My Blue Blog....for now

So I changed the color of my blog to BLUE.
Perhaps I too have my blue days, but not in a sad way-just colorful. Have a bluetiful day.

(2011) Last year and one of my journals.

Here are a few pix of what was in last years journal. I have been reading and haven't had time to paint/draw, so I thought part of the the journal from last year could be shared. Hope it's okay with you.

Now back to my reading. I'm on the last book of this trilogy series. I hope it ends well for Christian and Ana.

HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL AND HAPPY PAINT PARTY FRIDAY.

Hump Day Haiku

Linking to Helen, Hump Day Haiku. It's been a busy weekend and beginning of the week, and I'm running slow and will catch up on everyone's blogs soon as time allows. If you get a chance, do a Haiku and stop by Helen's and post it. I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I'm also caught up in a reading frenzy on a book everyone is talking about. MY inquisitive mind got the best of me and I downloaded it to my Kindle, finished it and downloaded the next series number two. I surprised myself because I don't normally read "erotic" things, but these books are killer's, I might add. If you want the name of the book, email me and I'll let you know.

It makes me wonder why am I wasting my time reading this, but actually it's grabbed my attention for the time being. I'll post about it later so I won't mention the name for now. In fact if I look down at this face below, and her name is "Cathy" who was painted a while back, her look tells me she is in thought.  She seems to be thinking the same thing I am, "Why am I reading this kind of book?" Cathy seems to have an answer. Have a wonderful week.

Food To Eat

A few pictures of what I cooked from Marcela's book. The chilaquiles on the first pic, I added my own tidbits like chili, red bell peppers.

These are zucchini squash blossoms from our garden. They were stuffed and deep fried.

This is what went into the blossoms

Here are the veggies cooked

Here is the Mexican cheese I sprinkled on the veggies after I stuffed the blossoms.

Here are the blossoms ready to be deep fried and would you believe I forgot to take a picture of them after they were fried? Well I did. Sorry. I did borrow a picture from the Internet to show you what they looked like after frying.

A borrowed picture from the Internet, although mine did look like this picture.

I'm extra tired today because I was outside mowing the lawns and helping husband in the yard. He doesn't go back to work till Thursday so we have a few plans. Enjoy the week, Happy Memorial Day to us all and to our men and women who do what they do for US.

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY

Happy Paint Friday to all. Thanks Eva and Kristin. Stop by and visit other participants as we all look forward to seeing what everyone has come up with every week. I know I do. Posting extra early because I won't have time this evening.

I was inspired to do a side glance on the first lady of the five faces in one painting that you see,  from a painting I won a week or so ago on Julie's blog. You can see the wonderful piece I won by clicking on Julie's blog, and actually I couldn't find her blog any longer. Sorry. The face had a side glance that looked a little sad, and so inspiration beckoned me to do a face or two or 5. Tee hee. Maybe they all have side glances. Of course I wasn't copying, just getting ideas for my own work. Anyway, who could compete with Julie, she's one of the best artists on blog land. Thank you Julie for the piece, I love it. So this is my latest and I've titled it:

There's More Than One Me.

All these faces are probably because we as women have a number of so many different jobs to fulfill and we do them so well. God bless us all. Been there, done that, and now it's all about trying to find that person that doesn't have all those faces because all those jobs are now complete. Well, sort of. Of course motherhood will always be, but now it's time for ME HOOD.

I'm taking my 5 caps off and stepping out with my baby.
That means that tonight we make our way to the  famous Gallo Center (the name is from the Gallo family/wine) to see Smokey Robinson in concert. It's a one time event for us, and the seats are excellent. Dinner, Smokey, and then home to our waiting family pet members who will be so happy to see us. They aren't used to us being gone in the evening.

Blogging is something I have really cut back on,  and it's not because I don't enjoy it, but because it just takes to much of my time. Even though I don't blog every day doesn't mean I don't try to visit and leave comments on your blog. I do try, I really do. Have a great weekend.

HAPPY PAINT FRIDAY!

Hump Day Haiku

HAPPY HUMP DAY HAIKU. Linking with Helen for Wednesday's Haiku.

While out one day at garage sales, I found this wonderful piece of art. It's actually someones picture playing golf, a golf hat, trophy, the balls, clubs, jacket, golf bag, and shoes all enclosed in a frame like box. It's amazing.

Someone took the time to tell you a story with this stunning piece of work. It looks like most everything was made of clay, fired, and painted to resemble the real things. Look at those shoes, amazing. The yard sale lady said she didn't know where it came from, other than she had found it at a yard sale some 30 years back and now here it is in my home for the past couple years.

It's a story from long ago. In my mind this man that is in the picture played golf, perhaps as a career. You can see the people behind him as he is getting ready to swing. Lots of love went into the making of this piece of art. I've attached a little Haiku to it. It's what I think he would be thinking if he was looking at this piece. Hope it makes sense to you.
In my days of youth
Time was passed with club in hand
Memories fill voids

HAPPY HUMP DAY HAIKU ON WEDNESDAY. ENJOY LIFE TO THE FULLEST.

