In your opinion, what makes a good speech?

In my opinion, there is no best speaker in the world, nor the worst speaker in the world. What makes a great speech is the preparation, content, attitude and of course, confidence. In a speech to an audience, we must pour them with ideas and things they won't be expecting.

When the point we are giving them is very common, for example, '' everyone drinks water'', they won't be surprise as it is the obvious. When we change it and add some spice to it by giving statistics of what kind of drinks people drink or how much harm does these drinks will do to that person, people will be more interested as majority of them doesn't know all these.

A good speech need time for preparation including rehearsals and researching for ideas or you can say, think out of the box. The content of of the speech must be sufficient to catch the interest and attention of the audience. A boring content of the speech not only will put the audience to sleep, it will also make them restless and might find you annoying.

When the content is interesting and useful to their lives, they would be interested and paying their fullest attention to you. Informative speech like what is the best way to get a high paying job or some other CATCHY title might interest the audience and hence, might make a good speech Attitude also plays an important part in your presentation to make a good speech. As i had learn earlier with Sarah the past few days [even tho she say that 5 points is for stories, i don't see any difference as this can also be applied to having a speech] , when making a speech, we must be relevant to the point we are talking about and not drift away and go out of topic
. We must be passionate in the way we make a speech. We must be hopeful so that the audience will be motivated. We must be succinct as the attention span of the audience is a little more than 10 minutes. If we drag the speech too long, the audience might be lost on how the speech develops. And also, we must respect the audience intelligence so they won't get insulted. Trust their wisdom. Hence, attitude plays an important part in a speech.
The final and most important rule is, confidence. In my years in secondary school, my teacher have repeated umpteen times that when reading a passage in an oral examination, no matter how hard the passage is, you must be confident. Same goes for a speech, for a good speech, the speaker must be confident. Articulation of each words is important.

When you are confident of what you are talking about, audience might listen to you as you seem very certain of your content and will believe what you are trying to tell them. Hence, confidence also plays a part in a good speech, In summary, we cannot just take one of the points above to make a good speech. All of the points must be included in one single speech to make a perfect and entertaining speech for the audience to enjoy



Went to escape last friday and flyer on saturday. Had fun in escape. Very. I like the Wet and wild the most. Darling love the Pirate Ship the most, hahahaaa.

Flyer on saturday at night, the scenery is just one word, AMAZING! i recommend you all to take night flyer. The lights and skydrop of singapore is just simply marvellous.

Going to marina tomorrow. Buy new slippers and have lunch. Muwahahaakakkakaaaaaaa


<3 back from chalet. Find her at arnd 1pm and walk arnd IMM. nothing much happen. Walk till arnd 4 plus. She headed home. Otw home, saw 2 rainbows, one taller than the other. Amazes me. Haven eat yet. No more maggie. Shit.

Went to the zoo yesterday. Cute and stinky is the word of the day. Love the squirrels.
I pity the meerkat, hes all alone in his confined space. poor thing. The Rhino is the SMELLIESTTTTTTTTTTTTT. omg so stinky even tho they didnt shit, if the shit, end of the world. Rained when walking to the kids zone. lol. my umbrella keep hitting <3. sorry. haaaaaa. Overall, was fun, but shoulden have came on a p.holiday. keep squeezing during shows, lucky nth unfortunate happen. hahahahaaa! Went to LOT 1 to have dinner. <3 leg pain. awwwwww. sorry :X . EVIDENCE OF HOW TIRED WE ARE! LOL.















Had amazing race yesterday, very pissed off with our routes! Wnna know ?

First, we had to go to pasir ris park, yiyue fell, poor thing.

Second, we had to take bus to tampanis mart, a good auntie lend sanitizer for yiyue's wound.

Third, took bus arnd 13 stops+another arnd 8 stops to East Coast Park (ecp)
we alighted at the wrong end of ECP and there is no bus to the other end as we had walked like 2km away from the bus stop we alighted, so, we had to WALK, WALK!! walk to the other end of the ECP. took us arnd 40 minutes. Legs were starting to fail us.

4th, we have to go to Dhoby Ghaut ( which will pass by outrum, and outrum is our last checkpoint) and walk like 3KM to the ART MUSUEM.! very very very tiring! my legs are starting to ache! my feet.
After that took bus 36 back to ECP. ( as the route is suppose to make us go back and forth the same bloody checkpoint ), so we have to endure the long walking distance again.
When we reached ECP, we realized that the peopel ther have already left, cos is already 3.20-.- Race officially ends at 3. Took the bus back to Downtown.
When we reached Pasir ris interchange, we wanted to take the normal bus to downtown, we act clever, we took another bus, cos another bus reached.
When we boarded the bus, we sense somthing is wrong and we went to ask the bus uncle whether it stops at downtown, THE UNCLE SAID, it needs to turn ONE BIG ROUND to reach downtown.
We quickly alighted and look at the bus notice. We realize IT DOES go back to downtown. We waitted for the nex bus that we alighted. To our surprise, WE ARE ONLY 1 BLOODY STOP AWAY FROM DOWNTOWN! thanks to confusing pasir ris bus route and we dont understand the word "LOOP"
we ended up reaching at 4.40pm. late for almost 2 hours. It is obvious what our position is out of 2000+ HAHAHAHA. damn embarassing!

Last day of school was on friday, the programme was kinda like school assembly, not fun at all. =P. but for the teachers who taught me, and friends, i went for the sake of it. Goodie bags consist of disc, some papers, mcchicken and apple. some pics.








I just realized is 2 more post to my 100th post. haha! today's end of prelims. went home, quite a smooth ride home. why? Bus 187 had less than 10 people. and 243W was nobody nobody but me. hahahaha! your out with school. sian. nevermind, shall look forward tomorow to make me happy. =DDDDDDDD. i shall go play game.


Got back my mother tongue results, C6. FINALLLY i pass my chinese. Secondary school life, ive only pass chinese like 4 timess including this. HAAAAAAA.


Heard about today's oral. For me, i think it was considered easy already. People say passage is hard, but i came across those words before so i think i can make it. SHIT. why i cant do today. LOL.


Had been feeling unwell since tuesday. lol. went to doctor yesterday and he said i got some kind of infection in my throat, lucky i went to see a doctor earlier if not it will get worst, my fatehr say can end up in hospital one -.-. past 3 days ive been feelng very very very sleepy and my ear hurts, all these because of the throat la! radiate heat to all parts of my body. lol. finally now, i feel myself, not sleepy, got energy to play cmputer. (: medicine do work. lol.


Watched UP at vivo yesteday, didnt go to marina to watch fireworks. sian. lol. nvm. catch replay later.
