My Blue Blog....for now

So I changed the color of my blog to BLUE.
Perhaps I too have my blue days, but not in a sad way-just colorful. Have a bluetiful day.

#1 of 40 Just Faces

My friend Bob  gave me  this beautiful paper called Papel Amate a while back. I've only used it for one painting that I have on my sidebar called "IN PRAYER" and I decided to use it for a journal that will have 40 faces on 40 pages, front and back. I was so happy to get this gift from Bob and Gina. Since the paper was a little large for a journal, I've gone ahead and cut the paper down so that I have a total of 20 pages, and since the back of the page will be used as well, there will be 40 pages. I love this paper. The texture is awesome and you can find more info on this  papel amate  link.

I've seen a video on how to bind a book and I hope to give it a try.

JUST FACES is all I will be painting on these pages, at least that's the plan for now. I may title the book just faces.

This painting is on the papel amate and acrylics, pastels, permanent markers was used. Sorry it's a little bleary.

The paper soaks up the paint and it doesn't go through the backside. It is awesome!

"Thinking Positive"
So I'm hoping to paint a face a day so that I can complete the 40 days. On other news, husband goes back to work on Monday. I have to admit he has been doing more that he should and I worry about that. He keeps saying that the doctor told him he can do everything, but if he feels pain, to stop. So I have no choice but to go along with that. On the other hand he is outside rototilling???? I can't stop him though. He is a workaholic. I have neglected my exercise so back I go. I went back today, will go tomorrow and after that on Monday, it's back to the routine. So, that's pretty much it, just thought I'd post some of my "Doodling." For some reason or other, I like that word now.  I hope everyone is doing well and that your days are filled will happiness.  Have a great Friday. Okey dokey, take care and
VIVA LA VIDA!

  1. 'Thinking Positive' turned out great and is a wonderful start to your 40 pages-40 Faces project, Gloria! What a great book it will make. We must be on the same wavelength as I am hoping to be accepted to a Portrait Party challenge I recently signed up for.

It's good news that your hubby is returning to work and, I too, hope that he takes it easy and stops immediately if he feels any pain.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. What a beautiful girl. I love the first face of your project and I would love to join you on something like this once my other projects are completed...so hopefully by October/November, I'll be good to go. I love portrait drawing and now I've taken a liking to permanent markers, so it could make for an interesting sketchbook.

Btw, that paper looks cool. I can't wait to see more of your faces!

Have a fantastic weekend...THINKING POSITIVE and all the best to your hubby!

  8. Hi Gloria - I have to laugh about your comment, "Like I said before, he is my pal, my husband, my everything, but gosh all mighty, I need some quiet time!! :)" I know EXACTLY what you mean.

  9. Gloria...I love the book idea. I'll look forward to seeing your faces.

At different times in my life I've attempted to keep a journal (written words), but it always falls by the wayside.

    Have a blessed weekend!

    Love,
    Amy
