random
i just came back from my first ever night stop - manila nightstop. and it is really simply just a night stop. we arrived in manila at 9pm, and our call time the following morning is 5.45am. goodness. it just fits the criteria of 10 hours minimum crew rest. and it is really minimal. the only blessing is there is a complimentary packet of dried mangoes in the room for us. it is a huge packet by the way. and its so darn nice! sweet which i love. and the flight time is only 3 hours.
i was rostered for the flight, but many were called up. plainly because this lousy night stop has minimal crew rest with minimal allowances. it is the least amongst all nightstops and its even lesser than turnarounds. haha.. i am still glad i did the flight with a lovely set of crew. and i see the same cs whom i just flew with before this flight to beijing. nice man. =) and guess what for once i am not last on the crew list, not second last on the crew list, but the 4th from the end of the list. amazing ya?! which means there were 4 probationary crew. haha. and for once i get to choose my meals and the priority to eat first. keke. i know exactly how the rest felt, if i don't eat first, none of them dares to eat. so i have to start the ball rolling when my leading is doing sales. actually its quite fun to have 4 probationary crew on flight. none of them are extremely new, the most junior is about 2 months flying, thus we don't have to babysit anyone and we had fun in economy class. our leading was too busy with her sales cart and all the vovage reports for cmiv faults, let alone to monitor us. anyway i guess she would have join in the fun if not for the work. she is a joker by nature. funny leader to work with.
4 of us (2 stewardess and 2 stewards) met at the lobby immediately after check in. we had plans for a good massage. but to girls' disappointment, the concierge told us that in Philippines usually only the guys go for massaging. both trish and me were terrified, it seems dirt cheap for a good massage there. its only S$12 for a good 2 hours. neverthesless, trish and me headed back to our rooms while the guys proceeded. regrets soon flooded our minds the following day because the guys came back telling us that there were actually rooms for girls, its just that they usually only have male customers. haha.. it still sounded abit scary isn't it... moreover its a red, medium risk station. i just remembered when i told darling hui i'm heading to manila, she thought i'm going to milan! haha. joker hui.. i wish too! by the way, tanny's first solo is to milan. ~envy~
i met a family of pax onboard. after a long conversation we had, the father decided to matchmake me with his son who was sound asleep jus a few seats from his. haha. anyway he was nice, so does his wife. =)
i am having my off day together with dear tomorrow before i head to tpe-la on tuesday. i'll be 7 days away from home.. and thats my only long flight for the month of sep. darn. have been blessed with good rosters for the past months, luck is running away.. hurhur...
i miss the famous 5. hehe.. haven't been them seeing lately, in fact it has been months since we last met. time to meet up.. and we've arranged for 10th September for high tea. unfortunately lindy will be away. else famous 5 can reunite finally. hehe... and another sad thing is our plans for Famous 5 tpe trip together has to be called off because in the end only donna and myself can make it. we do it next year then alright my girls?
has been seeing my darlings more often lately. i'm happy to see that all are doing well, definitely better than a month ago. =)

the beijing bird nest
i'm still in beijing now.. i went to the grand stadium this morning. =) beautiful bird nest but unfortunately we are not allowed in. so we only stood outside for phototaking. i'm still contented. hehe. then we headed for a yummylicious beijing roasted duck.
i did a stupid and silly mistake with regards to work. actually its just of my blurness. erm.. hopefully i will not be penalise severely. prays and hope it will be resolve soon. learned the hard way again.

i was called up for shanghai flight for my 2 days standby. and it was a good and fufilling flight. i was excited when i saw dave's and chong's name on the crew list. i flew with them before. i did christchurch with chong, and seoul-vancouver with dave. and immediately i text them on msn that i'm called up for their flight. hehe. dave lives in the west too, so we arranged to take jeffrey's cab together. i still remember the jokes and fun we had during our seoul vancouver flight. its good to reminsce the good times again. hehee...
i had a very fufilling shanghai flightm, though its only a 2 days flight. 1 hr upon reaching the hotel, 8 of us met up after a good massage at the crew joint. its soo cheap and good can.. 2 hrs of foot and body massage cost me only S$20. =) after the good relaxing massage, 11 of us headed for a sumptous japanese ala carte buffet with free flow of alcohol. oh man we ate alot! we spent almost 4hours in the restuarant. the food is sooo good that i forgot to take a picture of the horrifying spread on our table.
after the sumptuous dinner, we headed to the dvd shop and i bought some dvds and the entire series of sex and the city. its dirt cheap in china!
i am so glad that i was called up for this shanghai flight and the crew were all spontaneous. else usually this kinda short flight, most of them will hibernate in the room.
on the return sector, there was a sudden change of aircraft, so 4 senior crew became paxing crew on our flight. and i worked as galley steward B2 position. this is the ist time wor! i was quite nervous before the flight, but thanks to dave, colynn, rosell and shawn who flooded me with information. i really appreciate their help. and the chief steward whom i'm working with guided me along the way. thank god. i survived. hehe.... though i was slow, and i did screwed up a bit here and there, but i am really glad it all turned out well. afterall there is always a first time ya..
roster is out finally, i'll be going to taipei - los angeles, maldives!!!! (my dream destination), beijing, dubai again (i tot i jus said no more dubai for me??!! thank god its only a 3 days flt this time), and manchester. alright tentatively i'm contented. =)

meetup with dearest yaying after almost 2 years!
a few of us arranged to meet yaying for dinner. she is back from hongkong. miss the good old times we used to have in school. i still remember chee wee said, "2 of u see each other everyday, sit together everyday, but 2 of you have endless things to talk about, behave like friends whom never seen for 10years." haha.. those were the days. fun school and band days. memorable.

i was listening to some band music yday then memories of the gd old days flooded my brain. rem how tanny and i just played our ist note, we are always in tune. the feeling is really good. it feels like 2 of us are singing with the band. i really enjoyed playing music then.
i'm just reminscing old times... =)
i was listening to music because i couldnt turn in till wee hours yday. shandy's face is swollen and itchy. ok i noe its already swollen, now its worse due to eczema reaction after the super dry and hot weather in dubai. i've seen 2 doctors, and went for facial. please let my face recover soon!!!!

i love my bf
i know bf for 10 years already. i can say we had a good amazing 10 years of a very interesting relationship. and i believe we have alot more 10 years to come... he has been my soulmate, playmate, buddy, good friend, family friend and lover. he is the very few who knows shandy inside out. he is my dearest.

on 19 aug 2008, 7 days after not being able to see bf, he handed a lv bag to me in the car. i took and opened the paper bag but without any thoughts in mind. i swear i didnt even have a quick thought that it was for me. as the red wallet peeped through the box, i was really really surprised. for a moment i was at a lost for words. it is the red wallet from lv that i merely made a comment it caught my fancy when we were shopping at dfs gallery 1 week ago. oh my goodness...
i am really really surprised and simply elated. from the point he handed the bag to me, he didnt utter a word. actions really speak louder than words. it is so heartwarming. =) i can say bf is actually quite good at surprises. i love bf sooo much... hee...
