i'm sure you guys have all heard of the phrase 'inner beauty' and that people claim that they go for inner beauty and not 'outer' beauty.that attitude and love and all that means more then 'outside beauty'.but if this is so true and that the world is so just and fair, then why does the phrase 'sex sells' come up all the time?and why is it so sadly TRUE?
if inner beauty is as desired as everyone claims, why are so many potential people who apply for jobs such as clothes models or air stewards or air stewardesses rejected kjust because they're not good looking enough, or they dont look 'perfect' enough?but many of you surely havent thought of this before.i dont blame you for not cuz its like, who cares? as long as you claim that inner beauty turns you on but in reality you get turned on by britney dancing around in her thong, who cares?the world is good right?
at this point you would be asking, wtf is wrong with this guy?some anti-sex guru or something who does not believe in the sexiness and hotness of Sarah Tan and Angelin Jolie?well..no.heck, i'm a guy.you cant stop me from admitting that Sarah Tan and Lindsay Lohan are hot.lol
what bothers me is that people dont really care about 'inner beauty' anymore.how the hell do i know?well..see...i'll put you in my shoes.you walk around in uni- looking like this
people look at you thinking, hey what a (if i may say) pleasant looking guy, hes got a very nice smile!maybe i should approach him and get to know him.or something.along those lines, you get what i mean.
but then they see this.
yea.you see right.its a skin problem i've got.suddenly the same person who wanted to get to know you backs off, thinking- omg wtf is that...dude his skin looks like scales!
how do i know this?simple.people have called me this names before.lizard skin.crocodile.just to name a few.now tell me.why would i, being a nice person and all, save some tempers here and there, deserve something like that?if there is inner beauty in this world, why do people not accept me for what i am inside but sneer or look at me like i'm some outcast?
i admit i am bless with several true friends who do not bother about my condition.you guys know who you are and i'm truly happy that i have you all.but its the constant stares, the jeering eyes from my peers in the lecture hall, on the street, in the gym, in shopping malls that really dampens my happiness and mood.i really cant help being like this you know.
i dunno.i just dont get it.this is the first time i've ever posted pics of my hand.will you judge me differently, those who read this?will you judge me for who i am inside or for the croc skin on my hand?

almost two weeks has passed since we officially started classes in Monash University!soo fast!and sadly i've only got to know two new people..i've kinda stuck to our old MUFY people and gang you know?
Uni's really different, but one this that really bothers me is actually this-
WHY ARE THE LECTURERS ALWAYS LATE FOR LECTURES?
its very weird dont you think?i mean its like from kindergarden all they way till college, teachers would come in on time or would be in class even before the students come in.However in Uni its so different.so far in my two weeks of lectures, all the lecturers regardless of whether its a he or she is ALWAYS LATE.and i'm not talking about late-by-few-minutes kinda late.I'm talking about 15-minutes-late kinda late!i mean like wtf, we pay like 15,000 for our tuition fees, we expect at the very least that the lecturers come in on time for their classes!
can you imagine, 1 lecture we waste like 15minutes, how much time we would waste all together??its simple maths really-
15minutes X 6 lectures per week = 90 minutes
90 minutes X 52 weeks = 4680 minutes!!
thats like 78 freaking hours dude!
and that makes it more than 3 days of teaching, or more importantly MONEY wasted!
i have much better things in life to do in 78 hours than to sit down and wait for the useless lecturers to come!i dont wanna waste my life away!
what about if this continues thoughout my degree program?shit wei!then its
78hours X 3 =234hours!!
thats like...erm...almost 10 days of my life of 3 years wasted waiting for lousy lecturers!
pish.all that advertising and jazz about Monash having the best library in Malaysia and all that...oh yea best library in Malaysia but we also have lecturers with phDs and Masters who cant tell the forking time!
and the fact that lectures are DARN boring does not help either.i'm torn between wanting the lecturer to come in to lecture and for him/her to come later actually.
if he/she comes in late, i waste my time and dad's money.
if he/she comes in right, i get the shit bored out of me.
life is so complicated.*heaves big sigh*

