It is almost christmas
but i barely notice it this year
where i am now, there are
no dazzling decorations
no shopping sales.
Life goes on.
it has been almost a week since i got to this quiet little town
and i have learnt so much since,
I remember to appreciate life even more,
The simple things like friendly smiles from villagers,
The sound of gushing water from the nearby stream in the early morn,
I learnt to take a step back from the immediate,
waiting two hours for the next bus because the first one was too crowded is not an issue,
if the average travelling speed crawls at 30km/h, it is fine
Time is not the essence here
I have reminded myself that i can be contented with my own company
and that is the first step to love and happiness.
But more importantly,
I witnessed joy, sincerity and generosity amidst poverty,
Now, what riches are you looking for this "festive season"?
