Coin Envelope for Quotes

Hello to all you amazing crafters out there.

Well I got this 1-2-3 Punch Board and thought I would have some fun. I played around trying to make envelopes until I figured it out (took me 3 tries). I decided then to make a envelope to go into my planner for quotes. I created this particularly using some of my favorite papers from Marion Smith Designs!

I had tons of fun just layering and inking the edges on the paper, keeping it simple, and clean.
I took scraps from the Junque Gypsy line and glued them down on the envelope base.

I added some glitter stickers from my sticker bin to give it the title of "quotes" and then finished on the envelope with brads and jute string. However I think here a magnetic closure or velcro could also work.

Next step is to write tons of quotes down and stick them in for next year so I can read a quote a day or a quote a week like a "Motivational" idea.

I so hope your inspired to create your on envelope for goodies!

Until next time thank you for stopping by and keep coming back for more inspiration!

Two Cards for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts

Hello lovelies!!!! Shanna here with cards to share.

I wanted to make something bright and fun and I thought I should play with some texture sheets from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

What do you think???

This is my first card I created and I painted my chipboard with gesso first. I also used a Cardstock Doily from the store.

I created my own mist and sprayed the chipboard after the gesso dried. I used a heat gun to dry the mist so it had this watercolor look to it. Do you see the shimmer?

For my second card I had actually used some paper to clean up the blue spray and thought why not tuck it behind my other gesso covered chipboard.

I think the white just pops off the card.

I wanted to finish this card off with a rustic key I created with a few layers of Silks Acrylic glaze paint that was dried with a heat gun in between layers.

New Tutorial on YouTube

Hello lovelies. I hope your having a wonderful weekend wherever you are.

Our state still can't seem to makeup it's mind. One day it is hot and the other day windy and cold. The next day there is frost everywhere!!!

Well this weekend I got to share a new tutorial I created of a tag I mad for ColourArte. I would so love it if you checked it out and shared it with your friends.

Here is the video. Enjoy!

Altered Birdhouse for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts

Hello all you lovelies. I created something today using my Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts!!!
I decided to alter some chipboard pieces. I honestly dumped out my goodies on the floor, grabbed, and said let's do this!

So I started with this piece from the Retro Shape Set. I knew I wanted it to look rustic and vintage and patina-ish.

I started with some acrylic glaze. I used my finger, the goal is not to be perfect, and leave more paint in some areas than other. Then I heat set it immediately!!! Watch the magic happen.

You can see here how the paint is puffy right? Well once cooled to touch smoosh it down. See the texture that creates.

I went in on top with a rusty color and heat set again. I did two round of this color to get the full color and look I was going for.

Here is my finished look. What do you think?

Everything else got a coat of acrylic paint and I added some bling for a eye popping effect.

I dug this crown out and thought it went perfect on top of this bird house I had hanging out.

The crown even has a little texture on top too. It was so fun to create!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Make sure to check back regularly for more inspiration!!

Time To Fly for Marion Smith Designs

Hello all you lovelies. With Christmas getting closer, I decided to take a step back and just have fun and not think about Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, the smell of pine trees, those cinnamon pinecones, the foggy chilly mornings and hot cocoa... I mean I can really go on.

But I haven't done an art journal yet with my Marion Smith Design papers so I thought why not play.

Here is my recent art journal spread. I started with spraying the background. Then I glued down my papers with a gel medium.  I even added some texture with gel medium using a stencil.

I then did a a coat of CLEAR gesso. I took my Iced Coffee gelato and went around the edges of one of my papers.  The outer edges got a green and blue gelato. Just use a baby wipe to blend the gelato around.

I used this ticket to stamp the date I created the art journal page.

I added some black splatter across the page as well. I finished it off with some Big Chat stickers.

I just had fun creating this and it was so simple and my fingers got to get a little messy. So I encourage you to add some of these fabulous papers to your journals.

Santa Mail Art for Viva Las VegaStamps

Have you all stopped by to play the December challenge yet? If not stop by because today I am here with a little challenge inspiration!

I wanted to have fun and try my hand at some Mail Art!!!

I am not sure what to think about it all as I love it and it was my first try.

I started with a cover for where you would write the address. Then I stamped 19314 - Santa Smoking.

I stamped it again and created a mask for the santa.

Then I used some washi tape to create my own stripes.

Then I used some Fired Brick Distress Paint to paint on my stripes.

This is what you get after you removed the mask and washi tape.

I used a Pitt Pen to outline where the addresses would go.

I added some additional stamping and thought to finish it off add some black splatter.

Pinecone Resist Tag for The Crafter's Workshop

Hello all you amazing crafter's out there. I am here with a quick fun technique.
Did you know that Distress Paints act as a resist? Some other acrylic paints do as well.
Here is the tag I created for the holidays.
ShannaTCWChristmasTag7
The first step is to grab your supplies.
ShannaTCWChristmasTag
I used a makeup sponge to apply my Distress Paint with the stencil TCW 515 - Pinecones
ShannaTCWChristmasTag.1
Here is what it looks like. The juicy the paint the more it might get under the stencil. (TIP: use a spray adhesive on your stencils that is not permanent but movable. It will help the paint not go where you don't want it.)
ShannaTCWChristmasTag.2
Once that paint was good and dry I went in with a Distress Stain. Just splash some stain on the sheet and spritz it with a mini mister or spray bottle.
ShannaTCWChristmasTag3
I smooshed my tag in the puddle of green, dry it a little, smoosh the tag in the puddle more until the puddle is basically gone. Dry it.
ShannaTCWChristmasTag4
Once it is dry I sprayed water in my hand and then threw it down in a splatter way on the tag.
ShannaTCWChristmasTag5
Once that dries embellish. I added more pinecones to go with the stencil and some ribbon and a sentiment I thought was cute.

Christmas Sleigh

Hello to all you lovelies. I decided to alter Santa's Sleigh for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. 'Tis the season right?? With Christmas right around the corner I thought it would be fun to create a little something.

I painted all the parts before I assembled it and then embellished it.

I added pinecones and jute bows and silver trim and stickers! I wanted to keep it simple and fun and I love how this turned out. Have you thought about getting your own sleigh???

Thank you so much for stopping by today and make sure you come back for more inspiration!

Don't Be Normal Art Journal Page

Hello stampers out there. I recently had some fun with one of Viva Las VegaStamps newest releases.

I played with the plate 1470. I decided to play with one of my scrap journal pages and a sheet from a mono print from my stash. I made my own gelatin plate and went to town with stencils and Dylusions Paints. I made several several prints talk about a fun night. Next time I want to try it with some deli paper though.

So here is my art journal page. I stamped the sentiment and the bookmark style stamp on white cardstock and cut them out.

I used a scrap of the mono print behind the sentiment and you can see the pattern behind in the background was the actual print.

Everything was adhered down with a matte gel medium so I could use my black PITT Pen and smudge a border around what I wanted a border on.

The actual background before I added everything had some blue gelato that I had wiped up off my craft sheet. I used a baby wipe and a stencil to take away some color.

Again I had no clue what I was doing but having fun with some scrap stuff I had laying around and some of the new stamps.

So grab some and have some fun and don't forget to share your work over at the VLVS Groupies Facebook Page!
