Knitting While Serving

I am not a knitter. I know how to crochet granny squares thanks to my Grandmother, but I am really strictly a seamstress.
I do however really appreciate the artform and really loved this article in the Washington Post.

Deployed service members are knitting to relieve stress, monotony and sadness of war. I think this is such a wonderful program. Many of the women interviewed for the article expessed how creating beautiful things helped them mentally survive in an ugly atmosphere.
This is a wonderful article and a wonderful program. I hope more women can take advantage of this group and the calming benefits that knitting can provide to service women (and if they can get over their macho selves - men!)
