It was a rather cruel end to the season don't you think.
It should have been a Double, to top off the excellent year. instead, we were slapped in the face by Dog-ba.Stupid black man.
What? I'm entitled to be racist once in a while.

    Okay well maybe not. mmph.

I've finally began watching Ugly Betty, adding it to the already growing number of dramas and animes I hound after every week. Thanks to my excellent self control, I've halted myself from watching more. Ugly Betty I mean. The others are all coming to the season finales anyway, so they'll end at a pretty good time.

Speaking of season finales, the one to season 3 of Grey's was to me...very OMGWTFBBQ. I suppose I shouldn't reveal any contents here just yet, but it seems like suddenly so many things are happening to so many people in such a short time that it seems like season 4 would look like a very different Grey's Anatomy all together.

On that note, Heroes episode 23 (which is, incidentally the last episode of the season) is currently laguishing in my utorrent downloading at 0.1kbs/sec. Its enough to tear my hair out.

I was looking though the newspapers today during lunch and I came across this article. I choked on my rice. Seriously. What the hell were they thinking? 6.5mil down the drain my dears. You ain't getting any chinese support. Here let me list the reasons why there's no way in HELL chinese people are gonna support PAS:
    1. We like pork. Most of us at least.
    2. we prefer co-ed nightclubs and bars. Whichever way you look at it, same sex clubs/bars are gay bars. period.
    3. We like prisons better than slicing off people's hands.
    4. We also like our concerts to be performed by people like Beyonce and Linkin Park. Not Mawi and Siti Nurhaliza.
    5. We men also like to go to concerts performed by Beyonce, and not have it restricted to all- women concerts.
    6. We like the view when we are at the beach or the swimming pool. There's no point going to the beach or pools if the view there is the same as the view in the office/roadside.
    7. We are happy that in this side of Malaysia, there are more or less half the number of incest cases as compared to the northern states.
"In fact, I’ve been praying for a long time that one day, the Chinese can become Pas leaders, because when the Chinese embraced Islam, they really learn about the religion, whereas some Malays are Muslims because they were born into the religion," said the Kelantan Menteri Besar.
Seriously. The day a chinese fella becomes the leader of PAS, I will serve my family jewels on a platter to that person. Its like Hitler saying:" Oh my god I can't wait for the day a Jew becomes my leader" No F-R-E-A-K-I-N' way they'll allow a chinese guy even the smallest chance of being Prime Minister. Cuz when that happens, we all know what he'll do first.

ANYWAY. Enough about that. It was just so bloody funny that I had to post something about it.

So. I got my Offer Letter! those of you who don't know yet, either you're blind and you can't see my MSN nickname or you don't have me on MSN. If its the latter, I apologise =) but yea I got accepted (officially) into Australia.

And that concludes my updates! Exams people!!

Its assignment week. Woe on me.

Pardon the lack of updates for the reason above.microecons is gonna be the death of me.

Seriously. It makes me wonder how business students can stand doing business. Their stuff is never straight to the point. It always this affecting that, that includes this and that and blah di blah di blah...

Wouldn't you agree with me that science is so much easier. Its to the point, precise and never get all these excess bullshit.

So. I have cell metabolism, microecons and lab management assignments due this coming week. Lab management is pretty much wrapped up, cell met needs some tweaking here and there. Guess which one I'm dying over now.

Having Alvin as a tutor does not help at all as well. pfft.

In other matters, it just struck me. Having a well know blog doesn't really do you well. It kinda restricts you from blogging about real matters you know, real stuff you want to talk about. oh, and I still haven't got my transfer request letter back yet. I'm getting very fidgety and pissed off.

Are any of you familiar with the Digi Fuyooh advertisement on the radio on Fly fm? Its about this kid who goes clubbing and the mom's like giving him the dad's sports car, asking him to pick up someone cute and ends with that sickening FUUUYOH.

That isn't what irks me. What irks meis when the mom says" Here, take the Platatitum card"

When I first heard it, i was midly surprised. Isn't it Platinum? Like as in the element, Platinum? It didn't really register in my head after that.

Annoyingly enough they started playing that stupid advert more and more often, and everytime that word "Platatinum" rolls off her tougue it gives me a shudder and annoys the bejesus out of me. Stupid mother who can't even pronounce something right.

Just to reconfirm I googled Platinum card.

Every other credit card company's card goes by that name, so I can't be mistaken right? My sister mentioned copyright problems, but hey, its not like the mom said " Here, take my American Express Platinum card." It could have been ANY company's card. And so far I've never heard of someone copyrighting the words "Platinum card" so I don't see why there should be any intentional mispronouncing of the words there.

In a totally unrelated topic, I'm getting damn impatient. I want my bloody letter of offer already. I know people who have gotten them already, so why the hell isn't mine sitting in my email yet. *grumbles*

Microbio lab today was immensly boring.

Since Janu ran off to Luqman's table during the waiting periods I was pretty much left alone on my table- not that I'm complaining, but at that point I was just searching for something constructive to do.

