Easter-Tulip Festival

Happy Easter Everyone :)!

Seth and I have enjoyed our first Easter on our own.  We have discovered that we are now the Easter Bunnies!  After realizing this last night-we ran out to WalMart and grabbed a few things and made our Easter basket together.

We had a wonderful church service this morning-and taught children's church for the second service.  Afterwards I got to play with our friend's girls-and snatched Madilynn up for a picture

I finally was able to snatch my own husband away to take a family picture :).

So I absolutely HAVE to tell you my sad dress story that happened this morning.  So I'm very use to wearing dresses on Easter Sunday-especially in the South (it's warm enough there).  I was trying things on this morning to figure out what dress I'd wear for church.  It was 30 degrees when I checked with a high chance of rain-so I had a small dilemma with all my short sleeve dresses.  I tried leggings with a few dresses-and Seth told me negative (he didn't like it).  I finally tried leggings with just a long colorful shirt---thinking I was definitely cute I asked Seth.  He looked at me and told me, "That's what you want to wear?  Erika, we are going to church-that's not enough-and the leggings are to tight."  Talk about a girl's self-esteem :).  But he was right-I was just trying to put something dresslike together-and it didn't work.  I finally threw on some light khaki's and a blue shirt-with a sweater.  I refused to wear a jacket (even though it was needed b/c it was definitely chilly) because I wanted to look somewhat cute.  Anywho-shopping for new clothes and dresses are on my list of things to do :).

Yesterday we joined a friend couple and trucked down to Salt Lake for the Tulip Festival.  Another sad sad cold Utah story-I tried to dress cute with a pretty long sleeve shirt and sweater-but it was sooo cold that I had to wrap up in my big black jacket.  Which, you folks already know about since you've seen it in all my pictures.  I just want to throw out there that I do dress up and try to look nice for my husband-it's just so cold that I have to wrap up :(.  ANother reason why I can't wait until warmer weather-and most definitely the BEACH!
Anywho-just want you to remember under the black jacket I was dressed very nice :).

So I know I am a white person that needs to be kissed by the sun.  Hopefully Utah's weather will cooperate and you will see me without this black jacket!

Coming to An End.

The past 11 days have flown by as fast as the snow flurries that have accumulated on this Utah ground.  That analogy doesn't really go well together but you must get my point!  We have had maybe 3 pretty days while Mom and Aunt Macka have been with us--and those other days have been full of snow, snow, snow.....and snow.  It has gotten pretty ridiculous and sort of depressing if you really sit and think about it.  It is basically mid-April and we have had days upon days of just plain cloudy snow filled days.  I'm SOOOO ready for heat-sun-shorts-tank tops-shortsleeve tops-flops-etc...  I'm glad they were able to get a few pretty days-but at least they will now understand when I whine and complain about cold and snow :).

I've already mentioned in a previous post about how spoiled Seth and I have gotten over the past 11 days.  We keep asking each other, "How are we going to live without them now?  What are we going to do when they leave?"  We have gotten decorating tips-junk/snack food out of the whazoo-clothes washed and hung up-cleaner home-spotless pots and pans-FREE DISHWASHING, etc. etc.. :).  Ahhhhhh, what are we going to do when these lovely Southern women leave?

Here are a few more pictures that I wanted to post.

Pretty Evening-After Snowing ALLLLLLL day.

Oh, how we are already looking forward to the beach to see these lovely ladies  and the rest of our families!  Having family here just makes us realize how much we miss everyone and what wonderful families that we have-although Vic has already told me this was her last plane trip so we have to move back within driving distance (preferably South Carolina!).

Seth stated that he wished we would have kept a tally of the times that Momma would inform us that we are to move back South this time next year (after Seth graduates).  It probably was 25 plus--Maybe more :) (a tad exaggeration there but this did occur pretty often).  Seth and I have come to the conclusion this is why they spoiled us soooooo this week--to make us miss home and having so much family support! :).

Well family--it is on our schedule to move back South. :)

Tumbling Falls.

Please excuse my blogging slackness lately.  I'm going to continue to be slack with the blogging until my lovely visitors head out (next Monday or Tuesday)-but just wanted to throw a couple of humorous pictures out there for you guys :).

My Mother and Aunt Macka flew in last Saturday and we have SOO enjoyed having them in Utah with us!  I'll go into more detail later with everything but a few fun facts.

-My mom got a little motion sickness on the flights to Utah-and isn't looking forward to flying home (So I've concluded my whole plane deal must run in the family blood).
-It has dumped snow on us several times since the arrival of our guests--and weather channel says it will be like this until they leave.  I'm sure they will get tired of all this snow.  Especially since it causes incidents like this.....

Vic falling on her bum.

Aunt Macka falling on her knees.

They both fell at Bear Lake within seconds of each other and we all had a good chuckle from it (and still chuckling at times).  Seth and I are sooo enjoying having them here with us and just being completely 100% SPOILED ROTTEN!

Below is a chilly/windy picture from Beautiful Bear Lake.  One of the 'Pretty' days we were able to travel here-and it was GoRgEoUs!

I'll update more fun stories of our guests and our life next week sometime!
