hopefully my next destination. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Artist,

It has come to my attention that you are ready to embark on your next stage as a visionary, creator and artist. First of all, allow me to congratulate you for having made it this far. I know it couldn't have been easy - years of school pressure; homework and exams for topics which you didn't have any interest for to begin with. Not to mention the naysayers who couldn't possibly understand the very special gifts at work within you. But all of that is about to change.

LASALLE College of the Arts was created to be a place where you will belong. A refuge where your unique talents will be honed and guided by some of the most acclaimed mentors in the arts world - individuals who weren't too different form yourself when they first started out years ago. Offering the most comprehensive range of diploma and degree programmes in design, fine arts, fashion, animation, broadcast media, theatre, dance, music, film and arts management in the region. LASALLE has been home to some of Singapore's leading creative practitioners.

Perhaps it will inspire you to know that our prominent graduates and accomplished faculty staff include established artists at the Venice Biennale, acclaimed designers recognized by the British D&AD and red dot, respected curators, writers, musicians, dance and theatre pioneers, and countless practitioners from the creative industries in Singapore and beyond.

And it could be your turn, too, to one day grace the world's stage and grab the headlines with your remarkable gifts. Make no mistake - this is by no means easy. Many are called to this path, but few are truly chosen. Yet somehow i sense that deep within you lays the power to someday effect great change in the artistic climate of our time. How you deside to nurture this ability is entirely up to your choosing, but it must begin with a first step. And let that first step be today.

come to the LASALLE OPEN HOUSE on the 14-15 January 2011 and meet our mentors who will help you catch a glimpse of what lies ahead for your amazing potential.

But perhaps, more importantly for now, Welcome Home, Artist.

Sincerely,

LASALLE College of the Arts

O School Recital!

this marks the end of what we have been working so hard for, for the past 3 months. :) its been no doubt an amazing journey. getting to know new people, learning a whole new choreography together, and bonding as a team. it has been a great privilege to be part of Jessica’s team of dancers and to be part of this choreography that speaks to me deeply. i’m so thankful that i got a chance to be part of it. :)

honestly this experience would not have been complete without a huge shoutout of thanks to my fellow dancers that worked so hard alongside me! to Vanessa, Calvin, Fred, Jacq, Donnie, Glenda, Amy, Milai, Yvonne and Wanxin. It has been no doubt an amazing experience! and of course to Puiman and JJ! i know yall are definitely supporting us all the way. :) thank you so much too! :)

i love it when we all come together to do things like celebrate Jessica’s birthday, and make all those gifts for her during the 3 recital shows! :) thank you for entrusting me with helping out with the cards n stuff and thank god they all looked good in the end! :) and thanks to amy who helped us get the gorgeous flowers. :) you are truly awesome! :)

Thank you guys for being so awesome! from Vanessa our nonsense girl who never fails to make us laugh, to the twins jacq and donnie! and our leopard girl who loves pink and is getting married soon, milai, and the rest of us with our funny personalities, all of us came together to share what we love most - DANCE. :) and i’m really just so honoured to be part of this with yall. :) always remember that you guys are AWESOME and AMAZING dancers, so never give up on what you believe in, always believe in yourself, and remember to shoot for the stars. :)

of course the biggest thanks ever, go to Jessica, for believeing in me. thank you so much for selecting me to be part of your FIRST EVER recital item! its been such an HONOUR. i have learnt so much, gone beyond so much of myself, and did things i’ve never done before or ever thought i could, and it was all thanks to you who helped to push me as well. :) thank you jess, for your great belief in me and for being such an awesome choreographer. :) i love you jess!

aside from just dancing, i have learnt so so so much more. thank you for giving me the opportunity to help out in whatever way i can, be it with costumes, make up, to helping you out liasing with the dancers, etc… it has helped me to grow and to learn as well. :) its my joy to see your vision come to life, because as a dancer, i would love to try my very best to make my choreographer’s vision come to life, and i hope i did! :)

i’ve also learnt so much going costume shopping with you, chatting with you, which just makes this even more worthwhile for me. :) you’ve really shown me what it is to live your dreams and to pursue them. thank you so much for that. :) and whenever i am feeling super down or feel discouraged about my dancing, i will always turn to your letter and re-read the third and fourth paragraphs over and over again. :)

another big thank you goes out to all the supporters who came down to watch! thank you so much! when i was lying on stage waiting for the music, and i here all the cheering, i didn’t even know so many people i knew were coming! haha. so thank yall so much. yall are so so so awesome. :)

TPDE - we have like 50 over people performing IN recital alone, and yet we have so many that come to watch! haha. thank you so much juniors n all for coming down to support. i love love love yall beyond words! :) nothing can describe how much i love yall! thank you for all the love! :) GEMS 6 YAHHH!

