Non-sewy stuff ...

I've been busy, just notsomuch with sewing.

We are still playing baseball ......

(the one-handed hit)

(the excitement of the hit)

(the score)

And christening babies ....

(Ivy Rose)

(the family - and the preacher)

(the preacher at my daughter's church used to sit behind me in fourth grade and tie my hair to my chair. who'da thunk he'd be a preacher  - and christening my grandbaby?)

(my mom, dad, babygurl, ivy rose, sil, me, preacher)

(and more irresistable baby pics)

Pardon the mismatched photo sizing / quality.  Some are from my phone, some from my camera, some from other sources (including a screen grab from a video clip!)

I did do one little bit of sewing for a friend's daughter.

And I'm almost done with a set of bumper pads for Sadie's crib.
(photo later)

So ....... how was your week??

The Christening Quilt

These are just cell phone pics.  But Christening Day is just ten days away so I need to get this to BabyGirl so she can get everything ready for the big day.  I might be able to get better pics afterward.

The first two pics are before it was washed.  The last one is after washing.

The picture above shows more of the true colors of the quilt.  The ones below make the binding look purple, which it is not.  It is Kona Rose.  The quilt is from a Riley Blake - Willow layer cake.  The backing is Emmy Grace, Fawn Day Fantasy.

Babies, Dresses, and Baseball ...

Welcome to a new week.  It's been a busy one but not a lot of sewing.  I did make these little dresses a couple of weeks back, and finally got them gifted and the Momma's got me some pictures.

I had to make Ivy Rose a second one because the first one was too big.  I made it by the 0-3 months pattern and she was only just over six pounds so it swallowed her whole!  I cut it down just a little and made her another and it was a perfect fit.  (She also got a bib, which Sadie does not need)

Here are my sweet baby girls in their matching dresses.

And a couple more pics, just for good measure ...

Our Gabbie-Lou-Who also had her very first ever baseball game on Saturday.  She plays with the Field of Angels league.

Great picture of Gabbie and her "buddy".

Check out my right hand sidebar for all the great places I am linking up to this week!

WIP ......

Working on a quilt for BabyGurl's baby Ivy Rose (due in three weeks!) to have at her christening.  Of course I'll have a little extra time after she's born to complete it, but not too long.

I found some fabric she liked quite a while ago and bought a layer cake of it.  I found this simple pattern recently.  I've made 20 blocks (I didn't realize at the time this was a 24 piece layer cake, not a 40 piece one).  I did not use the three striped pieces, nor the solid white one.  The quilt will measure at  approx 34" x 42" with 20 squares.  I actually bought two layer cakes (thank goodness) so I could make another five squares so that it will be 42" x 42".  I'm still mulling that over.

So here we go with the crappy indoor pics.  My design wall is in the hallway .... zero natural light.

This is the fabric.  Willow, by Riley Blake.

I also want to ask a question/advise of my fellow bloggers today .... Do any of you use plastic snaps (bibs, diaper covers etc?) What brand do you use?  Where do you purchase your snaps (and tool)?