finally, after two whole weeks of collecting my birthday "taxes" i have gotten most of them in my grasp.bwahahaha...the taxes i got for my 18th birthday has been the most fulfilling yet!i just can't wait till my 21ist birthday..i'm gonna hold a party as big as Paris Hiltons and the get a whole lot of these 'taxes'!
ahem.but of COURSE yow keat is not such a materialistic person..i mean i was very very appreciative of all the people who made it to my birthday party of course-even those who didnt bring a present..lol
nah but seriously, big thanks to everyone who came to my birthday party, and a bigger thanks to those who made my actual birthday more joyful-it was the best birthday i had ever celebrated so far!
so- a little look-see at what i got for my 18th birthday-
ahhh...the 4GB Ipod Mini
this wasn't a present actually- my grandparents from singapore gave me 300bucks in spore cash- and i happily invested it in the MOAP- Mother Of All Players- the Ipod.and happy to say, it doesnt disappoint!recently i used it for 4+4 hours straight on a trip to and fro to Singapore- and even when i turned up the volume no one in the car could hear anything from my earphones.ahh...the price you pay for shear quality.the sound quality also brought about a whole new dimension of music to me- the drums, guitar can be heard clear and crisp even with a whole load of noise in the background.
okay..moving on-
the cow- lol..this took me awhile to figure out what it was- until Thira pointed out that the words 'paper holder' was stuck to the middle of the cow's chest.lol.so yea its a paper holder, but its sitting on my subwoofer as a deco item- i can't see to have the heart to even use it cuz its so cute!lol..thank you so much Alex and Thira for the present!very pretty and nice...reminds me of the Muriel from Courage the Cowardly dog in my birthday card two years ago!
ahh...and who could say anymore about this threesome of beauties.now with wireless, my laptop sits in my room with no companionship, and thanks to my mummy and daddy this threesome comes along to add some...BOOST to the surroundings.lol okay enough with the stupid talk- my parents bought me this set of speakers and subwoofer- i know they're from 1utama and although they're no Altec Lansing, heck i'm happy with them cuz i can still have my Bass and Volume at full blast to annoy the shit out of my grandmother when she pisses me off.And of course now i can enjoy good music while i surf the net and do my work.
next is a collective present from Fred, Wendy, HonFaai, PingHong, Jon, Ben and Jess if i'm not mistaken-a flask to contain hot/cold water- but the thing is its got Final Fanatasy 12 printed all over it. And me being a nut for Final Fantasy, obviously i have no heart to even use the flask.so its sitting amoungst the prized possesions in my room...lol..Thanks you guys!
if your thinking 'wtf is that?!' its Lego.What you have something against and 18 year old liking Lego?My aunt gave it to me just a few days ago..and i wasted no time in piecing it up!it took me around...3 hours?this was the toughest i've tried so far, and by far the most rewarding.if you still havent guessed, its Jango Fett from Attack of The Clones- yea it suits perfectly cuz i'm a nut for both Lego AND Star Wars- making me double nuts for the present.lol..now all i have to do is find a space to put the thing, its pretty huge....
if you're screwing up your eyes trying to see what it is, its my new thumbdrive that i think by now everyone knows about- the SmarThumb.256mb with whole load of programs to match- and on top of that its aesthetically pleasing!(it means good looking).thank you Sarah!love the present!and speaking of the thumbdrive, i was sitting around one day and i was just thinking of a catchy phrase for it...i came up with
"Technology never looked this good"
and
"the necklance with a twist"
and
"Your data at your neck"
at that point i gave up..thinking why the hell i even waste time thinking up all these weird phrases anyway.
lastly together with the SmarThumb, Sarah gave me a new pencilbox- a whopping large pencilbox which i have converted to a moneybox- just shut up and dont ask me why.it serves its purpose.and it can't really fit into my bag thats why i cant use it as a pencil box..and i dont have that many things to put inside either.lol..but i love the present!thanks again Sarah!
and the chocolates from Steph and Jess...both very nice and tasty really- i regret being unable to put up any pics here because i've already stored them up in a very secure safe...the MyStomach safe...full 100% safety!
well thats bout it i hope more are coming- lol...from what i heard, i think more are coming in fact...just need to go get them from my friends...LOL