So as my mind wandered around for something to work on, I though of my blog, and also photography- cuz my sister wants a SLR camera and all, she has a pretty good touch with photography, and I came to this- why don't I try matching my sister's flair in this whole photography thing?

or okay, it came out more like " Hmph I bet I could take better photos than she can," but yea whatever same thing.

And again, I thought it would be pretty interesting to find some nice angles to snap a picture of since we were in the lab- How many professional photographers take photos in a lab?

So here's one of a cuvette- for the uninformed, its a little plastic container like thing we use to place samples in for measurement of light intensity.

Bunsen burner- this should be quite understandable

From a dropper's point of view- I thought this was a pretty cool shot.

I really didn't take much cuz at this time I felt really weird, being the only one at the table, twisting and turning my photo in funny positions taking close up shots of the most random stuff. So I stopped.

I hauled my ass over to Luqman's table and took this-

haha yea this is basically what happens in micro lab when people have nothing to do- you just gather round one table and gossip over everything you can think of.

Wow. Back to back posts. I NEVER do back to back posts.

    Anyway.

    Its my brother's birthday today!
    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Good god I don't have a recent picture of him alone.

I'm telling you, my school's probably started drugging the canteen food with growth hormones or something to get better in sports, the lil twat's growing so bloody fast it doesn't seem normal. He's 12 by the way. And he's in Year 8. In government school terms, that be Form 2.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Kids his age usually haven't even taken their UPSR yet.
They wouldn't even know what enzymes are, or how to solve 5x=20.
Despite all the namecalling by my sister and I, he is amazingly mature for his age and NOT gay. He's just behaving like how any 12 year old should- slightly gay. (its the hormones, they don't kick in till later you know)

The poor guy's always been my subject of torture since he's the only fella whose significantly shorter than I am. And since I'm not exactly Yao Ming kinda tall, I have a very selective few I can pick on.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

But seriously, I don't know how long more i can call him midget or grab him by the head. I'll give it another 2 to 3 years, and damn if everything goes well I WON'T be here for the next 2 years or so to do that. My dad (and secretly me too) has predicted that he would be the tallest of us three siblings, and seriously I think its gonna come true soon. I just can't imagine the day my younger brother is gonna call me midget.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Happy Birthday you lil fart. If you ever read this, know that to your sis and I, you'll always be that little gay brother who's got a crush on Winston Churchill.

On December 2005, it came to my house. It came in a neatly packaged box. With trembling fingers, i ripped open the packaging and lovingly set it out on my table. Yes. It was my very first.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Fast forwarded till now, after a few mysteriously disappearing reports and virus attacks later, I have succeeded in convincing my dad I needed a new laptop. This current one was irking the hell out of me as the RAM was so low (256 RAM) that after a long report session +itunes my document would refused to be saved - the whole thing will hang, and poof.. report (or portions of it) disappears.

Okay I confess that I am sorta sick of this laptop too and I wanted a new one as well, but don't judge me for that. I don't ask my dad for stuff often mmkays. When I want things I usually find means of getting them myself, but a new laptop, heh.

So ANYWAY. Feast your eyes on this-

Dear me. I wonder what it is.
Take a stab. A wild guess.

What was it? yes? yes? AHA! yes of COURSE you're correct!
    Its a -

    NEW LAPTOP! yay! dingdingding! Bingo!
Its a HP Pavilion dv2201TX! After much research on laptops and what not + advice from both Sarah and Jon, I decided to go for a HP. It looks ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. It looks even better when you see it for yourself, and when I first saw it myself I was so excited I almost wet my pants.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I was actually contemplating the Sony Vaio, but seriously the Vaio is so way overpriced it makes our toll charges seem like peanuts. For a price (I think I'll rather not disclose it) lower than the Vaio I got a orgasm-inducing laptop with almost double the specs of the Vaio.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This laptop has a 5 in 1 card reader, so all i have to do is plug in the SD card or my Memory stick duo from my camera/PSP and tada! I can easily transfer everything in and out in a flash.

OHOHOH. And did I mention about the buttons I have located above my keyboard? Its a row of 'Play' 'Rewind' 'Fast forward' buttons that I can simply press to get the desired functions when I'm playing music! HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT?!

Vista is so bloody delicious. If I could just dig around and find out how to take screenshots..

    Ah yes here it is.

As you might have noticed, I recently added a mini banner-like thing on the left side of my blog.

This stems from my current addiction with Facebook.

    "eh? What?" you say

Facebook is basically like Friendster but with steroid jabs and a million dollar facelift. It is in a way like eating chocolates- you know you gotta stop, but you can't and you don't know why. Thing is, Facebook's kinda new so not many people's in it. However from what I've gathered from people who are already in it, it is just as addictive for them0.O

Don't feel weird if you suddenly find yourself refreshing your facebook page every 10 to 15 minutes waiting for someone to post on your wall, or finding the urge to load unlimited, yes UNLIMITED amount of pictures onto your profile and tagging every single person in it.

