Stories

So, we haven't been so great about taking pictures so here are a couple of stories...

1.  On Sunday, September 11, we went to the 1100am church service.  Because it was the first Sunday school of the school year, Hannah wanted to sit in church with us and then go after the Children's moment.  So, when it came time for the Children's moment, she said "I can go by myself, mom."  And she did!  Derek and I were beaming!  Then when it was time to go to class, she walked by waving knowing exactly where to go for Sunday School.  Derek and I still beaming - our little girl so grown up!  At the end of the service, I go to pick her up and I see her wearing a name tag with the name "Elizabeth" on it.  I look at her and say, "Hannah, what is wrong with your name tag?"  "Mommy, I told them my name was Elizabeth.  I was being silly."  Relieved the new Sunday school teachers came and said that they didn't catch us on her way in and they couldn't find an Elizabeth on the list, but had added her.  Speechlessly, I replied that in fact, her name was Hannah "Elizabeth" Miller.  Remember - this kid is 3 years old...oh dear are we in for a ride =)

2.  Monday night we were folding a ton of laundry.  We could only find the bottoms to Eli's PJs.  Finally, we found the top and placed it over his head.  Once his big head popped through the shirt and he said "Peek-boo dadda!"  So sweet - such a big boy!

Greg and Linds

We were lucky enough to have these 2 intelligent, and definately talented University of Wyoming (we won't hold that against them "GO BIG RED!) college students to come visit us over Labor Day.  Yes we made them endure (it wasn't that bad) the Husker game.  Made them walk to the zoo where there were more people than we have ever seen before and a 40 minute line at the best ice cream place (Ted and Wally's - shout out to Shelli) in Omaha.  However, it was a good time had by all as they bonded with their niece and nephew who keep all on their toes =)
Tried to get a pic with the giraffes for their mother - since the weather was perfect - the crowd was not.  Could never have imagined that we would have such a great opportunity to bond with my lil' bro and sis (who by the way are both taller than I, as predicted) and help them to get to know our kids.  They have grown into some pretty great people and I am excited to watch them continue to grow - all 4 of them since I can remember when both Greg and Lindsey were my kids age - how time flies!

The Bubba

My not-so baby boy...goodness...hard to believe that just 2 short years ago we moved his sister into a big girl bed to prepare her for the new arrival.  Now we have a sweet, biting (boo), little charmer who loves trains, cars, his blanket, and books.  Here is a glimpse into night time in his "Choo-Choo" PJs.
Who can resist this kid?

Air Show

So finally after 2 attempts due to a severe thunderstorm, we made it to Offut Air Force Base for the last 30 min of the air show.  Offut was where President Bush flew on Sept 11, 2001 - kinda scary.  Anyway, we were lucky enough to take our plane-loving son to see more planes within reach than he had ever seen.  He loved it.  Here is a pic of a proud dad and sweet son.
Mommy and the babes - the air show reminded me of Billings - living on the Rimrocks and not ever having to go to the air show because they all flew over my backyard while I was playing Home Run Derby with Josh and his friends.  Next year we can make it for more than the last 30 min =)

And a scary plane from Arkansas - can you see the Razorback resemblance??
