Texture Boot Camp

In this month's boot camp Paula talks about texture.  By running my ink pad down the side of the white card stock, I have created visual texture.  I heat embossed the flower and then fussy cut it and added it with dimension dots to create the tactile texture.  I also added the flourish in the back for visual and tactile texture.
My favorite boot camp so far!!!

Boot Camp

I am trying to use up some scraps, so I created this card for this month's boot camp.
My card is asymmetrical.  The Stamp is from Hobby Lobby and the papers are from
scraps.  The flower embellishments were also punched from scraps.  The black striped
washi tape is from Michaels. I aligned the image just to make the card look different.

White space

On Paula's last Boot Camp she talked about white space and how it can be used as a design element.
Here is my card with "white space".  I ran the white cardstock through my Cuttlebug and then distressed it.

Paint samples

We had all these paint samples left over from when we redecorated the house
and they have been sitting around for about a year or so.  I decided there must be a way
to use them on a card and this is what I came up with.  I like all the different colors.
It was an awful lot of cutting though.  These 6 cards took several hours to make.

Fall cards

A couple of Fall cards for my next box to Write Home.
I love Fall colors and could make cards using these colors all the time.

Boot Camp...Principle of Unity

This month's Boot Camp teaches about unity on your card.
I thought using star paper, star embellishments and
grey washi tape brought this all together.
I made 10 of these cards and they will go in my next box to Operation Write Home.

Boot Camp

This is my card for this month's Boot Camp.  I use 3 colors and tried to stay with that.
The paper is from Joann's and the stamp is Hero Arts.  I used some "candy" on the big
flower and black pearl pen on the smaller flowers.  I embossed the yellow banner
in the middle to give it some texture.

Repetition

I made this card for the Boot Camp series on repetition.  I got the stamp in the dollar bin at Michaels and I just love it.  My friend Cindy got me started on Washi tape and now I just love that stuff.  The stamp is from Gina K, the ink is Amuse and the Washi tape is a Smash product.  This will go in my next box for Operation Write Home.  As you can see, I am not great at taking pictures.  It is way prettier in person.

Cricut cards

I had no mojo last week so I put away the stamps and the ink and got out my Cricut.  These are the cards
that I made and once I got started the mojo kept coming!!!  What I like about using my Cricut for cards is they can be very embellished but still flat to go in the mail.
These cards will all go in my next box to Operation Write Home.

Cards using material

I recently spent a weekend at the Cozy Crop House in Pennsylvania with some amazing friends.  We visited a store called Farmhouse Memories.  It is a quilt store that incorporates fabric into cards.  Here are some of the cards I made using fabric.  I am not big on coloring and I like the vibrant colors on the material that I didn't have to color!  Enjoy!

Bright and Cheerful

I am going away on a long weekend scrapbook/card making trip with some ladies who also make cards for Operation Write Home.  I cannot wait to meet them in person.  Here is a card that is bright and cheerful just like my mood is!  I will post some cards we make from our weekend when I get back!

Pattern Play Day 3

I have had this busy paper for ages and never knew what to do with it.  I recently took an on line card
class called pattered play.  One of the things I learned is if you have busy paper, break it up and
it doesn't seem so busy.  I cannot tell you where the paper is from as I have had it forever.
The sentiment is from Hobby Lobby and the punch is from Fiskar's.  The little green embellishments
are from Walmart.  Pretty clean and simple but beautiful too!

Happy Birthday

I needed some fast birthday cards so I got out my Cricut and made some of these for personal
use and some for Operation Write Home.  The flower and the sentiment are from the Wild Card
cartridge.  I ran the flower through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder.  The white background
is also ran through the Cuttlebug with the Divine Swirls folder.  I chose the red and black color scheme
in honor of my friend Cindy as we have been talking a lot about red and black lately!

Focal Image.

For our Boot Camp this week is focal image.  Here is my take on focal image.
I used textured paper and ran my distress ink pad down the side.  The polka dots
is a ribbon from Hobby Lobby.  The sentiment and flower are stamps from Michael's.
I colored the flower with my distress markers.  I am still learning how to scan my
cards and I am sorry this one is a little crooked.

Powdery Glitter Birthday Cards

These are some birthday cards I made using some really shiny glitter powder.
You put this really strong tape down and then spread the glitter on top.
The tape is so strong that the glitter doesn't come off.
These are for personal use and not for OWH as glitter
is a NO NO for OWH.
I got the glitter and tape at an Adventures in Stamping show in
downtown Akron a couple of years ago.
It makes really pretty cards, but it is messy!!!!

There is a new show for Adventures in Stamping coming to Akron this coming April.
Wonder what new fun stuff I will find there this year?

Monochromatic card

This is my monochromatic card from the OWH Bootcamp.  The image is stamped in black on black paper
and heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.  It is much prettied and classier in person!

Birthday Cards

I needed some birthday cards so I made a feminine version and a masculine version of this card.
The papers are from A Muse, the sentiment is from Hero Arts, the peach ribbon is A Muse and the
polka dot ribbon is from Michaels.  The sentiments are raised with pop dots.  The pearls on the
feminine card are also from A Muse. The card stock is from Hollo's PaperCraft Store.

I had a rough winter with knee replacement surgery and a bad cold and bloody noses.
I am finally feeling better and able to make cards.  So glad to be back!
