My Blue Blog....for now

So I changed the color of my blog to BLUE.
Perhaps I too have my blue days, but not in a sad way-just colorful. Have a bluetiful day.

A Month Ago Or So

I remember mentioning about my arthritis on both knees and how I was doing so good since I started exercising at Curves almost 2 years ago. How I had gone from using a cane to being able to exercise and walk really good without any pain. Well they were better, now they are back to haunt me. I mean the pain is so bad when I walk, that I'm back to using a cane. Each step I take is like someone is trying to break both my knee bones. I don't hate, but this I do.

I was in bliss because I was finally getting back into painting, oh I still am. I do remember though saying that "It never fails, when thing are going good, something always happens." You get the picture. Well it does. Only this time it's not going to stop me from indulging in what is in my soul.I remember mentioning that second sentence to my friend yaya and she said, "when that happens, tell the devil to get out."
So besides pain pills, that's what I am going to do. :)

There are 3 steps to get outside and then another maybe 50 feet or so to get into my studio. I tried today and I couldn't raise my foot to walk down the steps. What a bummer! I took a pain pill and tried again later and I was able to move around a little better and managed to get to the studio in little itsy bitsy footsteps. Hahaha. It's really not funny, its crying painful. It's not going to stop me. Today my esposo called from work and said that this guy who worked where he does was now able to use a wheelchair. He got in a really bad accident about two years ago and it crippled him. Well he is out and about and going back to school, driving his fixed up car to get around in and he is not letting anything get him down. So I counted my blessings.

So on that note, it could be worse and it's not. So hey, I feel the pain but we do what we have to do in life.

  1. Gloria, I'm sorry you've been having pain in your knees. I suffer from that also from time to time, but I know it's because of the extra weight I carry around. Aleve usually helps out a lot.

I'll be praying for healing in your life. God is good and all good things come from God!

  2. Gloria,
Don't fool around with this. You need to see a doctor who specializes in this type of thing. There are shots that he can give you for the knee. I know because my sister Suzy has this problem. If you were in Mexico it would even be better because there are great doctors here with compassion and they don't charge so much. CuĂdate mucho, eh?

  3. Gloria...my gram was famous for saying, "get thee behind me Satan." Similar to Yaya's advice. I will keep you in my prayers for God's healing touch.

    Love,
    Amy

  7. Hi Gloria! I hope you feel better. Your positive outlook will get you far! Keep creating and continue to feed your soul with inspiration!

Thanks for coming to visit! To answer your question, I use a small crockpot to melt the beeswax & also a small quilting iron to finish it up. Have fun!

    Blessings,

  12. Gloria, yes it can be worse but what it is sounds more than bad enough.

When I had a bone scan last year (cancer in the bones) they also told me that I have severe arthritis everywhere. So I understand the legs and arms, etc. My pain is mostly in the arms and back.

I am taking naproxene which is a prescription in Canada but they also sell it by the name Aleve in the U.S. Another good drug is Tylenol for arthritis. Both help. You need to take what you can for the pain. Do not suffer with that (there are no extra points for suffering).

Your laptop looks beautiful I love the colour.

  13. Okay Renee. I remember you telling me about Tylenol for Arthritis before. So tomorrow if I can get out the door and if not, I will have my esposo pick it up at Walgreens. I'll take it and then I will let you know if it helped me. Thanks Renee. ::hugs::
