Whole Wheat Bread Recipe

Whole Wheat Bread
Jody Ludvigson

6 cups warm water
2/3 cup canola oil
2/3 cup honey
14 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons wheat gluten
2 tablespoons dough enhancer
2 tablespoons self-rising yeast
2 tablespoons salt

Directions
In the Bosch mixing bowl (can be done by hand, but won't be as fluffy) add warm water, 110-120 degrees, oil, and honey. Don't mix. Then add 8 cups of milled wheat flour--don't mix. On top of the flour add bread dough enhancer (buy at Macey's or Allisons's Pantry), gluten, and yeast. Mix on speed 1 until smooth. Let stand for 10 minutes. Next on speed 1 add the salt and the rest of the flour. If the dough is too sticky, add 1/2 cup flour. Set the timer for 10 minutes on speed 2. With Pam on your hands--form dough into 6 loaves. Spray bread pans with Pam and place dough in each pan. Allow the dough to rise 30 minutes. Place bread pans into a cool oven, then turn on the oven to bake loaves @ 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Directions for Placemat Tote.

I have had several inquiries about directions to the placemat totes we made at fantastic Friday. Here is a link with directions. The ones made were slightly different. Sew on all ribbon, embellishments, and handles before you sew bag together. We just had one seam on each side (just fold in half right sides together "hamburger" way and sew each side) then continue with the bottom like the tutorial on the link shows. The tutorial lines them and adds a pocket, the basic construction is the same though. I hope this helps!http://www.craftersvision.com/v/vspfiles/files/tote/placemat_tote.htm

Sewing Group starting soon.........

This is the apron that we will be making in a little mini class. It is super cute and flattering on any figure. It is reversible and an intermediate sewing project but with help anyone could do it. Penny Straton will be teaching the class. The date and time are still to be determined. If you are interested in signing up you can contact me, Jody at jodylud@cascadeaccess.com or Penny Straton. Penny will also be teaching a class to make a quilted wall hanging. It has a background, and then each month you make a different block to snap on and off. They are really cute. Contact Penny if you are interested in either of these classes.

1st place chili recipe......

This is the winning chili recipe from our first annual chili cook off. Kena Toone was the winner. It is very healthy and yummy! Thanks for sharing Kena. I am working on getting the winning cornbread and desert recipes. I will post them as I get them.

White Chicken Chili

1 T. veg oil
2 med onions- chopped (1 c.)
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 c. chicken broth
2 T. chopped fresh cilantro or 1/2 t. ground coriander
2 T. lime juice
1 t. ground cumin
1/2 t. dried oregano leaves
1/4 t. red pepper sauce
1/4 t. salt
1 can (11oz) white shoe peg or whole kernel corn, drained
1 can (15-16 oz) great northern beans, drained
1 can (15-16 oz) butter beans, drained (I use 2 cans great northern beans because butter beans are just like over-grown Lima beans and no one likes those, now do they...)
2 c. chopped cooked chicken breast

Heat oil in 4 qt. Dutch oven over med heat. Cook onions and garlic, stirring occasionally until onions are tender. (Don't brown garlic.)

Stir in remaining ingredients except chicken. Heat to boiling, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes, uncovered. Stir in chicken and simmer until hot.

Serve with sour cream, crushed tortilla chips, tomato, cilantro, cheese, or whatever fixins you like.
