Weekend work get away for Shaun's work conference was just so fun!

More for me than him, I think. He had classes and meetings during the day but we woke up early and went out to a cute diner for breakfast and went to the suspension bridge. It was beautiful and we had fun freaking out over the heights together. It was funny how it was never together that we would get nervous, only one of us at a time. Makes me laugh how the years we have spent together really have made us stronger together. He is seriously so perfect for me. He is everything I love about life. 

He set up for me to go shopping and get my nails done while he was away. 

The nail salon was on the water and I sat listening to jazz music and watched the sea planes take off. 

Shaun was dying when he came to pick me up and as we walked past the hotel where the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors were staying. We went back to the hotel to watch the game where it clicked that the guy that sat next to me in the salon told me he played basketball and was here for a game. I didn't think anything of it but Shaun was laughing so hard when we realized it was the starting guard for the Toronto Raptures. 

We walked around the city hand in hand falling more and more in love with each other. 

We ate at the public market on Granville Island and admired the cute art studios and enjoyed the fall season in beautiful Vancouver. I love every minute I get to spend with Shaun.

Its the first day of school and now KD and Gavin are gone all day!

Back to School Dinner

After we got home from church everyone help set the table for our fancy Sunday dinner. 

Shaun made the best tasting roast I have ever had, (Sorry Dad) with rolls and strawberry spinach salad.

For dessert, we made banana pudding, which is a tradition that my Great Grandma Cox would always make when I went to visit her as a child. On this night I want my kids to have a strong dose of family values and tradition. My goal is to empower my kids with confidence to choose the right and with heart to know that they are loved so no matter what happens at school, home is their safe haven. 

These kids are amazing people and I feel so blessed to call them my children.

We talked about our new school year theme, which is, Now is the best time to start becoming the person you want to be. President Uchdorf.

Even though you are young, it is important to learn now, to work on becoming the person you want to be now, because as you get older, it only becomes harder. Don't create bad habits that you will have to work on. Promise now not to use bad language or to gossip. Choose now that you are going to be a hard worker and obey the rules. Choose to be prayerful and listen to the Holy Ghost and read your scriptures.

Wild Buros

Shaun thought it would be funny to roll down our window and pretend to feed them so they would come closer. They are like a horse but more terrifing since they are wild. Who knows what they will do. Everyone got a good laugh as I asking in a screaming like voice to please drive away.

Shaun is such a fun dad, always making the kids laugh and showing them new exciting things. 

Man I love that man! 

Peanut Butter BOY

That is what Connor exclaimed when I walked downstairs to find both boys covered in peanut butter. 

I am sad to say that I wish I could of reacted better. Connor had smeared peanut butter from head to toe over his whole body and was starting on Emmett when they were caught. See Emmett's arm. 

I put Connor in the shower and when I came back to address Emmett is when I realized the error I had made and should have got a picture of them both. 

I love these messy crazy boys, keeping me on the run all day, everyday.

Connor isn't taking naps anymore but if he sits still after 6:00pm he is fast a sleep. 

It is a normal night for him to skip dinner because he is so deeply asleep by 6:00 that he won't wake up so Shaun carries him to bed.

Angel faced trouble makers. 

Connor wakes up first almost every morning. After coming in to check on Shaun and I he goes in and plays with emmett in his crib til the rest of us wake up. Connor brings Emmett toys and does silly things to make Emmett laugh. 

The other day while KD and Gavin were at soccer practice, the boys were just wondering around the house playing as usual. I am putting laundry away upstair when I realize the house is too quiet. 

Connor claims he didn't know where I went and walked to the parking looking for me. 

They found some neighbor kids and were happily playing at the park together. 

My heart was racing when I ran to get them. 

Connor's first words to me were, 

"Don't worry mom, I held Emmett's hand the whole time and we ran, so he wouldn't get hit by a car." 

As frustrated as I was that it happened, I love that he was looking out for his brother.

Emmett might not know how to use his words very well but he knows how to get what he wants. 

He grabs me by the hand and takes me where he wants to go. 

Or he yells, "LOOK!" and points with his cute little fingers. And forces your face to look.

GIRLS TRIP

Ashlee and I took a much need girl time. We had a blast taking the ferry out to Bainbridge. 

We walk the grounds at the Bloedel reserve, which was beautiful! We went antique shopping and played with make up. So blessed to have her as my childhood/lifelong friend.

Birthday Date to Cheesecake Factory

KD invited some of her favorite friends the day of her birthday to swim and make cupcakes. 

We did mermaid hair wraps. I loved playing with her girly friends and celebrating my most favorite girl. 

For her birthday she mostly wanted girl time but we also surprised her with a trip to wet n wild with her best friend, Gavin. 

The next day we finished up all her birthday celebrations with Gigi and Pop Pop for cheesecake.

Summer starts NOW

Our neighborhood summer party was out of control this year with a blow up slide and water fights happening everywhere. It is a fun tradition that I look forward to the most every year!

Happy 33rd Birthday SHAUN!

We invited just a few friends over for cake and it turned into a massive party. So many kids everywhere and it was a blast. So thankful for this man! He is an amazing husband, the funnest Dad, and we love him so much. So happy to celebrate his birthday with so many awesome friends.

 

For Shaun's birthday I had this grand plan of doing a huge backyard makeover and doing a outdoor kitchen and lounge area. I clearly took on more than I should have and my in laws saved the day.

I am one lucky girl to marry into a family I adore and love so much.

Emmett loved helping pop pop put together the outdoor sofa.

Take your kid to work day

 

This year was Gavin's turn to go to work with Dad. 

He loved spending the day with his Dad and wants to be just like him. 

Gavin went to meetings out to lunch and even to court with Shaun. 

He had a blast. 

When they over seed the grass they run the sprinklers all day. In the middle of a game they turned on but it didn't stop the kids from playing. Well it did Connor, it made him nervous.

But KD and Gavin and the neighbor kids loved it.

Seeing my kids play like this is good for the soul.
