Leaders' Camp Day 2

Part 1
Waking up as early as 5.30am was a tough task for faci. Morever, yours trully only got an hour of sleep due to insomnia. @_@" Oh ya? Insomnia didn't pull me down and it made me more energetic in the end. ==" However, batteries flat after balik rumah. Anyway~ Had morning exercise, leading by cutie Heppy. He was kinda funny with all those sissy movements. I thought he handled it well. Haha! =) Looking at the pics and video of ppl exercised really make me burst into laughters. =D *muahaha*
body streching
it looked like in the middle of the night.
jogging to the public park square to have more aerobic movements!
Taken this while people were busy tucking in the breakfast.
Next, breakfast... lalala... bathing and resting time! Followed by, club's pressie/reps' presentation on their mission and vision of the club as well as planning the event of Year 2009. Event planner sheets were distributed. Basically, at this round, they were simply just need to spell out all the activities that they planned so that they could fill up the calender of student council's activities schedule.

After that 2 hours of presentation cum meeting, we had another round of reflection session to wrap up the whole camp. =) Everyone sat in a big circle and shared whatever they felt was right and wrong. As usual, there were more positive than negative comments. Luckily, we asked them to write in a piece of papers. Haha! You know, students are always reluctant to tell out loud. =x
Had our first and final lunch and departed at 1pm.

another longest, loudest and craziest yumseng round with everyone in the hall!

finally, we were opted for a fine and relax group pic!

Part 2
Surprise trip to Melaka downtown!
To hike up the atmosphere of the camp and to fulfil participants' wishes, we went to Melaka! Melaka is a historical and picturesque state with all sort of old shops, riversides, churches, St. Paul's Hill, assortment of trishaws, tourists and tourists and more tourists. -_-" Visiting Melaka with the team was really a new experience for me. =) I had fun! Most importantly, i gotta taste the durian chendol again! Omg! It's still so fabulous! =) Sigh. But still, Melaka is forever that HOT! Omg. Lastly, we said sayonara to Melaka around 4pm and headed back to KL.
the naughty us~ =)
colourful souvenirs! =)
my all time favourite!
Durian Chendol!
Journey to the North.
Managed to get some shots with the participants.
A surprise birthday tart for the bday boy, Nicholas, once again!
*applause*
hehehe!
everyone was fatigue.
byebye.

I was basically... LOW BATTERY when i reached.

Leaders' Camp Day 1

Leaders' Camp, the first striking project for UniYouth to handle ever since its' establishment.
Basically, we've been working non stop for those 8 days just to prepare and to excel the camp. Conflict and arguement arised during these 8 tough days. It was inevitable. I wouldn't say it was close to perfection, but we did try our best for it. Project Manager, Heppy Ng, gave us 70%, a B. Haha. Never mind! :) I would say, we really did a great job, with all the assistance given by all the committee members. UniYouth is going to shine in UCSI! Let's strive hard. =)

This year, with the theme "Break the Border, Have Fun Together!", the camp had indeed created a mould of impact on us all. It symbolised not only the end result of the camp, but it had bound us together once again as a gang of friends, as a gang of UCSI'ians. This camp was being held in Ayer Keroh, D'Village Resort, Melaka.

