Wonderful Weekend of Classes.

Last weekend the 11th GoGo Getaway was held at Theobalds Park, Cheshunt. I know I'm biased but I think it was the best one yet.
I was thrilled to be teaching there again & my 3 classes were really well received by the Ladies.
Here are the full images.
Quirky & Quilted - using templates to achieve a cathedral quilted effect.

Petal Press - making & using handmade papers.

Making the Cut - using a paper template to achieve a cut out background.

I'm already looking forward to the next one :)

365 case file.

You know by now how much I love a CSI case file to get my mojo working & now CSI have joined up with Scrap 365 magazine to over a month long challenge :)
So how could I resist.

The photos here are of my Grandfather mimicking the pose of my Great Grandfather!! I hope he didn't get in to too much trouble doing it!
For the background I used a stencil & texture paste & really like the effect.
From the case file I've used...
Scheme- all the colours.
Evidence-circles, bird, tearing, book page, stencils, buttons, tile letter stickers.
testimony-books/reading.

A few sneak peeks...

This weekend I have the pleasure of teaching at the GoGo Getaway which is being held at Theobalds Park in Cheshunt. A stunning hotel with beautiful grounds.Whilst I was there in March a deer walked by my bedroom window!
This will be the 11th Getaway & my 10th I think as either a delegate or a teacher.I really enjoy the whole atmosphere of the weekends & have met lots of lovely like minded scrappers who I consider friends x
I thought I'd share with you a peek of the 3 classes I'm teaching.
Quirky & Quilted.
Petal Press.
 Making the Cut.

At these retreats the delegates get to choose 7 out of the 21 different classes...hows that for tailoring  a weekend to suit everybody's preferences :)
This time to add to the fun Sarahs Cards are bringing their shop full of goodies :D
I'll share the full images with you next week x

Colour challenge - Gromits.

Whilst I was away last weekend I had a go at a few challenges to get the old mojo going :)
I liked the look of this one from Jot.
I used a photo I took whilst searching for Gromits on our first trip to Bristol, my daughter was keen to see the Gromit designed by One Directions Zayn & this is it.

Gromit Unleashed Trail.

I've used the original map for the background plus the Gromit passport for collecting stamps on my page to remind us of the great time we had together doing this.
 Many thanks for looking xxx

Washi Wonder

Over on the Scrapology Blog today we are sharing the October card challenge. It's great one for a cold day like today when you want to be inside crafting :)
We want you to use autumnal colours on your card...see I said it was easy x
Here is mine, inspired by something I saw on Pinterest.
Most of us have washi tape now & collecting them is addictive but I really needed to start using it! So I covered some plain cardstock with different tapes before I die cut the leaves out of it. I used Stazon ink for the sentiment as I didn't want the stamping to smudge x
I hope you like it.If you use this technique I'd really love to see what you create x

My Girl.

I've just returned home from a weekend scrapping with a great bunch of Ladies & realised I'd hadn't shared all the pages I made from when I last went away with them back in the spring.
Here's a favourite using a photo of our daughter from August 2002!

My Girl.
I've used a mix of scraps with some Dear Lizzy papers to showcase this photo.
Many thanks for looking x

Story Telling Sunday - Jar of Hearts.

Here we are again on the first Sunday of the month & celebrating with Story Telling Sunday From High in the Sky. I was reminded of this months precious when listening to the radio in my car & this song by Christina Perri came on. It's really worth a listen if you've not heard it before. Anyway the title got me thinking & here's my Precious for October.

It all started on a trip to Edinburgh to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversay. We were window shopping in some quaint side streets when Paul spotted this rose quartz heart in a window which he bought & presented me with immediately. For the rest of the trip this love token lived in my pocket as a smooth warm reminder of our relationship.
In the last 10 years my collection of hearts has grown to over one hundred, bought for me from all over the world & made of many different materials. I now store them in glass jars on our bedroom window sill to display them at their best & this allows the light to stream through them painting stained glass pictures on the carpet.
I know to some they are just dust catchers but they always make me smile when I open the curtains & see all the jewel like colours & remind me how loved I am x

Scrapping with Buttons.

Over on the Scrapology the Lo challenge for October is B is for buttons. There is even a sketch to use making this a great challenge to join in with if your crafting time is limited.

South African Sunset.
This is a fabulous sketch for using up some of your stash. It did take a little time to stitch all the buttons down but I think it was worth it x
Once I got sewing I couldn't stop & I added some detail to the sun I'd cut with my silhouette cameo.
Hop on over to the blog for details on how to join in x

Lets Celebrate...

Today I've been having my own little bake off so that we can celebrate later with a huge slab of cake...Matthew's 16th Birthday.
If you know Matt, you will know this cake will be just perfect for our out going, dare devil, caring, infuriating, humorous, fun loving Son.
Quite where those 16 years have gone since this photo was taken I'm not to sure but I do know that he brings love & laughter to lives each & every day & his Dad & I are very proud of the young man he has become.

Happy Sweet Sixteen Matthew Saul xxx
