Just Keep Swimming

Just a cool dip in the pool at Grandma's!  It was such a hot week and this crystal clear pool was a welcome relief.  Easton took his phone swimming with him so he was kind of depressed about the death of his cell phone.  Other than that little mishap we had a great time.

BYU Day and more...

It was so fun to visit Dallin at his workplace, J Dawgs.  It's a popular restaurant that only serves hot dogs, chips and drinks.  The hot dogs have a special sauce on them that really kick it up a notch.

Sophia and Easton chowing down.

Dallin convinced me to buy the special sauce....after all, he does have a 50% off employee discount!  We have been using it on our sandwiches.
BYU day would not be complete without a visit to the Cougar statue.

The infamous Y on the mountain in the background.

A little shopping trip at the BYU bookstore!
We paid a visit to the Bean museum after walking around campus. It was awesome!
We met up with Ashton to get a shaved ice and try to cool down.  It was such a hot day....I believe it hit 100 degrees.

And of course, I tipped my shaved ice over and made a real mess.  Duh!
Ate dinner with Grandma and Grandpa at Zupas....love that place!  Salad, sandwiches, and soups were just yummy.  What a busy, but super fun day we had.

On the way home from dinner we stopped in a parking lot to watch the hang gliders cruising around above the mountain by Mom and Dad's.  It was so cool to see so many just buzzing around.

Utah or Bust!

We started our summer trek out to Utah for vacation on Monday, June 29.  We packed into the Explorer and headed out at 8:02 in the morning.  Our goal was to attempt to do the drive in two days but have the option of going longer if I needed the break.  Easton was my passenger and we also had Sophia Higgins join us.  She was headed to Utah to surprise her friend, Andrea Groll and hang out with her for a few weeks.
Our first day of driving we made it to St. Joseph, Missouri and stayed at the Stoney Creek Inn.  We have stayed there in the past and knew it was a clean hotel.
Along the way we had a few dinner stops but we mostly just went through the drive thru restaurants so we could eat and drive at the same time.  We wanted no wasted time!

We stopped in a teeny-tiny town in Wyoming with the population of 1.  Buford, Wyoming was windy and even a little chilly.  We got gas and had an icecream!  The town consists of one gas station and one house.

We arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's at 10:40 on Tuesday evening and had a late night cereal party!  We made awesome time and I am glad we were able to get our driving done in two days....a driving marathon for sure, but it's done.  Now we just get to have fun!

EFY

Easton headed out to his first session at EFY (Especially For Youth) a few weeks ago up in Gainesville, Georgia.  This is a week long religious conference for the youth of our church who are ages 14-18.  He had a blast and was able to meet new friends of his faith.  Dances, games, spiritual classes, and just hanging out are some of the activities he was able to participate in.
Easton is getting dropped off right here and his friend, Kaleb Cheek helped him get moved in.

This is a picture of Easton with his assigned group.

Happy Father's Day

I love the father of my children!  We had a pretty low key father's day celebration this year.  We were supposed to be hitting the beach at Hilton Head but instead our water heater decided to leak and fill our basement up with water.  Ugh!  Stephen went down in the basement to get his suitcase for our trip and discovered the water everywhere.  So awful.  We worked until 4 in the morning with the Wet-Vac trying to get most of the water cleaned up.  After staying up so late we decided that we just weren't feeling up to the 5-6 hour trip to get to the beach.  A new water heater was going to have to be installed and we needed to be home.  Bummer.

We were able to throw a nice dinner together for Stephen and have a nice day.  He watched golf and then we paid a visit to his Dad!