Initially, the camp was planned as a retreat for the leaders of UCSI but too bad, the title was changed time after time and in the end, it ended as Leaders' Camp. It did not sound nice to us but too bad, we had to follow what the management said. Well, that's UCSI. -_-" However, we still wanna convey our heartfelt thanks to Ms.Lee and Ms May who were being there for us despite of their tight schedules.
The preparation team who departed from KL way earlier than the participants. I really salute them as they really did a great job in creatively decorated the hall and pasted the backdrop onto the wall~ Hanging balloons and ribbons across the wall. Good job, guys!
we got makcik and pakcik to clean the hall. Haha! Just kiddin!
I lurve this backdrop. It looked leisure, relax and comforting to me~
1st Group Photo before Buka Puasa Dinner.
Let's move on...
First day, basically, it's ice-breaking, team building games, seminars on Student Council, and Opening Ceremony. I would say we have more room for improvement in term of games and activities because this is our first time organizing such event in UCSI. However, the rest were ok to me. The VIPs were happy to see us all together as one, with high motivation (or too high?xD) and with active participants. And yeaa... i was the emcee throughout the camp. It was indeed a great experience for me to talk in front of everybody. I was stressed out in the beginning but during the camp, i guess everything went well. =D Glad to have those encouraging participants and facilitators! You made my day! :)
Next up, it's photos time! =D Too many shots... figuring what to be posted here... @_@"
In the bus from UCSI to Melaka.
I wonder why everyone smiled like this.
Did i say something... wrong?
Surprise to everyone!
We played 1st Ice-Breaking game with everyone in the bus.
Self introduction was being conducted by everyone.
Then, they gotta put on the name tag for the name which they got from the box, randomly.
Upon the arrival of the resort.
Residential assignment by Heppy.
Participants' arrival in the hall. Welcoming speeches by Student Council Pressi, Steph, and UniYouth President, Yuki,
2nd Ice-breaking game!
"WHO AM I?"
As i mentioned, the 1st ice breaking game in the bus was kinda crucial.
In this round, they were requested to guess who was their opponent once the cloth was pulled down by the facilitators.
Happily blowing balloons.
Courtesy of Digi!
Okiee.e.... they were happie....
let the battle begins!
punishment! Guess wrongly or slower, they needed to be punished. Hohoho!
This is Yuki. Very animated.=="
Next, WATER ACTIVITIES!
Pending and waiting by the pool.
Waiting for instructions.
Team 1
Team 2
Team 3
Team 4
First water game entitled Trivia where everyone needed to guess the answers on general knowledge.
The wrong one, please get down the pool and wait for their verdicts!
Spelling Missisipi by butts. Yooohooo!
Quacking ducklings! =D
Next, more physical endurance game.
Each respective group was asked to swim/walk/float across another end of the pool. Then, they had to grab the colour pencils and coloured!
That was.... hard...
However, i could see teamwork from here! =D
Everyone helped their group members to get out of the pool or even walked together in the pool. Touched!
all WET! Water was still dripping from their whole bodies! Hohoho!
tadaaaz!
2 down! 1 left!
Tug on war! =D
I thought this game could really train their teamwork.
However, due to gender issue, some teams really lost the advantages. =X
It was challenging, tiring but FUN!
Created high atmosphere there~ by the pool. The sceneries were great!
Then, after all those games, participants were given 15-20 mins for their own free time.
Taking pics with all our VIPs and Advisors as well as faciz!
Next, Opening Ceremony!
I thought it was simple but special.
Not to say grand, but elegant.
Popping party poppers. =D
It was really beautiful.
For once in my life, i saw so much of ribbons and colour papers out from that 2 big and 2 small poppers! Omg.
After dinner, another team building game was held.
Each group was given 200 straws to build a tower.
Cool!
They really came out with brilliant ideas which really amazed me!
Supper time!
Free soya bean from our sponsor.
We also provided bread. =)
After sharing of the day, we moved on to another surprise!
To sing bday song to Nicholas! The bday boy on that Sunday! =)
Didn't get the chance to shoot his face. Hoho! He was standing upstair.
Before calling the day off, we had our first day post mortem meeting until 1am+.
zzzzzz...
and for godsake, i had insomnia that night.
Managed to catch an hour sleep. @_@"
that's all for Day 1.
to be continued...

Events down the road...

This September has been pacing like a thunder and lightning...
We are working and studying like a bull...
Sweating and panting without breathing...
It is an eventful month i would say...
Lesson learned...
New friends met...
Growing gradually...

Two main event projects down the road...
Never ever did i expect myself doing this kinda event in this campus.
Neither did i expect the outcomes could and can be that overwhelming.
It's good to see everyone accepts each other's pros and cons.
Constructive and destructive criticisms.
As i've said, we learned as an organizer.
We learned from participants.

Firstly, it was UniYouth Leaders' Camp for the Club Pressies and Vice Pressies of UCSI!
Next, Psychology Club Mental Health Month Campaign... it's currently an on going event... =)
Most importantly, these are the club and new division which formed by our naked hands and bare feet. Bravo to everyone! :) It's never easy but they are worth taking attempts to try. Let's gambateh!
Stay tuned. I'll blog after i got all the pics. =D