i went for the premiere of 'The Island' yesterday night- it was a pretty good movie and its definately worth a second watch.
how long do you think adverts have been around for?from the business studies i did in year 9, i remember along the lines of early 1900s.it was in the form of flyers or something, and i remember it was advertising about a tanning bed of some sort....(did they even HAVE tanning beds during that time??)
fast forwarded to our time,we are being bombarded with adverts left right center.flyers, banners, hot air balloons, the internet, mass media- we can get enough of them.one of the few holy suci places we could get ALMOST no adverts are when we watch a movie.2.30 hours of pure entertainment.
however, i have seen to notice a very annoying trend of advertising going on in the movies.i believe it started with Minority Report- starring Tom Cruise and his red Lexus
then it was I, robot, where Will Smith displayed his 'vintage 2000 Converse'
and just lately, one of the best films about cloning degrades itself by having the most amount of advertisements yet.i can proctically rattle off the brand names for you- and mind you, they're products stand out- go watch the movie and you'll understand.

it was sad.just very sad.i mean HELLO if i wanted to see some advertisements all i had to do is turn on the TV to get some of those, i dont have to drive from my place all the way to 1utama and waste my time watching your movie just to be bombarded with advertisements right?i think it is high time movie producers toe the line on all these product promotions.i mean heck dont you get enough profits from the movies and all already?why do you have to slot in these meaningless advertising and ruin a good movie for us?
maybe it doesnt seem like a big thing now, but heck, what happens if this goes further?when acting people minght be prompted to say something like ' hey wheres my Puma shoes?' instead of 'where did my shoes go?' or 'Roy dont waste anymore time, take my Sony Ericsson S700i and go!' instead of 'Roy dont waste anymore time, just take my phone and go!'
or what if they decide to take a step further and want their product to be heard even more?imagine this- Mission Impossible 4: starring Tom Cruise and Ray Ban.the movie will feature Tom Cruise- and he will be wearing that pair of Ray Ban sunglasses throughout the whole movie.
wouldnt that sound completely stupid?it might sound impossible to believe now, but hey, Leceister City has already named their stadium after their main sponsor- Walker stadium.Walker may not ring a bell to us, but i believe it is a brand of a packet of chips.
can you imagine what would come later?what if Durex decides to sponsor the Theater of Dreams?will we call it 'Old Durex' or 'Theater of Durex'?will we place a huge 20m tall inflatable Durex condom in front of the stadium?
its understandable that people try to find better and other ways to market their products, but i think there should be a limit to where the can market them and how they do it, so we dont see a future LOTR where Aragon walks around in Nike shoes.

from jons blog i read about how people judge people in their way of blogging and how they look in blogs(did i get this correct?)
however, whats more important in the first place is this- why do we even need to bother about what people think about us?(bloggers) sure, the asian community has always been rather self concious about what people think of us, and we also have that niggling fact that the more famous bloggers like xiaxue and kennysia get all the unwanted comments and hatemails.but i think we must remember and bear in mind that even when you do recieve all these unwanted comments and hatemails, we can and should easily just laugh at it and just wave it away like harry potter waving away malfoy's ass with his wand.sure it can be painful reading it, but hey, people who have so much free time as to just type hatemails to you all day do not deserve even your hate or time.
whats most important in personal blogging is the same for everyone, from unknown bloggers like me to famous bloggers like xiaxue and co- we blog according to what we think- it displays our thoughts, opinions and personality.thus we could simply say that our blogs represent and online version of us.by critizing what we think, and opiniate, is as bad as going to a blind man and saying ' hey, i hate you cuz you're blind'.the contents of a blog is basically just opinions and personal taste and thinking- heck, its a free world and were allowed to do what we want!i mean, so what if Sarong Party Girl decides to post naked pictures of herself?just because it appears in a blog its unacceptable?what about all those millions of porn sites that you people visit, now thats hot and sexy and totally acceptable is it? it is ultimately our blogs, why why even bother if we blog immaturely or maturely?we choose what we want to blog in the contents-you read our blogs with your own free will, so if you dont like what you see and you think we're lame, then just scoot off.there is no need to send hatemails or painful comments, it basically wastes our time,bandwidth and tempers.

jon messaged me on msn earlier sharing the same pain upon reading about his death
even xiaxue mourns his death- and what she said is true-we have known him for 6 years.
to lose him just like that, so..suddenly and so painfully and so...ironically.
i wish i could elaborate.
however...since like almost everyone hasnt finished it yet....i resrve a moment of silence for the character we have all come to love and look up to, one who we thought would be the last to go and would not perish in the face of adversity.

