To counteract the cheesiness of last post...

The Village is really an awesome place to live. They paid for a night out at Trios restaurant, where they had a live Jazz band playing and we got free appetizers (calamari, YUM). It was mostly for couples, but since getting a sitter at 9 pm isn't really realistic for us, my friend Mehreen and I rallied the ladies together and we left the men home and made it a girls night out. At first we sat ourselves at the only table left, RIGHT in front of the band. We couldn't hear, think, or talk, and I felt a migraine getting ready to surface. Luckily, amid laughs from the rest of the bar, we all got up and moved ourselves to a remote corner of the bar and found it to be less atmospheric, but much more pleasant since we could now talk the night away. Might I add this was my first time EVER in a bar? And the first time EVER to be carded? (No worries Mother, I didn't drink, you silly goose) Thank-you my AWESOME friends (and Village) for a GREAT night out!

And I could not ask for more...

These are the moments I thank God I'm alive
These are the moments I remember all my life
I've found all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more.

These are the moments I know Heaven must exist
These are the moments I know all I need is this
I have all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more

Every prayer has been answered
Every dream has come true
Right here in this moment
Is right where I'm meant to be
And I could not ask for more...
(Edwin McCain, I could not ask for more)

Okay call me lame, but this sums up exactly how I feel this morning. My life is so perfectly perfect, and I could not ask for more!

So I have a super cool learning tool for kids. And I want to share it with all of you. It's called, The letter Factory and it is the best kids show ever! All my kids have learned their ABC's and their sounds from this video. And for some reason, they love to watch it over and over again. I didn't discover it until after Tamsyns Kindergarten teacher recommended it for all her students and my MIL gave me a copy of it (She's an excellent 2nd grade teacher). So by the time my kids go to kindergarten, they are already well on their way to reading. Any way, if you have a 3 or 4 year old, buy this show, and have your child watch it every day. What advice do you have on how to help my preschooler learn his letters? We are still in the process, and I would love any additional helps you know of.

GREAT news!

I talked to Tamsyn doctor yesterday and she told me all of the blood work and the other tests all came back perfectly clean! YEAH! She said that she isn't concerned about her, that it is probably a reaction to a virus she got a couple of years ago and over time, it will get better and she will grow out of it. WaHOOO! I thought this was great news. So now I don't have to obsess over JRA, or leukemia, or hodgkins disease, or lymphoma. (The doctor didn't even mention any of this diseases, thats just how my crazy mind thinks...) So three cheers for a daughter who is going to be JUST FINE!

On a more negative note, I am a little concerned we don't have a name for her problem that can be fixed with a small pill, but hey, who am I to whine? SHE IS GOING TO BE JUST FINE! Yeeeeessss!!!!

Toothless!

So I blogged earlier about how cute Ander is now with a tooth missing. Every time he talks, I have to smile. The slight whistle is gone now, and already his new tooth is peeking through. But I LOVE the gap in his smile. Did I mention he has 8 cavities? EIGHT! Two have already been fixed, just 6 more to go. He was a trooper getting the numbing shots in his mouth and did great during getting his cavities filled. At one point I got concerned because his lower body was jiggling, and I was worried he was having a seizure or was in tremendous pain. When I brought it to the attention of the dentist and the assistant, they looked down at him and said, "Do you need to use the bathroom?" Ander gave an emphatic nod of his head. I had to laugh. I thought I knew the pee pee dance when I saw it, but I guess it looks different laying down on a dentist chair.

Another creation

This one is for me. I love it, it is super easy, fast and I attached some velcro to it so it doesn't slide out of my hair. The pattern can be found at creativeyarn.blogspot.com. However, that is my own flower and I made the headband shorter and put a button in the back. Now I just have to work up the guts to wear it in public. I just feel like a teeny-bopper when I wear it.

How do you take naps?

It looks difficult and maybe a bit annoying, but I REALLY love it this way.

What can I say? They love me (insert sigh of contentment here)

Sylas is 2!!!

Two years ago, after laboring all night in the hospital, half hallucinating from the sleeping pill they gave me, Sylas was born in the wee hours of the morning. I didn't get to hold him for over 2 hours. That was mean of the nurses. My first view of him was wrapped up in blankets and I remember he was wide awake. I got to touch his cheek, just before they whisked him off.

So for his special day, he helped me make the frosting for his cake, and in return, I let him eat the frosting.

This is Sylas, thoroughly sick of me telling him he is two now and it is his birthday.

"Stop it, Mom!"

Sylas's Birthday dinner, Spaghetti and Meatballs. My husband is a wonderful cook. I pity all of you.

I like to try and get a picture of the kids on their birthday with all the balloons around them on the couch. Sylas would have nothing to do with it.

"No balloons!"

"No!"

That's better, now for presents!

As you can tell, Sylas has learned how to cheese.

This is a picture of Ander on his 2nd Birthday. THEY LOOK SO MUCH ALIKE!

The Village Dance

Due to Gunnars high fever, Lohn couldn't go with me to the dance. He was bitterly disappointed, I tell you (Bah!) But Tamsyn graciously agreed to come, and we had a BLAST!

Gotta love the limo. I can honestly say, this will be my last time in one...

A friend of mine took these last two photos at the dance. Can you believe we danced more than we sat?!! Tamsyn kept pulling me to the dance floor. She couldn't hold still when she heard ABBA.

Do I look like this normally? YIKES! I swear I wasn't on drugs or drunk. I guess I was just feeling GROOVEY.