thank you to all those that gave me comments and feedback because its truly an honour to hear all that coming from you all especially when i know i still have so much to work on. thank you for being proud of me, and i’m proud of myself for not giving up as well. :)

i really experienced the intense emotion of the choreography on the first night which left me in good happy tears. :) and i really didn’t want to cry, but it was just really overwhelming. :) i’ve never felt like that before, but i believe its a good start to many great things. i would love to feel that way again, totally immersed in the dance and choreography till you are one with the movement and music. it is the most amazing feeling ever. thank you yvonne for sharing that with me. i know exactly how you feel. :) ♥

and thank you to God who really made everything possible. from the start to the en he was my stronghold when i was feeling discouraged or weak or even nervous. :) jesus made everything better. :) thank you daddy god, for this whole entire experience. it was truly a dream come true. :) you’ve blessed me with feet and i use them to glorify you through dance and thats what i’ll keep on doing. :)

i believe that recital is only the beginning of greater things to come, and i’m excited for my future thats in store for me. :) this experience made me realize that i must always remember to NEVER stop dancing. no matter what happens or how i feel, i must never give up on what i love doing the most. ♥ :)

so to end off, here is the video of the item! :D

This is the item i was in - Contemporary Jazz by Jessica.
MISS YALL SO MUCH! ♥♥♥♥
i’d rather jump and fall, than never jump at all…
its not over, till i say its over…

Sober

And I don't know
This could break my heart or save me
Nothing's real
Until you let go completely
So here I go with all my thoughts I've been saving
So here I go with all my fears weighing on me

Three months and I'm still sober
Picked all my weeds but kept the flowers

And I don't know
I could crash and burn but maybe
At the end of this road I might catch a glimpse of me

Three months and I'm still breathing
Been a long road since those hands I left my tears in but I know
It's never really over, no

Three months and I'm still standing here
Three months and I'm getting better yeah
Three months and I still am

Three months and it's still harder now
Three months I've been living here without you now
Three months yeah, three months

Three months and I'm still breathing
Three months and I still remember it
Three months and I

Three months and I'm still sober
Picked all my weeds but kept the flowers...

- Sober, Kelly Clarkson

"The song was inspired by Clarkson's friend Calamity McEntire, who told her to "pick her weeds and keep the flowers". According to Clarkson the song is about survival and knowing what to do when something goes wrong. "It's not easy getting over whatever your addiction may be," she says. "The whole point of that song is, the temptation is there, but I'm not going to give in to it." Clarkson added that "Sober" is her favorite song on My December. "Musically, it's almost hypnotic. You just get lost in it, it's just so beautiful. This song is about surviving something you think you can get past or over. I'm not an alcoholic; that's not what it's about. It's just a metaphor. Everyone has something they are addicted to that they can do without in their life, so it could be about whatever your addiction is."

Boys & their flowers

i'm seriously crazily in love with this Korean drama, Boys over Flowers, 花より男子.

Omg yes i know i have confomed to the Kpop-dom of society. but being a mega huge fan of the Taiwan drama, Meteor Garden, i just had to watch this. (albeit its quite late i enter into the hype when its sort of 'dying' out already.)

i actually did not ever want to get sucked into those drama induced shows where you have to keep on watching because you want to know what's next and before you know it, its already like 6am? haha. but i survived and did all that with this show, and to think it started with me accidentaly watching it on channel U, then i couldn't stop and needed to know what was going to happen to Jan Di next! haha

well, i must say i am SUPER impressed with this version. from the casting, to the acting, to the location, to the filming and even the storyline (cos it was slightly different from the Taiwan version) but nonetheless, i loved everything about it. :D and i can safely say i love it even more than the Taiwan version! XP

okay so here is the summary in a diagram format of the show:

the casting was amazing! with Li Min Ho (Jun Pyo), Kim Hyun Joong (Ji Hoon), Kim Bum (Yi Jung) and Kim Joon (Woo Bin) as the leading F4, Goo Hye Sun as Jan Di, the 'San Cai' of the series and of course her best friend Kim So Eun as Ga Eul, the 'Xiao You'.

no doubt Korean guys are HOT, but these four are just toooo cute. i am exceptionally taken by Kim Bum and his cute baby face, Li Min Ho, with his looks and of course Joong, for being so suave. haha. i really cannot get over it!

throughout the show however, i really felt that the Joong's character as Ji Hoon, the 'Hua Ze Lei' of the show was really well played and he definitely had a lot more screen time than zai zai ever had! i also really saw a relationship develop between him and Jan Di. in this show, she seemed so much happier when he was around, and he was such an important person in Jan Di and Jun Pyo's relationship! if he wasn't around they would not have happened! :D i guess there are really those gaurdian angels out there.

this show also highlighted a lot of things about friendship. :) i really liked how F4 stuck though thick and thin, and through all the drama and girls. hahaha. how Jun Pyo and Ji Hoon's friendship is so strong, that even though they sort of fell in love with the same girl, they still maintained their friendship and knew what was best for each other and her.

it also makes you wonder - where on earth do you find a guy like Jun Pyo! so innocently niave and sweet! and he really cares so much about the girl he likes! ahhh. where got guy like this i also want. :( haha. i Jan Di is really so lucky, she gets the leading guy, and his best friend as her guardian angel. how awesome can that be please. hahaha :D

i also love Yi Jung and Ga Eul's relationship! its so much better than the other one in the Taiwan Meteor Garden. you can actually see the development, and how he actually sorta likes her, and i love in the teaser continuations, he actually did ask her to be his girl! awww so sweet! plus its KIM BUM, who is so damn cuteeeeeee! :D

nonetheless i love this show cos the ending was super awesome and COMPLETE. gosh no cliffhangers! thank god! love it. :) so i really recommend x 1,000,000,000 to go watch it if you haven't! i'm waiting till after exams to watch Personal Taste! hehehe

oh and here are some of the like 'continuations' of after the BOF series, i exceptionally love the one on Yi Jung and Ga Eul (Kim Bum and So Eun) *Gleams*

this one is the Samsung ad, i thought it was so cute and clever!