grad night was an eventful night, though the table priced at 700 bucks was a real rip-off becasue we werent even served proper food let alone sharks fin or abalone...but the night was good because we were there and all the photo taking brought out the life that night..a few grieviences i'll like to...erm..bring out-
-the food sucked
-the speeches were boring
-no dancing AT ALL...can you imagine that?!
-i didnt get a picture with sally....and she looked SO FREAKING HOT that night!
-*ahem* some short ass midget girl taking all the awards
-being so short...i look awful in those pictures

-taking the photos..that was a blast

ahhh....another stepping stone in life reached.today, i officially entered Monash University.it doesnt really feel like i'm in a uni you know...man it felt like it was just yesterday jooken and bern and i were still the three stooges of our english class
and now i'm suddenly thrust into time and i'm in university.sigh.time really flies when your having fun.so anywhoo today was my first day which was orientation day.i was sorta nervous, but i was really excited to see everyone form college again, people like honfaai and marcus and jian hua and tjia wen...jeff and all.i really didnt know what to expect for orientation but i thought along the lines of our MUFY oreientation on the first day...which was boring to say the least.
well...to give them some credit the Monash University Students Association did a pretty good job in livening up the audience at intervals after all the boring usual talk- how we monash...'freshies' are the potential few who will do great things and so on...yea right-_- and the usual blabbering about safety in the school and scholarships(which i sadly could not make the cut) and such.
was it better then the MUFY orientation?well...i would say yes....but something really spoilt it all.what IS this something you might woonder...just what could disrupt oh justful yowkeats decision on grading the two orientations?well...you see, the MUFY orientation did not have a most annoying mosquito buzzing constantly by my ear!you must be saying..."damn it must be a BIG ASS mosquito to actually disrupt yow keats attention from the speeches"..but on the contrary, this mosquito was a midget-19 year old mosquito with a immensly PITCHED and ANNOYING buzz!isnt this amazing?its gotta be the OLDEST mosquito alive...i mean heck a 19 year old mosquito?whats even eye popping is that this....THING...is able to buzz for like 40 minutes non stop!
if i'm not wrong...i just discovered a new spieces of mosquitos...one of a kind mosquito-
i shall name it the insectus yongmeimunica..i didnt see but i'm sure this new breed of mosquitos has that big red ass too.
congrats to everyone who got into monash(oh yea that reminds me i was so freaking suprised to see yik say there...maybe he intimidated the monash officers with his mucus filled handkerchief)

okay i'm sorry i havent posted the pictures from my birthday yet cuz i' so bloody lazy to do anything to walk upstairs and get the USB cable for the camera....but i have some other pictures to entertain you with!its nothing much...but it means alot to me!cuz it was my first time working in a part time job!lol
Sarah's parents own a company called QDK and they are marketing this new thumbdrive called the SmarThumb.the pay was very good i thought..60 bucks for a whole day of work from 11 to 8- and commission of 3 bucks for every 1-10 units sold, 4bucks for 11-20 units sold and 5 bucks for 21-30 units sold.
we were suppose to promote the product and try to help sell it- and so before we set off to Low Yat Plaza and Imbi Plaza we were briefed by non other than Sarah's dad.
there were 4 of us all together- me, steph, sarah, and marie
me in my work uniform...lol

so...enough about the job.
why is this thumdrive called the SmarThumb?because its not just some USB thumbdrive.a USB thumbdrive is just a piece of empty junk that is an empty space where you can store your information.however, SmarThumb actually has programs that assist you in doing your work!
Design
it is made of a stainless steel cover- and it is a one piece product, not a two piece product where there is the cover and the main piece simply because it is always so easy to lose the cover that protects the more sensitive insides of the thumbdrive!
it is also very aesthetically pleasing!it looks good and compliments you-since we all wear the thumbdrive around our necks nowadays, it has too look good right?now for the first time, you can look sophisticated and also make a fashion statment at the same time!
Programs
the programs are limitless to say the least and it would be too much of a bore if i explained it to you here with a whole big junk of words!however the main feature of this thumbdrive is that we have a program called MyZip that actually compresses your files to increase and maximize your storage space!we cam compress up to 80% of your file space, which technically, for a 256mb thumbdrive can give you around 460mb!its like a 512mb thumbdrive for the price of a 256mb thumbdrive!
