Card Making Challenge.

Over on the Scrapology blog our mid month challenge is now live. The theme is "Dreams & Delights".
It took me a while to come up with an idea I was happy with to be honest but when I saw this silhouette cut file I thought it was perfect.

I hand coloured & inked the background for the silhouette & cut a cloud mask to paint through to finish off the sky.
Pop on over to the blog to see loads of examples from the team.
Happy creating.

Second of my Pile of Postcards.

I wanted to share with you the second card that has come through my door. I'd forgotten how much I love receiving real post, it's just a shame it's so expensive as it's a lovely way to communicate, knowing someone took the time to sit down & write to you. I even enjoy looking at their hand writing as mine is shocking!!

Here is my second arrival from Northern Ireland.
Many thanks to Sian (who created this swap) for this great card with a little insight into the Irish way of speaking :)It really made me smile.
Well I hope we all have a Good Craic this summer.

First of my Pile of Postcards.

This summer I'm taking part in the wonderful Pile of Postcard Exchange organised by Sian. By the end of the month I will have sent out 6 cards & should shortly receive 6 in return from other participants.
Here is my first arrival.
Thank you Suze for taking the time to create for me this wonderful handmade postcard. I agree with you Manchester is a great place, I used to live there when I was first married many years ago.

All good things come to an end...

This is totally how I felt on reaching my #100 Happy Days.I really enjoyed doing this whole project, for me it made me look at my life from a different angle & even on bad days you can find something that will make you smile. I've kept a record of them all in my Project Life folder using these page protecters from Becky Higgins.
So here is 87 - 100.

The quote journalling cards are from the PL Aqua set and fit so well with the theme.
I would recommend you give it a go.

Wimbledon Love Match.

Today is Mens Finals day at Wimbledon & lots will be watching to see who becomes The 2014 Champion.
Recently Paul & I were surprised with the offer of Wimbledon tickets by our Son's girlfriend. It was too good an opportunity to miss as we hadn't been there since 1991 when we saw Steffi Graf play on Centre Court. So last wednesday we drove down for the day to watch the scheduled Court One matches.
Wednesday will always be memorable as the day Murray lost & although we didn't see that match we could certainly hear the sighs of the crowd as it unfolded.
First we watched Eugenic Bouchard beat Angelique Kerber. Then Novak Djokovic win over Marin Cilic.
Lastly Milos Raonic beat the young Aussie Nick Kyrgios much to the crowds dismay as they were really willing the unseeded lad to win.
For us this trip was about more than just the tennis...neither of us had been back to Wimbledon since we had got married there at St Mary's Church Wimbledon Village in 1993!!
When we first moved to London we rented a flat behind Wimbledon Village High Street & chose to get married there too. In those days you weren't allowed to get married during Wimbledon fortnight so we married in the May instead. As we were so close we just had to drive past both the church & the flat too. We had the ground floor of this house & the bay window was part of our bedroom.
Our journey home was filled with remembering memories of our time here, the friends we met & kept & details of our wedding day.
A really wonderful day out.

We Were Here.

This time last year I was hurriedly packing so that we could travel to South Africa to watch our eldest play rugby there.
I took this photo only a few days after we arrived from the top of Table Mountain. To be honest it had taken all my courage to go up in this cable car but as the journey only lasted 2 minutes I braved it & boy was it worth it for the views.
I was thrilled when this lo was chosen for the holiday gallery in Scrap 365 magazine which is due in the shops this week.
We Were Here.
For the background I utilised all the scraps of paper I'd been holding on to & punched them all square. By keeping all the colours natural the photo still takes centre stage.
A scattering of embellishments were added to complete the look.
Many thanks for looking x

P is for Punchouts

Over on the Scrapology blog this months sketch challenge is now live. We chose a Stacey Cohen layout that caught our eye & we hope inspires you too.

Cherish.
I love this photo taken recently of my parents & so I thought I'd use hearts as the punch outs as they mean the world to me.
A few flowers & gems are all it needs to finish it along with a painted chipboard title.
Hop on over to Scrapology to see the sketch, original Lo plus loads of inspiration from my DT colleagues.

Wonderful Weekend

Last weekend I had the most wonderful time in Wanborough teaching at a ScrapaGoGo weekend called Aquarelle Adventures. This was my second time here this year. The local Ladies are so welcoming that it was a real pleasure to return.
The GoGo Gang taking a quick selfie whilst setting up the hall.
Here is a glimpse of how the weekend looked.
I taught this mini book using Prima Free Spirit products purposely designed to fit inside an artist box the Ladies decorated with Sam.
We really got down to some serious painting in this single Lo class using a Heidi Swapp mask as a template for painting & hand cutting the rays. Plus trying out a few techniques to add depth & texture to the coloured areas.

To go with the painting theme I taught an easel type card as a make & take using a little stamping & painting to co ordinate with the papers.
The weekend whizzed by in a flash & although I'm a little tired I look forward to when we can do it all again xxx
