Chocolate and Sweets

There is a new challenge today over at The Inky Chicks blog. The challenge totally gave me reason to use this super cute new image from Tiddly Inks.

I colored her up with copics and paired her with some papers from my stash. I think they are from Fancy Pants but I can't remember the name of the pad. It was a little older from a couple years ago.

Don't forget you have some time to play so grab your stamps and come get inky!

Mermaid Cards

So I know Summer is right around the corner but it seems to be trying to take over Spring!!! So I thought why not create a little "Summer Fun" as I have been creating lots of "Springy" projects lately. I created these lovely cards for Gina's Designs.

When I was unsure of what to create I thought why not some cards. I was excited to create these  using some Prima papers and using some awesome ocean style cards that got to have fun with.

All the chipboard got a coat of gesso to prime the surface as I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them yet. I chose to use a gelato on the sea shells for color and then gave a little coat of Art Anthology's Stone Effects called Sandstone to add more for texture for the sea shells.

The mermaids got edged around with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I loved their pop from the papers so much I didn't want to add anything else to them.

I hope you found some Summer inspiration. Keep coming back for more inspiraton!

Does this card not say Spring??? I love the soft colors of the paper and I tries to color the image to match it.

I finished off the card with some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (I have so much left in my stash still).

Spring Composition Box for Gina's Designs

Hello everyone. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  I (Shanna) am excited to help give you a little more Spring inspiration. I created a Spring Composition Box.

I decided to go with some Graphic 45 papers that screamed SPRING to me.

Then I painted the my little boxes with a dark gray acrylic paint. Then I covered it with a crackle medium and went over the top of that with an ivory acrylic.

Then decided to go full force with yellow embossing powder to cover the word Spring. I also used silver glitter on the box behind Spring. I think the sparkle in the back really helps the world pop even more.

The key I gave several layers of Distress Paints to make it look it patina style.

This box got a coat of Drab Art Anthology on the back wall. I popped out these adorable girls and laid some moss and flowers down.

This box is just plain with moss and a birdhouse. I even gave it a title of birdhouse.

I love the waterman too this was a bit fun to play with. I coated the can and then scraped some of the paint off to give it lines. I then added some extra ink and some crackle accents for some extra oomph.

The last piece I added was the flower planter. I added layers of Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain to the planter part. Then I added Shamrock Art Anthology paint to the stems and leaves. Lastly I used more Distress Paints on the flowers and then a coat of crackle accents.

I added more flowers from Prima and Petaloo to the bottom on top of the moss. I thought it finished off the look. Thank you so much for stopping by. Remember keep coming by for more inspiration from he rest of the team.

Feed Your Soul Daily

Hello everyone and welcome to a new and awesome day for inspiration.
Shanna here with a new art journal spread to share and it was extremely fun to create as I was testing some colors out to see if I would like them.

I started out with the stamp Writing Circles Background - 19567 stamped it across my spread using the Mustard Seed Distress Paint, and with Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint I used the stamp Writing Triangles - 19571

I then splashed some Abandoned Coral Distress Stain on my craft mat, spritzed the puddle with water, and smoothed my pages in the puddles. I also did the same thing using some Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I really love the color scheme of this spread.

Then I started stamping the rest of my images with some black ink. I started with the Banksy Girl Watering TV Antennae - 19603, then stamped the Three Staples 19576 in a couple places, the

I stamped the Double Coffee Rings - 19568 on the opposite side of the journal to help create a little bit of a balance. I stamped my sentiment Feed Your Soul - 18926 on some white paper and cut it up to add it to the journal page using a gel medium.

I used my Big Brush pen to shadow the sentiment well make it pop and be bolder.

Thank you so much for stopping by don't forget to keep coming back for more inspiration

Swirls and Pearls

Today is a new challenge over at Loves Rubberstamps and we have a fun challenge to share with you all too!

I though since it is Spring I wanted to keep it all soft and pastel like.

The image was colored with copics and I inked all my edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I added the flowers and pearls along with the ribbon. This literally was the last of this ribbon too, just enough! So it turned out to be perfect.

The pearls were just the right shade too though and match the ribbon and flowers like AWESOME.

Thanks so much or stopping by and checking out my creation for the challenge.

Don't forget to check out the sponsor this week. These images are just so darn cute.

Art Journal Cover

Hello everyone!!!!

Super excited to share another new art journal piece I made. I wasn't quite with the first one after taking more time looking at it.

So I went on a mission to make one a little more cleaner and nicer looking.

So lots of gesso, modeling paste, and a little color this one turned out perfectly as I envisioned it.

I love adding gears when I can to any projects that need an extra touch!

I love the bee and the labels just amazing and fun to layer it all.

I added a little black here and there and loved it.

Here you can see my layers.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Keep coming back for more inspiration!
