes, ¡pero ya estoy de vuelta!
Hoy os traigo un pedido conjunto a Illamasqua. La mitad de los productos del haul no son míos, pero su dueña me ha dejado amablemente grabarlos y fotografiarlos para vosotras (subiré vídeos con swatches en movimiento de los mismos al canal de YouTube en unos días). Era un pedido que teníamos planeado desde hace mes y medio, pero no fue hasta el pasado fin de semana cuando por fin pude ponerle las garras  a todo encima. Como quería enseñar fotos comparativas de los productos, he preferido dividir la entrada en dos partes. En ésta primera incluiré los artículos que no pedí yo, y en la siguiente os enseñaré los míos. ¡Espero que os gusten!

I'm finally starting the holidays! 

I feel thrilled to have abandoned the blog, but I wanted to focus on exams without any other "distraction". I'm back now!

Today I bring my haul with a friend to Illamasqua. Half of the products from this haul are not mine, but her owner kindly let me record and photograph them for you (I'll upload videos with moving swatches to the YouTube channel in a few days). It was an order that we planned for a month and a half, but it was not until last weekend when I finally put the claws over our things. I wanted to show you comparison swatches of the products with other "similar" ones, so I prefer to split the haul into two parts. In this first part I will include the items that where not for me, and in a next post I'll show you mines. I hope you like!

Primero empezaré por una preciosa paleta que estuve a punto de comprar también, y me arrepentí enormemente de no hacerlo: se trata de la Complement Palette. He de adelantaros que todavía no tengo fotos de los swatches, puesto que olvidé sacarlas, y la dueña se la llevó ayer a casa, pero le pediré próximamente que la traiga para poder sacar las fotos oportunas y actualizaros la entrada. Mientras tanto podéis ver los swatches de Catanya's Things.
La paleta consta de tres sombras:
- Slink: un champagne suave con shimmer, perfecto para iluminar.
- Focus: una sombra en crema de un color marrón metálico.
- Forgiveness: un tono borgoña mate.
- Queen of the Night: un morado oscuro metalizado.
Las cuatro sombras tienen una pigmentación fantástica, y la paleta tiene un precio de £34.

I will begin first with a beautiful palette that I was about to buy too, and greatly regretted not doing it: it is the Complement Palette. 
I haven't got yet pictures of the swatches of this palette, since I forgot to do them, and the owner took it to her home yesterday, but I will ask her to bring the palette to my home soon to take pictures and show them to you. Meanwhile you can see swatches of Catanya's Things.

The palette has three eyeshadows:

- Slink: a soft champagne shimmer which is perfect for highlighting.

- Focus: a metallic brown cream eyeshadow.

- Forgiveness: a matte burgundy shade.

- Queen of the Night: a dark metallic purple.

The four shadows have great pigmentation, and the palette is priced at £34.

En cuanto a los labiales, yo sólo pedí el ESP (que también podéis ver en la foto). Son todos de una textura tipo cera bastante seca, aunque los colores son preciosos y muy intensos.

Regarding the lipsticks, I only ordered the ESP (which you can also see in the photo). They have all a waxy texture which seems quite dry, although the colors are beautiful and very intense.

La marca tiene una amplia variedad de tonos de lo más originales, y Flare y Over tienen un punto neón que no se aprecia en la foto. En cuanto a la aplicación, los que más uniformes quedan son Magnetism, Flare y Over, mientras que ESP parchea un poco, así que tendré que probar a aplicarlo sobre un lápiz de labios de un color similar o con un gloss encima. Cada uno de ellos tiene un precio de £16.50.

The brand has a wide variety of the most original shades, and Over and Flare look quite neon and bright in person. Regarding the application, the most uniform ones are Magnetism, Flare and Over, while ESP patches a bit, so I'll have to try to apply it over a lip pencil in a similar color or a gloss on top. Each one of this lipsticks is priced at £ 16.50.

Si ponemos el Flare de Illamasqua junto al Morange de Mac se puede apreciar un subtono más amarillento en mismo.

If we put together Illamasqua's Flare and Mac's Morange we would appreciate a more yellow undertone in it.

El labial más similar que he encontrado al Over de Illamasqua es el Peach 07 de Belle. Sin embargo, éste último es más rosado.

The most similar lipstick that I've found to Illamasqua's Over is Belle's Peach 07. However, Peach 07 is more pinkish.

El Magnetism, al colocarlo entre el Rebel y su cuasi-gemelo de H&M, tiene un punto mucho más rosado, y dependiendo de la luz, se ve mucho más rojizo/vino, como pudisteis apreciar en la foto comparativa que subí por Instagram.

Illamasqua's Magnetism, when placed between the Rebel and its near-twin by H&M, looks much pinker, and depending on the lighting, it looks much more red/wine, as you could see in the comparison picture that I uploaded to Instagram.

Aquí tenéis los tres labiales de María en su boca. Como veis, el Over es el que marca más las pielecillas, mientras que el Flare y el Magenta, a pesar de ser también secos, dejan un aspecto más uniforme.

Here you have Maria's lipsticks on her mouth. As you can see, Over looks more waxy than the others, while Flare and Magenta, besides being dry too, look more uniform on the lips.

El único pigmento que se compró fue el Dab. Yo quería hacerme con el Hollow para el contorno, pero en el momento de hacer el pedido estaba fuera de stock. Éstos pigmentos en crema están pensados para su uso en ojos, labios, cara y cuerpo, y tienen un precio de £17.50.
Al ser un producto en crema no quise "meter el dedazo" estando sin estrenar, pero luego lo probé con su dueña y el color queda exactamente tal y como se ve en la foto.

The only pigment that was purchased on this haul was Dab. I wanted to get my hands on Hollow for contouring, but at the time that we order it was out of stock. These cream pigments are designed to use on eyes, lips, face and body, and are priced at £17.50.
Being a cream product I did not wanted to "put my fingerprints" being new, but then I tried it with its owner, and the color is exactly what you in the picture.

El último producto de ésta entrada es el dúo de coloretes Katie/Ambition. Es un dúo perfecto para las amantes de los tonos rosados, y ambos quedan muy bonitos aplicados sobre la piel. Eso sí, Katie es un tono bastante pálido, por lo que no sé cómo quedará sobre una tez bronceada.
Hay otros dos dúos disponibles, y tienen un precio de £26.

The latest product of this entry is the powder blush duo in Katie/Ambition. It is a perfect duet for those who love pink blushes, and both look very nice applied to the skin. Yes, Katie is a pretty pale shade, so I do not know how it will look on a tanned complexion.
There are two other duos available, and are priced at £26.

La duración de los coloretes, por lo poco que he podido probar, es magnífica: sólo llevé uno de los míos un día, pero me aguantó las 9 horas que estuve maquillada intacto. Si bien el packaging es un poco abultado, y se puede hacer más incómodo que un colorete de Nars o Sleek, me parece que merecen mucho la pena.

The lasting of the blushes, from what I could try, is superb: I just wore one of mine one day, but it lasted the nine hours I had makeup on intact. While the packaging is a bit bulky, and can be more uncomfortable than Nars or Sleek, I think the blushes really deserve it.
