Durban House Heritage Centre

Email received from Paul Baker that may be of interest:

Hi All

I hope you don't mind me invading your inbox but I just want to take a moment of your time to let you know about a great new temporary exhibition currently on display in the Rainbow Gallery at Durban House Heritage Centre entitled Architecture.
Textile group InSPIREation21 presents a new collection of work, which is inspired by the form and shapes within architecture and uses both contemporary and traditional stitch work.
I hope many of you can find time to visit. I appreciate some of you are not local to the area but I would be grateful if you might promote this to any friends who might be interested. The exhibition continues until 20th December.

More information can be found on the website

Also those of you who were kind enough to support the Centre from the recent threat of closure might be interested to know that (what we believe to be) a final decision regarding its future will be taking place later this month. So far as I know the future of the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum is secure.

Kind regards
Paul

Latest News

We have now had the three get togethers which have been good fun and very productive. Lots of ideas have been proposed and best of all lots of people have volenteered to be part of the organising team.

On Wednesday 30th September there will be a meeting at the Robin Hood Pub at 7.30 to start the serious planning.

The proposed agenda will include:

A summery of the ideas from the previous three meetings.
Sharing feedback from SAW09
Date for the Sherwood Art Week 2010 and the Festival
Making a Wish List (bring your own wishes with you)!

The outcome of the meeting needs to be a clear picture of what SAW10 will look like and the steps clearly defined on how we will achieve it.
