Christmas

We had a great Christmas and Christmas Vacation. For Christmas Eve we went to Parris's Mom's house. We had a lot of fun there. Grandpa showed the kids how the toy train worked. We had a lot of good snacks and food. Towards the end of the night we opened Christmas eve Pajamas and cuddled up to watch a show before going to bed.


Collyn didn't get the whole Santa thing this year, but he did enjoy playing with all of his new toys.


We were also really lucky to get to see my family this year, they all come over to my house and we had a little Christmas party before they headed home.


Kelly and Charle came over and played in the snow with us. Kelly is awesome at making snow sculptures so with his help we made a toy train out in our front yard.

One Crazy Week!!

These past weeks have been the worst weeks of my life. It started off by an extremely busy week from baby blessings, a wedding and two family Christmas parties. Sunday Dec. 14th Parris and I thought we had finally finished the craziness, we were excited to get settled down and started watching Christmas movies with Collyn before he went to bed. Out of no where Collyn starts having a seizure. At the time Parris nor I realized what was happing, Collyn's eyes had rolled back and he was lifeless, he started turning blue but we could tell he was barely breathing. I ended up calling 911 and the operated guided us through what we should do. That night ended up with Collyn and I taking an ambulance ride to the emergency room. Being in the ambulance was one of the hardest things I had to go through. Collyn was starting to come out of his seizure but he was none responsive to me. By the time we got to the emergency room Collyn was doing well, he had a few different tests done to determine what caused the seizure. The doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him so they believe the seizure was caused from a temperature that ended up spiking.

3 days after the whole seizure episode I ended up going to Shreveport Louisiana to do a Supplier Training for my work. The night before I left Collyn was throwing up all night, this made it extremely hard to leave him. I was so worried that something was going to happen to him while I was gone. Parris did a good job of talking care of Collyn and keeping his temperature down while I was away.The whole work part of my trip to Louisiana went well, I was lucky enough to go with one of my good friends from work. We had a lot of adventures along the way but we took all of our traveling challenges in good stride.The Training I did was held at the Independence Bowl in a huge conference room. There were about 100 suppliers that showed up. Karen is with one of the Agency's who uses our system, she was so good to Betsey and I. Our last day there Karen rented us a driver that took us out to dinner and around Shreveport to show us the sites.
I was able to see a lot of fun things in Louisiana, but I am sure glad to be back home with my family.

Thanksgiving

My family was able to get together for Thanksgiving. My parents came in from Oklahoma and we all had Thanksgiving at my uncle's house in Mt. Pleasant. It was very nice to be with my family and we had a lot of fun together. I am very Thankful for my family, I didn't realize how important my brothers, sister and parents were until I started a family of my own.

After Thanksgiving dinner my family got together and played football. Parris started calling himself the "Black Shadow" because he was so good and would come out of nowhere to make plays.

Before my parents left for home I had a chance to hang out with my little brothers, Tyler, Konner, Kevin,. Collyn and I put up the movie screen and we all watched Christmas shows and ate lots of junk food.Collyn hasn't had much of a chance to get to know my dad because he rarely is able to come and visit. The last day my parents were here Collyn finally started warming up to my dad and this was a special moment the two of them had together.

Jump Shot

Collyn loves playing basketball and he has started to get a jump shot down. It's fun to see him shooting a basketball and actually making the shot.

4.Collyn's favorite sport is basketball, he will sit and watch basketball games with us and cheer whenever a basket is made. He also love to play basketball ...everyday he says, "mom i shoot." He will then go down to his play room and play basketball for hours.

5.Collyn best buddies are Reddek and Avery, he always asks for Red or Ravery.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween. Our family went to Joe and Andria's house and had a Halloween party and then we all went trick or treating around our neighborhood. Collyn didn't really get the whole trick or treating thing, everytime he got candy in his bucket he would pull it out and eat it.
Cousins Kennady, Sydney, Avery and Reddek(Reds costume was left home so his mom had to go grab it).I was in charge of my work's Halloween party this year. The party I feel went pretty well all but 3 employees dressed up.One of the competitions I had was between departments, every department needed to decorate their area and whoever had the most Halloween spirit won a pizza party. Of course my department won.

Happy 18th Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Tyler!!!!It is my younger brother's 18th birthday. Since he lives in Oklahoma I am giving him a birthday shout out on my blog. I have many memories of growing up with Tyler, he has always loved to cook. When he was maybe 3 yrs old he wanted to make a cake so he grab the cake mix and eggs and dumped all the ingredients into the toilet. I walked in to the bathroom to see him stirring the cake mix and ingredients in the toilet with the plunger. I guess he figured that since he couldn't find a bowl he would just make a cake in the toilet. Another fond memory I have of Tyler is of him getting arrest at the age of 6 for going around town and stealing things, I just happened to be tending while my parents were out of town so I got the pleasure of handling things with the police. Thanks for all the good memories Ty.

Cornbellys

This weekend our family went to Cornbellys with Kaite, Jason, Red, Julie and Brandon. We had a lot of fun hanging out and watching the little boys play. It is really nice to have family close to do fun things with.

Katie and Jason are one of our best friends and we always have a good time hanging out with them. It is also really nice that Collyn and Reddek are the same age and best buds.

Is that Parris or Nacho Libre??

What do you get with a Halloween costume and not a lot to do on a Saturday night? Parris dressed up like Nacho Libre and door to door stops at our neighbors houses. After we did surprise stops at neighbors houses Parris, Kelly, Charle, Jason, Katie and I went back to my place and made a movie for Kelly's dad Chad Moore. This is our version of Nacho Libre talking to Chad Moore (the prison guard). Nacho Libre

It is 10:00 at night and instead of Collyn being in bed like most kids his age, he is up watching a great, wholesome, children's movie called Nacho Libre. Whenever this show is on Collyn does not move a muscle, he sits and watches the whole show from beginning to end. This is the strangest thing to me because I have a hard enough time getting him to sit through a half hour episode of some random cartoon on the Disney Channel. I guess he really is Parris' son.

Singing On The Porch

Growing up Parris has a lot of memories of singing on the porch with his family while his dad played the guitar. Now that we have a big porch we are starting the tradition of singing on the porch with our family. Parris' brother Joe and his family came over and we also had some neighborhood friends over to hang out.

Lagoon

Over the weekend Parris' family got together and went to Lagoon. We got there at 10am and left at around 10pm. It was a long day but all the babies did great and we had a lot of fun being with family.

Breaking Dawn

On Friday a bunch of girls from my neighborhood got together to have a party for the release of the book Breaking Dawn. The book was being released at midnight so we all got together to have some good times.

We started off the night by going out to dinner at Mimi's Cafe. We ended up staying there for 3 hours just talking and hanging out. I bet the people working that night were so thrilled we were there. Kristina and I at Mimi's waiting for our food.
After Mimi's we went over to Barnes and Noble to go join the activities they had going on, but by the time we got there everything was shutting down. So for the last 2 hours before the book was released we hung out on the lawn and made a Chevron run.
Stacey and Andria were so good to stand in line to get our books while the rest of us hung out and waited. Thanks guys!!!!
FINALLY!!
At 12:15 a.m we ended up getting our books. (Too bad I'm still on the 2nd book so I wont actually get to read this book for a few more months)
