28 Weeks

Here's my recent Belly Picture.

I was on my way to a doctor's appointment yesterday - that's why I actually made the effort to get ready for the day. They scheduled me for another appointment in two weeks. What? It's already time for the every two week appointments?!

The baby and I are doing well. I had to do the glucose tolerance test. The nurse only had to prick me once to take my blood this time. That was nice. (Last time it took two different nurses, five stabs, and lots of fishing around to locate the vein.)

Well, we were able to enjoy our SEVEN YEAR annivesary this weekend.

We celebrated by heading out to a State Park an hour away from our house for some fun outdoors. We haven't been exploring in Texas yet and we were very pleased to find our new favorite camping spot! We went on a little nature hike. It was beautiful and wooded and shady - perfect for a pregnant woman and a four year old child. Adam mentioned how cool it would be to put a rope swing up...and then we spotted one! It was so fun. The lake was surprisingly warm. It was almost too warm, but we all loved it. Caden kept saying what a great adventure we were having. Adam took Caden across the lake in a small boat we brought and I met them on the other side. It was a great day and I didn't take enough pictures, but that gives us a good excuse to head back soon.

YUCK! My Innie has turned into an Outie. Isn't that supposed to mean Time's Up?

Well I'm only 28 weeks and 4 days...so Time is definitely NOT UP yet. Will somebody please explain that to my belly button?!

What's in the Apple Juice?

Here's a story for CA's journal. I was making him apple juice today and I was just about to stir it so it would all blend in... you know what I mean? Well, he was watching me with a very confused look and asked me, "what is that floating all around in there...POOP?" I looked at him and told him - of course it wasn't poop. I told him I would never put poop in his apple juice. It made me laugh to say that. And then, how could he think I would actually be mixing up poop in his apple juice? What kind of mother does he think I am? Where does he come up with these crazy things?

So we actually had a fun 4th of July. Of course Daddy had to miss out and work... But CA and I got up early to eat breakfast at the church (yum). After that, we went to swim and play with my brother, and then we got front row seats to a huge firework show! Yes, TV fireworks are awesome too. (I didn't want to drive somewhere to fight the traffic and crowds by myself.)

They did some new fireworks I hadn't seen before... and I think the smiley-face ones were my favorite.

We didn't make it home until 11pm (what a long day) and CA was able to fall asleep in the gameroom while watching even more fireworks out our big window. What a fun way to drift to sleep.
