Abbi's First Day of Preschool

I'm not sure who was more excited for Preschool, Abbi or myself!
She started August 16th. This photo was taken at 8:00am. Preschool starts at 8:30. She nagged us that she was going to be late! Booty shot! Her backpack is too big for her! Hopefully it will last another year!Daddy's girls!Abbi taking pictures of the drive to preschool. We walked Abbi in and she seemed fine, so we left. We were getting Kenna in the car she had a concerned look on her face that we had just left her sister! It was cute! When we were home, Josh asked Kenna what toy she always wanted to play with, but that Abbi would never share. Kenna was in heaven for a while and then a little sad that Abbi was gone. Now Kenna loves having 1-1 time and not being picked one!

When we picked Abbi up, I asked her if she liked preschool and she responded, "Mom, I LOVE PRESCHOOL! I GET TO COLOR, PAINT, USE SCISSORS!" Too cute!

Later that day, Abbi was stung by a bee on the back of her leg.

Kenna needed a band-aid to match!

Swimming Pool

We spent $26.99 on a swimming pool from Target. It has been the best investment this summer. Its 10ft by 6ft so Josh and I fit in great and there is still TONS of room for the girls to play!

Current Day to Day

So I can pretty much count on a few things to happen each day.
1. Kenna is a messy, but good eater, so her outfit changes a minimum of 2 times a day. She has also recently decided that food must go in her hair at each meal. Depending on what we are doing, also depends on what she gets for breakfast and lunch. I refuse to bathe her 3 times a day - so she gets the diaper wipe treatment and a bath at the end of the day.

2. Kenna LOVES LOVES LOVES dressing up in Abbi's clothes. Her current obsession is grabbing adult socks and wearing them as leggings.2. Abbi also LOVES to play dress up and usually ends up with a jacket on. (I have no idea why?!?) Kenna is also wearing Abbi's dress. This outfit is for hurting bad guys! Yes, she put her Dora guitar in the back of her shirt and twisted it around. I stopped questioning my children a long time ago. 3. Books or puzzles (sometimes both) dumped out everywhere. They love bringing a stack of books to my mom and have her read to them. It makes dinner prep 10 times easier that way!

4. Shoes dumped out everywhere! My children are dumpers! They grab a bin of toys, clothes, puzzles, books, etc and dump. They play for 2 minutes and move onto something else. I'm working on training them to not be this way. I can't function with a mess everywhere! So in order for them to get a new toy out, they have to pick up a mess. It seems to go okay most days!

July

In July we took our annual trip to Blanding for the 4th of July/Calie's birthday. We ended up leaving a day earlier than scheduled due to the power going out for several hours and the uncertainty of it coming back on! It ended up being better to travel through the night! I'm sure some of my in-laws have pictures of us on a float! Since Gramps passed away, they had a float in his honor (he lived in Blanding for like 60 years). Josh and I rode with the great-grandchildren in the back of a fishing boat. Here are some pictures of the girls at the fireworks.Abbi doesn't like loud noises, so we bought her some headphones and they worked great! I think this was the first year she actually enjoyed fireworks!
We also went up to Pinetop and Eagar for a Non-Family Reunion. We had one scheduled, but there was a lot of complications going on, so they canceled it, but those who still wanted to come play could! Here are pictures of us playing at a park in Pinetop. While at the park, we were on a walk with Sam and Anna's family and someone spotted a frog on the bank of the lake. It was like someone flipped a switch, because all of the adults (me included) turned into little kids and decided to have a contest to see who could hit it with a rock or at least get it to move. Ummmmmm we all suck! That's not true. We all got very, very, very, close to the frog, but no one hit it!

June

We had out first ultra sound at 12 weeks to make sure our due date as correct! To our surprise, we also found out we were having a BOY! I was soooooo happy!!!!

We did the Free First Friday of the month at Phoenix Children's Museum with my cousin Sam and Anna and their two kids, Coltin and Addyson. That's Sam crawling through the huge jungle gym looking thing they have!

We also went to the zoo with Michael, Saundra, Saudra's sister and her kids! It was a lot of fun! Side note: do not go before 7:30! There are NO animals out! LAME!

A few days later we discovered I have an SCH again. Click here to find out more about it! There was a better website I found, but now I can't seem to find it!
The girls did swim classes at Kino Junior High. I wish we would have taken pictures of them at the pool. Kenna would participate for the first 10-15 minutes and then spend the next 10 being a stinker. Abbi refused to participate in 80% of the activities! Bummer! I think next year we will put them in a swim class taught at someone's home!

Josh also turned 30! I had a lot going on so I really didn't throw him a "themed" party like I normally do. I did talk to 30ish people about their favorite memories of Josh and made a book for him! It was really neat to read all the stories! We did order a 28inch pizza and it was delicious! I feel bad that I don't have any pictures! Oh well!

May

May was a rough month! I was soooooooooo ready to be done with teaching and Josh's grandpa passed away. We made a quick trip to Blanding. Here's a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Skinner when Abbi was a baby!
I celebrated my 29th birthday! I'm getting old! Josh and the girls surprised me with a cake and ice cream! Josh gave me a pressure cooker in April as an early present, because I wanted one sooooo bad and wanted to start cooking with one. I make a pretty good meatloaf and a chicken tortillini!
Pictures from my classroom. My BFF Emily Miller and Student Council kids decorated my classroom!

Here are some pictures of my final days in my classroom!

The last day of school, Josh and I went on a day date to Oregano's for lunch and stopped at the local skate shop and bought him a skateboard! Its been fun to watch him and the girls play!