Yesterday's Eclipse

Hello and happy week to everyone. It would have been nice to have the proper glasses to view the eclipse and my husband did have welding glasses that were of the correct type for viewing an eclipse. I did take a quick peek and it was beautiful. Since I couldn't look directly at the sun, I held out my camera to the sky, looked away,  and took pictures of the brightness.

My husband said I was going to ruin my camera by doing that and so far it seems to have survived. It was my older camera. So here are a few of the pix I took.

This one is weird. Look at all the red circles at the bottom of photo.

Okay, there you go. This picture here also has reflections at the bottom. Well it's another day and the eclipse is over. Things like this we have no control over,  and I am in awe of the beauty of this world. Have a great week bloggy friends.  May the powers be with you.:) Oh yes, I forgot....Blogger says that now it will be a few months more before they get rid of the old interface so I switched back over till it's time to use the new interface which I don't like at all.

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY

HAPPY PAINT FRIDAY to all!
(tomorrow, that is.Early as usual.)

Thanks Eva and Kristin for all the Friday's you've hosted for us all. Hat's off to you both, and a big salute to all the special artists on board. I did not paint this week, so I'm sharing a video from last year when I was doing bangles and still do.  In fact I just painted a couple of bangles for  Cinco de Mayo and for Mother's Day. Gave them away to a friend. Do I sell them? Yes, I do, but enjoy giving them away too.

This weekend will be spent in the studio organizing and perhaps painting a few more bangles. Husband picked up his truck and it's looking pretty good with the new paint job. I'll post about it later. It's supposed to be a hot weekend so the air conditioner will be going full blast in the studio and my new bike might get a ride or two. My smoothie diet is going good and have managed to lose 7 pounds. Woo Hoo and three more woo hoo's. Take care and enjoy the weekend. I'll be at your blogs to view your latest work.

Here's my video and since this video was made December of 2010, all the bangles and pendants were sold and/or given away.

Just a few pictures. This one is from my series called Just Faces, Unibrowed and her name was Star. The title of the painting was "Wish Upon a Star."

Hump Day Haiku

Hump Day Haiku and what a better way to do a Haiku than to visit Helen. Stop by if you get a chance. I love thinking up a Haiku for pictures. I remember trying to do these special 3 liners in my English class at the junior college and the instructor wasn't really pleased with what she read. Oh well, can't win them all. It's a lot of  fun, try it some time if you don't already.

I'm posting a little early because there are many things to do today, mainly organize. I've gotten lazy and need to get my mojo working.

These pictures are from my front porch as your are walking in, after you are on the porch looking out, and then the beautiful scent of Jasmine itself just fills your being. It's awesome. Jasmine was my Dad's favorite, and he had it growing all over his back porch. He'd leave the windows open in the evening so that as he lay in bed, the scent would fill his nostrils. In fact this Jasmine is from cuttings that were taken from his yard long ago. Even though he is gone, his beautiful Jasmine lives on.

These pictures are for you Dad.

(my haiku)
IF YOU GET A CHANCE
WALK SLOWLY UNDER THE ARCH
THE SCENT ENGULFS YOU.

Happy Hump Day Haiku to all. Enjoy the rest of the week. Take care. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses, errr....JASMINE. :)) Thank you very much for stopping by, mi casa tu casa.

A Video From A Fellow Artist

Petko Pemaro - Fine Artist

A fellow artist painter on Fine Art America named Petko Pemaro was kind enough to make this video for me.  I was totally surprised when I seen the email with the attachment. I really like what he's done. I thought I would share it with you. I'm sure you'e seen some of the paintings and if it's too long, feel free to stop the video. He is a kind man who just wants to share his awesome expertise on making videos. Thank you Mr. Petko Pemaro, I very much appreciated it. Stop by his artist's website and check out his work. He has great talent. Hope you like it too.

Paint Party Friday

May 10 and PPF time with Eva and Kristin and all the artsy kind of gals and or guys if there are, who participate in this weekly fun event. Stop by and visit everyone else at Eva and Kristin's PPF link.

This past Cinco de Mayo we had tamales and the fixings. As I was cleaning the corn husks to wash them, I looked at the hair in the leaves  and saw how beautifully red it was, and knew right away that hair would have to be incorporated into a painting. That's how this painting came to be. The corn husk hair was used for "hair," there are little kites, a basketball, a taxi, a little duck, two little dogs, basketball and a few other things that have been decoupaged. Acrylics, oil crayons, lettering, and other were used. Here is a little story of these two gals:

For me, or us I should say, we want to learn to fly a kite. In our wildest dreams, to be a taxi driver in New York. We were born big babies and are tall in stature, therefore we will learn to play basketball. We'd love to have a pair of dogs that are so in love with each other that they prompt us to to find someone and fall in love too. Our hearts are out there as you can see. We always wanted a duck that talked and sounded like Groucho Marx and of course that's not about to come true, so just a little cute duck will do. He'd quack around the yard all day long and we'd listen to him as that would be his way of talking to us. We've also always wanted hair that was long and straight, and that's not about to happen anytime soon. We are stuck with this red curly hair, but we do have these dreams and hope that they will come to fruition some day. In the meantime we remain:

CORNY HAIR GIRLS

Have a wonderful weekend. We'll be headed out of town this weekend. I'll be by your blogs to visit very soon. Viva La Vida!
