Santa's Sleigh Candy Holder

Hello all you amazing crafter's out there. Will you believe that it is already time for another amazing kit from Alpha Stamps???

The first kit is the Santa Sleigh Kit and the second kit is the Santa Sleigh Add-On Kit.

Well I dug right in and got started with my Tabletop Sleigh. After I picked my papers I used this awesome template to pre-cut out the parts for the sleigh base. Just trace around on the Christmastime paper you want and cut it out!

Here you can see how it will fit onto the sleigh.... but I didn't glue them down yet until after I painted my chipboard pieces.

Here I covered all the parts not covered with paper in gesso. Gesso primes the chipboard so you can paint on it and it will show up correctly or not get absorbed into the chipboard.

While that was drying I couldn't resist upping the pinecone game and getting a little DIY with the foliage on my sleigh.

So I used the Sizzix Dies created by Tim Holtz to die cut out foliage and pinecones!

I inked the edges of the pine cone and followed the video Tim did when this die came out on YouTube!

For the foliage I pounced the Distress Paint (for the holly leaves I used Mowed Lawn and the rest I used Peeled Paint).

Once that dried I played around with my green ink pads that had and rubbed ink into the areas that didn't have paint. The paint will act like a resist.

These pine needles got a coat of Peeled Paint Distress Ink and jus the two colors of ink.

Then while those got set aside I painted the rest of the sleigh.

Then I got to rolling the pinecones.

Next I pulled out a wreath and sprayed it green with some ColourArte spray I have in my stash called Spanish Moss.

I used stars form the to add to the wreath after I used some trim the the kit to make a bow.

So here is the final look. I am trying hard to not eat all the chocolate but this sleigh makes the best desk or coffee table piece.

Just to give you an idea it holds a whole bag of those Lindor Truffles!

Here you can see the build up of the foliage I made and extra additions of these fun Small and Medium Pine Cones.

I also decided to coat the pinecones and the wreath with a little gesso to make it look like snow.

I also used Sweeper Fringe on the back of the sleight o give the top a nice classy look.

Stenciled Gift Tags for The Crafter's Workshop

Good morning, afternoon, or night to you amazing crafter's out there. I am here to share a little holiday inspiration that I made for The Crafter's Workshop!

How many of you add tags to your gifts? Or labels for the presents you give? We do but normally we buy them. This year I thought it would be fun to make some tags for bags and boxes we will be gifting the family and friends!

So for my first tag I decided to so some embossing! I grabbed my tag and wiped it with an anti-static pouch (this is so my embossing powder doesn't stick to anything but what I want it too).

Then I push the VersaMark ink pad where I wanted it and stamped a sentiment as well. Using an embossing powder of your choice, I went with gold, you can see here the detail.

Then you heat emboss the powder. Look at how shiny that looks! How fun this will be to add to a goodies bag filled with hot chocolate and chocolate?

The next tag got some black glitter for a touch or shiny and bright! I mixed it in with some soft matte gel medium ( I used Prima but and good gel medium will work).

Spread a good layer through your stencil and clean your stencil immediately if you can or use a baby wipe if you can't get your stencil to a wash off area (mine is the kitchen sink).

I didn't get pictures of the last tag but it used the same method as above, instead I used a 3d gloss gel and gold glass glitter.

A Very Deer Canvas for Gypsy Soul Lasercuts

Hello to all you crafters out there. I am excited to share a new altered canvas I created for some change in weather inspiration for you. Also with Thanksgiving this past week I know some people love to get those Christmas decorations out and get started on the season. So for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts!

So first I covered everything with gesso. Then I added some various sprays, paints, and inks to achieve the look I desired.

For the deer I just covered the chipboard with gesso and after that dried a thin layer of Crackle Accents. After letting the Crackle Accents dry I went over the deer with some Distress Ink so it got into the cracks and then used a paper towel to wipe off the extra ink. The Crackle will act as a resist!

I did the same thing with a leftover piece I had from the Wrought Iron Set. I just love this technique.

I added some stamping and flowers with a word I cut out. With Winter well on it's way I thought this project would inspire you to get into some cold weather themed projects!

Dancing with the Sky

Well I had to play around with this art journal page. I created this page for Viva Las VegaStamps! Do any of you have those art journal pages or art journals that you use to put your extra ink or extra modeling paste so you don't waste product???

(BIG HAND IN THE AIR HERE)

Well I decided to use one of my wipe off, extra product pages to play with.

So on this page the first bit I did was clean up some blue ink off my desk. Then the next addition to the background was a stencil stamping. You know when you spray through a stencil and there is spray ALL OVER the stencil... well the stencil got smooshed in here.

Then I recently did some ATC's and had lots of modeling paste left over so I added some stenciling too.

So I played around with the stamps Dictionary Page - 19015 on the bacground and Girl With Wings - 19005. I stamped her on some paper and colored her with some watercolor pencils. I cut her out and added her to the page with some matte gel medium and then added some silver stickles to her wings.

Here you can see some of those leftovers in detail and shimmer.

I try to use up everything I can and create something from nothing. Give it a try and enjoy the process!

Believe Box for Gina's Designs Lasercuts

Good morning all you crafters out there. I wanted to try something and had a blast! So let me share this with you what I created for Gina's Designs Lasercuts! So grab you cup and lets have a blast.

With Christmas coming up I decided to play around and make a little Christmas spirit for my desk.

First I started with some casting resin on my embossing folders.

Then I got my sheets ready to cut up to add to my box. You want to do this before they harden completely.

The sheet was thin enough to use my scissors with.

Then I glued them on. You can use any type of glue I am sure however, I used some soft matte gel medium to adhere the resin to my box.

Here is the finished project.

I used a Mini Bookplate to add the sentiment "Believe".

I finished it off with some layers of paints and Petaloo flowers.

Here you can really see the texture.

Victorian Christmas Tags in a Box

So there is a new kit up over at Alpha Stamps

It is all about Christmas tags.

In case you want to join there is a tag swap going on too!

I started with this box for the base of the project! Then I used lots of items from the new kits Victorian Christmas Tags and the Advent Calendar Add-On.
