Hair Cut

High maintenance to say the least.  It has taken four years and one month to convince Cody that I am worthy of cutting his hair. Side note and I hate to brag but…  It is not like he shouldn’t trust me with his hair.  I have done cousins, friends, sisters, and mother of the bride wedding and dance hairdos.  Not to mention the continual daily niece hair style.  My specialty is the braid.  Now I am just bragging too much because honestly I don’t think I need to advertise my braids when I am talking about doing Cody’s hair!! Anyways, a continue argument of Cody’s and mine (yes we do argue for those of you who watched us and just thought our relationship is perfect) is that I like his hair long and he likes his hair short.  We always know who wins that one because it has yet to be long.  So when Cody said he needed a haircut and I replied with my usual, “I will cut it!” I got caught off guard with the surprising answer of, “okay fine,” and so I cut it instantly.  I rushed it because I was afraid he would change his mind if I gave him any more time. So I borrowed some clippers and talked to a hair stylist friend, who made me an expert in less than two minutes, because Cody was coming and I didn’t want him to know that I, Shaina, was getting advice.  Long story short, it didn’t go so bad, except the bald spot on the side that luckily Cody can’t see and a moment when I looked at him when I was in the middle of cutting and couldn’t stop laughing because he could pull off the retarded role in a movie if casted at that moment.  Cody, did put his hat on right away.  Because of my huge success, I did have to rub it in a little bit and do the I told you so comments.  So I just added up the money that we have wasted on hair cuts for Cody and so I have now paid myself that money plus tips and I am starting a Café Rio fund.  Now when I visit Utah I can have Café Rio for three meals a day.

Wife of a Farmer

Yes, Wife of a Farmer!!!!  Our summer is going as predicted.  Shaina: tanning, having play dates for 8 and younger, crafts, tanning…Cody: tractor, working on house, tractor, working on house, tractor…. Well, lets just say that I am learning more about the farm in the two weeks we have been here then I have learned in my 18 years of growing up here.
I came in from lunch today and non-dramatically (sarcasm), told my mom and sisters that I could write a novel about taking Cody lunch….It would be only one book in the “Wife of a Farmer,” series though. It would go something like this.
Small town equals smiles and waves.  Small town doesn’t equal reliable cell phone service.  While driving and talking on the phone to Cody, against the law in Washington, oops, our conversation went a bit like a eighteen month year old baby.  (again, side note, I had to take note that I am using the mother language of counting in months, I am so close to there, when I start saying numbers like twenty six months you will know that I am there.) Anyways, for those of you who are unsure of what an eighteen month conversation consist of, well it is full of one word back and forth and every other word is a repeat of the other persons word.  So, Cody would say tractor, I would say tractor, he would say yes, I would say where, he would say field, I would say Field? And it would keep going on and  on, getting nowhere.  Until eventually after calling back from a dropped call three times, I decided to just try and find Cody.  Royal is a small town right.  Well, I saw only a portion of it today and I have no desire to try and find out.   (see how this could be a novel, I will tell it in fast forward now)  I went looking for Cody.  After several gravel roads in a small car I was starting to see the fun in my adventure, because otherwise it would turn into tears.  I finally saw a pick up and waved it down.  Luckily, it was my brother so I asked him where Cody was at.  I got the directions, however, when I got there, after    realizing I was stuck, that my little car was not going to get me very close to Cody.  Therefore, with the three bags of food, a container, a jug of water, flip flops that are so flat there are holes, and our talks (yes I wrote Cody’s church talk and so I needed to inform him what was on it) I walked to Cody more then a half of mile away.  Excited to get on the tractor and just relax and eat I soon discovered that this field was way to bumpy and steep so I had to baby feed Cody while he was driving.   Let’s just say that the advice I got was to pack a lunch before he goes for now on.
Yes, long story but if you could imagine a novel and that is the details that you can enjoy about this adventure when I put it on the stands.  You say, I haven’t mentioned the house, yes, it is so unmentionable right now because of the emotion it brings.  J But lets just say it is still our pink palace. (meaning no paint model yet)

What can it be...me again...in one month!!!! YOU BET

With the new discovery of followers, who actually think I am somewhat intelligent, comes the new daily bloggers.  Okay, so daily is a little extreme and if you ever got to know me that close and personal you would not continue defining me as intelligent.  So it is going to be more like, weekly. (but who am I kidding be prepared for it to become monthly in a week.)

For those of who were just keep checking my blog to see what this glorious house looks like, knows as much as me still.  Cody is still not ready to face the emotional Shaina about the house.  Therefore, I have still not seen it.  I tired to get hired for the summer from my dad.  I wrote a cover letter, resume, and had letters of recommendation, however, I was still turned down.    He mentioned something about willing to hire someone after firing them but not willing to hire someone who had been fired from him more than twice, I couldn’t see any problems with that.   My cover letter was even amazing (except the grammar errors that were presented to me on my bed the next day, by my brother who took it upon himself to show me my errors).  I remember writing something about my amazing secretary skills and how every company needs a good secretary.  I talked about being close to the company and knowing the company. In my interview I told the boss that I was good with phones, which I demonstrated for him.  I also told him that I would play that fun music for people when they called, which was also demonstrated in my interview.  Yes, I am wondering too, why he didn’t hire me!! If you want to call and ever tell him that I was companioning for the job and that you think I would be a good fit for his business, make that call.  I am sure he and I would appreciate it. I guess I am just going to have to stick to the sun tanning, fun playing, baby-sitting summer.

