idiot's guide to rotting at home

wednesday morning week's been pretty stale so far. not much going on except attempting to prepare for World Skills. floorball season's over for me. but still tied up with refereeing and other SFA comm stuff. blah

played badminton on monday with sean khalique brandon reena gary and marilyn. been almost 6 years since i last played. haha. how one can give up a sport after bitter disappointment. well. i'm obviously very rusty. can still serve pretty well though.. hahs..

walked along the hdb estates while looking for food. it's a nice feeling to walk in a neighbourhood and have people recognise you and then sit around and chat and stuff. things i enjoyed back in serangoon gardens.. perhaps private apartments don't quite cut it for me. convenient yes. but sometimes it's the simplicities of life that one can really miss..

watched V for Vendetta with ben and ivan at the new Cathay cinema. the show was pretty damn good. makes your brain work to follow all the english (and i mean ENGLISH english) descriptions and blabbering

prom!

thursday morning ict prom nite 2006. over. concluded. ended with a bang and it definitely started with one.

hossan brought the house down with his contagious sense of humor. the ah beng jokes. the star wars jokes. the way he embarrased the prom king and queen nominees. his buzzer game (hahahahaha!).. thankfully almost everyone was able to catch his jokes however subtle they were.

food wasnt all too bad. didnt have much though. was too busy running around. so for most part, the prom comm's table was almost always empty.. the ambience was fantastic. just the right amount of people (though it was abit disappointing to a certain extent).

shaun was nominated for prom king. think he did great especially with his Kung Fu Fighting dance "routine".. haha. sadly he got only 2nd. jesline won the prom queen but it was a close one with sharlene.. sharlene did great with her own dancing too. haha. but hell. i think all of the participants did well..

anyhows. to the prom comm. for all our differences, bitching and whining. i think we did a good job. satish and amy helped loads. sadly we're still stuck with financial problems. haha! hell. let's not think about that too much..

great to see lionel again after a long while. thanks dude for helping with photography.. madelyne for just turning up. brings a smile to anyone with your quikiness..hehe..thanks for coming.. haha!

oh oh! emily wore a dress! haha. i think it's the first time i've seen her in a dress since year one. hahahaha! had a fun time taking photo after photo. photos that will mean a lot in months and years to come.. for all that's been said and done. poly life is the best thus far as compared to primary and secondary schools. maybe because it's where i've learnt alot. loved and lost alot too.. memories. every single one of them.. priceless.

sunday hated today's game. ran till i wanted to vomit. 9 players against the defending champions. kristian scored 1 or 2 against us. so did nicklas. but other than that. i think we did a pretty good job of marking those 2. but we neglected the rest and we paid for it. 13-1. hah. what a mauling. am absolutely tired. need rest. loads of it. prom's this week. and i'm still pissed off. but hey. just get it over and done with then i can totally relax. hahs.

monday morning prom. i'm bloody pissed off with it. some things aren't going to well and some people should really go screw themselves and bloody die. all because of $5 bloody dollars. what the fuck?

i'm fucking pissed because people keep comparing this year's prom with last year's. we're having it in merchant court while last year was at fullerton. now. the key difference here apart from the location is the food and the emcee. top notch food in merchant as compared to crappy food in fullerton. funny and witty hossan in merchant as compared to crude and not-too-funny daniel ong. well. if people feel that $60 is too much to pay for stuff like that. all i can say is you're missing out. missing out and you deserve to be shot for your inability to see beyond what's in your face which probably looks like shit. and yes. i'm writing in a very angry state now because of what's happening behind the scenes.. of course i can't say anything here so i'm keeping it to myself.. if prom meeting later's going to be shitty, i'm considering walking out on the comm. i'm past my limits and my ability to take this kind of nonsense..

