Eastering....

I came across this recipe the other day for making hot cross bun french toast and couldn't resist giving it a go. Wow. Just scrumptious!

Hope you're all enjoying your Easter break and thinking today of the sacrifices made in order to enjoy this beautiful country of ours freely.

Flea Market finds

Paris flea market finds

Can't resist playing along with Sophie this week. Vintage glass buttons and vintage ribbon, purchased last Saturday at the best flea market in the world, the Paris flea market. You may now turn green with envy. (hehe)

The trip...

viviersb&w

Okay. So I'm sure you're all just chomping at the bit to know how my trip to France was aren't you? Yeh, I thought so. Well, there really is only one word for it. Wow. France was everything I thought it would be and more. For the first 4 or 5 days I was kind of in a bit of shock that I was really in fact there. Then we came to this town called Viviers and I had a little moment while gazing out on this perfect view behind the Cathedral of Saint-Vincent and finally realised, I really was there.

I won't bore you with all the details of my trip, so I'll be as brief as I can. We started out our journey flying in to Nice and spent the first night in Monte Carlo. We had the next day to wander around Monaco then headed off to Arles by coach to meet the ship. We cruised the Rhone through Provence up to Burgundy for the next week. Then on to Paris. What can I say about Paris! So amazing, so crowded, so hectic! We managed to fit quite a few things into our stay, including the Paris flea markets, which will get a post all of it's own.

The cruise was definitely my favourite part of our the trip. The food, the atmosphere, the pace, the sights, all just fabulous. Ever since I was in high school I have wanted to visit Provence, even more so than Paris, so seeing it the way we did, from the water, was just wonderful.

I'll try not to bang on about my trip too much, after all this meant to be a craft blog! But if you are interested in seeing more of my photos from the trip, I will be blogging them on my photo blog, daily (for probably about the next five years!).

So, if you really don't mind hearing more about the trip let me know. I will be more than happy to chew your ears off about it!

Oh, and for those of you interested, the flights didn't go that bad. There was nowhere to plug in the oxygen concentrator, but I managed to do just fine with the limited battery supply I had. I ended up with about 6 hours total oxygen (for 20 hours total flight time, each trip) but I just didn't move around too much, you should have seen how swollen my legs and ankles got, talk about cankles! Anyway, it was all far less dramatic than I thought it would be, though I still would not recommend Emirates to anyone, especially if you need any extra assistance.

Bonjour (or Bonsoir as the case may be!)

Finally home! While I loved France so much, I have never felt better flying into Brisbane early this morning, it's good to be home.

Just wanted to share 1 photo for now, the view from our hotel room window over Paris, at sunrise. Ahh Paris, she did not disappoint.