On the other hand my dad has found little trouble in hiring my husband who is working ten hour days.  Yeah, that is me complaining.  It is a good thing that I have tank and dozer to look after me.  (No worries, I will not forget to mention those two in any of my postings!!!)

So as you can see Cody and I are both busing this summer: me- trying to get hired, tanning, and complaining.  Him- working.  Story of our lives!!!

THE PATH OUR LIFE IS GOING

So I guess I need to blog more.  There are people out there who read my blog and I didn’t even know it.  I am thinking about adding advertisements to my blog because I have so many followers.  (Again, there is sarcasm in that comment, I have one follower and she isn’t even my mother.)

Anyways to my life… Yes, all the rumors are true I am officially a Royalite.  For those of you followers from outside of the “reign of my youth” it is in Washington and it is pretty much a town from the movies, no traffic light, no movie theatre, my no’s could go on forever.  The most important and sad no though is Café Rio.  However, we have the real stuff, the taco wagon!  Come visit and I will treat you to it!! I am going to be teaching and Cody is going to be going to a local university for his master in Accounting.  He thinks that if he gets more schooling he can officially say he is smarter than me and I will have to obey and listen!! I am trying to tell him that no matter how much schooling he gets he will never succeed with teaching me obedience.  Now the best part of our move is the wondering house we will be living in.  That blog will be continued because Cody refuses to let me see it because he thinks I will cry.  I keep asking him about all the trailers houses around if it looks like that one.. .and he will just reply, “no, not really!!”  I am a little unsure if it is available because it is already occupied by all the local rodents.
P.S. No worries I added pictures of our babies...LOL:)

March Madness

This is the way that the night started out.  It was all smiles with great conversation, games, and food.  March is filled with March Madness.  I am not exaggerating when I say for the WHOLE month (that includes night hours, 24/7...) is spent watching march madness.  Therefore, in honor of the competitive month we decided to have a competition night.  Now if you know Amy and I you know that, that is not hard.  It is no problem to be motivated to beat our husbands.

This is how it started to go.  Amy and I kept losing all the games so we decided to pull of our hats a game that we were sure to win, because it was all communication, and we all know that boys in general are bad let alone the Cody's.  We played, "Kent," it is a game where you try and get a four of a kind before the other team.  Then you have to have your partner yell Kent before the other team yells bluff.  Amy and I had great signs planned and were ready to beat the boys.  We literally had a ten minute planning meeting while the boys felt ready and watched Jimmer.  We were ready to play.  The first round boys point.  We knew that was a fluke. However, by the time it was five zero we knew we needed to change our plan.  (note another planning meeting)  Note: that the first five wins were all won with no signs from the boys.  They would look at each other and just yell.  We caught a little bit of trying to cheat, so we FAIRLY started the game over with a clean slate.  It was going good a close game.  Then the last game to call the winner and the boys won.  Yes, they won.  Not to say we didn't try, there was several times that the boys didn't get anything out of us but glares.  However, after the boys celebrating.  Literally, with dancing.  We started to notice a little bit of guilty laughing.

So the boys got this (notice the quality isn't the best because we had to get this at the moments so we would get the authentic moments) We soon found out that there was a lot of cheating going on.  To make a long story short that had been cheating in a few Vegas style smart ways.  If only the brains went other places too.  They had been cheating the entire time to get their win!!!

Cody still laughing about it

An hour later still talking about their un integrity night.  Even though tonight Cody will be feeling good about winning.  Where it all matters in the eternities I will be feeling the win!!!:) (plus his back will hurt from the couch)

Our new loves

There are several names you could call us.
Homeless shelter, crazy, irrational, pet lover, and my favorite mom and dad!!! I am in a whole new world here. It is like how in Harry Potter there is that wizard street. Well in dog world there are things that I never even knew before I became part of the DOG WORLD. Did you know that there is a aisle in every store that has dog accessories (that we know have to go through every time we're in the store?) You know how when couples with kids go on double dates and talk about their kids. We now go on double dates with couples that have dogs and we tell dog stories. It got so bad that Cody had to tell me to quit talking about them. I have even received gifts from friends, neighbors, and family to welcome the new additions. Don't be surprised if my next post is an invitation to my dog shower. Anyways enough about me now lets talk about my dogs.
The big, brindle, boxer (see my new dog vocabulary) is Dozer. He is potty trained, can sit, loves Cody and is a great dog. We got him free from one of my students who had to get rid of him. The little, lovable, lab (yes another alliteration) is Tank. He sits, plays, and makes everyone melt. Anyways we got him from a student for free. Yes I know I get a new invitation for a free dog from a new student every day. Pretty soon we are going to have 28 dogs because every student wants to give me one now.
After reading this post I think I am crazy too. But they have been a lot of fun. I have been outside more than I ever have in the winter and I am more behind on my TV shows then I ever have been.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE

A FARM GIRL:
I am never sure if you would consider me a farm girl or not. Cody sometimes laughs and calls me a city girl because I don't always want to get dirty. However, my yard makes me realize that their is a farm girl inside me. There was only a small bush of grapes but yet we still got 15 bags off the thing. A lot of teachers wanted the grapes so I took them all to school. Our garden produces tons too. We have an amazing yard that we haven't had to do much to. We had great apricots, peachs, walnuts, and other great stuff. I love my life!!!!
