Since i'm too free
It has been a very eventful week for me! Winning IBA Unplugged was definitely a highlight, and the feeling of winning the competition was ecstatic!
And just last week i hiked up Mount Tahan with Peter, Tee Keat, Michael, Wai Hang and my "beloved" brother - Nigel. Not so ecstatic, but a reasonable amount of fun!
Let me start with a few fun facts about Mount Tahan taken from Wikipedia before i start my post.
"Mt Tahan aka. Gunung Tahan, at 2187 m is the highest point in Peninsular Malaysia. In Malay language, "gunung" means "mountain" and "tahan" means "endure". Thus the name of the mountain suggests that a certain level of physical endurance is required to conquer the mountain. Gunung Tahan is considered by many to be one of the toughest treks in Peninsular Malaysia.
"Climbers without adequate physical fitness or training are not advised to attempt Gunung Tahan."
No problems there for me obviously.
HAHA
Moving on...

Us at the bus station waiting for our delayed bus
Left to right: Me, Peter, Tee Keat, Michael, Wai Hang and Nigel
Took a bus on Sunday 1 am and reached Taman Negara, Pahang 4am. We waited and slept at some run down bus stop before we started our hike at around 10am on Monday.

We needed to cross a few rivers. And those algae rocks and that strong river current weren't too friendly with me. But we managed.

This is a leech.

Us camping a night at one of the camp sites, before heading for the peak the next day.

The peak, finally...
It was really cold up there because of the strong wind. And to make matters worse, it rained heavily too. But that definitely didn't stop me from bathing (unlike some people, names shall not be mentioned here). I was too dirty and sweaty to not bath. hehe So i gathered up my courage and SPLASH SPLISH SPLASH! And BRR BRR Brrrrr! Cold!
Omg, i got to stop this.
Anyway, we hiked home the following day. Peter and I decided to run down home, probably cause we have had enough of this Man vs Wild thing (and also some incentive provided by KFC in town).
Had our glutton meal at KFC then took a train back home to Kl Central that night. KTM was in really bad shape. My bunk was really gross as they did not clean up my bed. The sheets looked so messy and I only could imagine some sweaty gross man was sleeping there before me. What to do, no choice but to make do. EWW EWW EWWW
...
"Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez and Berbatov coming at you. God have mercy on our opponents!"

The battery for my camera died la, so could not take any pictures.