npfb chalet was great. was emotional too. didn't think i'd feel the way i felt, especially when the official handover got underway. didn't know what to say when i was asked to give a speech. mind just went blank. i never thought i'd miss the people, the committee, the guys team (even those not in the ivp squad), the girls team and even all the nonsense yazid and i got from sdar and the rest of the guys.. looking back, well. it's been good and bad. for the most part, there've been alot of times when i felt like giving up, things never seemed to go right and it got all worse when people starting backstabbing me and a couple of other guys. but hey. at the end of the day, things ended on a high. i think i've left my mark (positively) no the club, the most prominent of which are the boards that are coming in today (in the afternoon i think). other than that, i hope everyone else will recognise the work i've done.. so that's that with npfb. i'll cherish the memories 'cause that's all i have left of it.. what a journey..

so friday night was spent at the chalet. was basically a huge bungalow where lee kuan yew stayed in before.. cool eh? some cottage thing at aloha changi.. went out for nasi lemak at changi vllage before heading back to the chalet. chiong-ed xbox with zak hubert shane nicholas and another guy whose name i cant remember from 2+am till 10. 8 hours of xbox. woah..

spent saturday night in keith's house with mel. watched final destination 3 and played xbox. haha. slept kinda late. around 3 i think. was so totally knocked out by then.. woke up at 1.30pm i think.. so went to tsh with them and watched a game before heading out for lunch with cedric keith and edmund. won't say the lunch went really well. keith and i almost flared up. shan't talk about the problems now. really pointless. game ended in a 9-3 win for innebandy but i feel we could have put up a better fight if we had more than 9 players. think what brandon and gary said is true. i need to know how to bring the ball up. can't always be doing the same thing over and over again. oh. took a knee to my stomach too. damnit. i'm like the most abused player in skools floorball...

thursday morning been a weird couple of days. painful too. hah. first off. got a concussion and a very bad injury during the game against Moosemen. was though on goal when their 2nd goalie slid out and tackled me (kick to the shin too).head bounced off the parquet floor and then after a mad scramble of sorts. someone stomped/fell on my head. thankfully wasn't knocked out cold.. spent a long night in changi general hospital. had xrays taken and all. well. scary as it may be. think when it comes to head injuries. every precaution should be taken. so yup. i don't intend to stop floorball anytime soon..

helped to conduct the match secretary course with rello. was kinda dumb in my opinion. hah. going for the refereeing course later. counducting with faizal. oh. been refereeing the inter-school C division girls floorball. quite funny the way they play. haha. all the goalies seem to want to sit on the floor and slide around on their asses.. fun.

team bonding. what does that all mean? to put it in context. having gone for national selections and having trained in MI for almost 4 months. i dare say that the one thing that binds us all together is the hardship of training. the physical trainings that we all dread serve not only to make us fitter. but also to bring us closer as a team. at least that's what i feel. that's how i've felt. sadly not everyone feels the same. there are those who make use of friends, make new friends and then forgets you, friends who come to you only when they need help, let's not forget also those who have grudges, are unhappy and remain silent. those who feel that they are better than what people give them credit for. be it good or bad. i figure that's what being a team is all about.

skools being the largest club in singapore (note: a club with 3 div 1 mens teams, 2 div 1 ladies teams and 2 div 2 mens teams. that makes it 7 teams in total), surely has a large pool of players, a large talent pool at that. but it's sad when the players show no gratitude to the coach, the team and the club that has brought them so far, only for them to leave once they've become good players and then go on to other clubs. well. it's arguable as to whether or not it's fair for the abovementioned 3 "elements" but somehow i get the feeling that alot of players are beginning to forget their "roots" and the true meaning of floorball: fun. it has come to the point where players want to win at all costs, which is fine, but to what extent? making alot of people upset? feeling frustrated with their ownself or their fellow players and making enemies along the way? food for thought maybe? who knows. as far as i'm concerned, i'm enjoying myself thoroughly (well, not entirely thoroghly. but enough) in skools floorball. and there are offers to "promote" myself to innebandy. so a decision has to be made and i'm not going to make it till the season ends. i owe it to floorball's vig tero juha chau and even dan for what they've taught me and for helping me get to where i am now (easily one of the top 5 players in the team and definitely the youngest). so we'll see what comes. =)