So click on it and sign up- find out why I'm having problems completing my cell met report and lab management assignment---> Facebook.com

PS: I haven't uploaded the pictures from saturday- reason stated above. I'll get around doing it soon, I promise =)

Today I was at my microecons tutorial when Alvin (the tutor) threw a question about one of the, erm, questions in our tutorial sheet. Something about taxes- if there was a tax on the sales of a product, would there be a shift in the demand or supply curve?

So naturally I answered:" Supply." (simply because the tax is on the SALES of a product, so everytime you SELL a product, you are taxed- hence the tax is on the sellers right?

so I thought, or that was how my logic worked.

So then Alvin moved on to the girl next to me:" What do you think?"

    *pause*

    "Erm....demand."

And he moved on again to the next, and the next, and so on. They all answered demand.

As I was about to comfort myself that I was primarily a SCIENCE student, so getting a microeconomics question wrong was okay, Alvin said:" its SUPPLY, people. blahblahblah*droning on*"

HA!the only science student in the bloody tutorial class, and he gets the question right! Serves you right for answering blindly and following the answer of someone you know, and not someone with logic! Just because the girl was someone you knew and I wasn't you blindly follow her into the deep pits of wrongness, and not my logical deduction!

Erm. Yea. Hey I am NOT over reacting okay..this is how my tutorial class works. Me against all of the other puny fresh-out-of-college amateurs! Science against business-minds! the only fella with a 19__ starting digits in his monash ID against the other 21___ starting digit people!

    Score 1, ME! whoot!

Okay so I decided to take photos of my PSP.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Nice yes? definitely worth the amount of money I spent for it.

Yes this is an absolutely random picture I took before my microecons tutorial- I was all alone and with a bunch of amateur first years... but you would agree that I have a slight flair for photography yes? I like this photo=P took it with my phone on Macro mode. Yes my phone has macro mode on it. Now be jealous. =)

I've been feeling rather out of touch lately. Rather disconnected you know? Its like work-home-eat-sleep-repeat cycle. I mean sure there's the occasional outing here and there, and also the rather-so-frequent procrastinating, but hey, life's not just all that is it?

Before I sink into a whole post about life and it's philosophies, let's drag me out of it.

I've got my new shiny PSP!

I would take photos to show it off and all, but that's just so...everyone-like. haha. As in like everyone does that these days, I can't be bothered to follow that trend. Ask me for it if you wanna see it=) I'll get you hooked on LocoRoco like Maxine

I was doing some house/room/apartment hunting earlier for Australia. A little early, I admit, but it's better safe than sorry no? So anyway, while scouting around I saw this house with four rooms going out for rent only on the 7th of July- and I thought, DAMN that's like pretty close to my arrival date! to me it looks awesome, $175 per room per week - full utilities taken care of plus its fully furbished. I emailed the agent already. I-WANT-THAT-HOUSE. I'm gonna haggle people into staying with me. Oh man I really want that transfer request to come through- and my VISA application and everything.

Oh yea. April 13-15 is the PC Fair! I'm planning on an excursion there-gonna bag myself a new laptop, so anyone's whose interested in coming along, just say it! Mind you, I won't be driving all the way to KLCC- I'll be taking the LRT there.

Now thinking about it, I'm kinda worried over my transfer application. I mean I shouldn't have any reason to be worried, my average is well above credit, but...its just this thing niggling at the back of my head. Plain old keat-pessimism I guess. That said, I'll feel all the more confident only when I get the transfer confirmation safely in my email inbox.

List of things I want before flying(I hope) off to for like, Aeons. ( or two years. same thing.)
    1. PSP Check!
    2. Laptop Check!
    3. Cool leather jacket from Zara
    4. New earphones for ipod
    5. 4GB memory stick duo
    6. new batteries for my camera
Don't know how I'm suppose to save money for all that junk. Prioritize I suppose. Oh well.

    I present my latest want.

It was really a spur of the moment thing- I was actually thinking of bringing my whole PS2 with me, but then I thought, " Wouldn't it be easier if I got the PSP instead?" much easier to carry around, can use it when I'm on public transport and I can use it as a source of entertainment.

I didn't really think of getting it initially since I thought all the games played on the PSP had to be original- but I have found out otherwise. Games can be downloaded and played on the PSP. Which basically is even better than PS2 games.

The PSP package is currently selling for around 800 bucks. I'm really thinking about it..might pop over KL this week to get one =P

    * blows the dust away*

I've been pretty inconsistent with my blogging as of late haven't I? Kind of lost the touch of updating every two to three days, although I'm not too sure why- but I came out with a fair bit of excuses, so hear me out:

    1. Poor internet. Yea. My internet fluctuates even more than my weight used to. Not very useful when I want to upload and post photos. Even before I begin posting I already get pissed at the internet- hence neglecting everything that has to do with it.
    2. Laziness? Haha. I suppose you COULD grill me for being lazy.
    3. Work. During the holidays I was working 9-5/6, 5 days a week- forgive me for not posting or making the effort=P
Anyway. Instead of coming up with more excuses, I suppose I could post a proper entry. I've been wanting to post this entry for quite some time now, but I never got around to doing it..an entry about my workplace in MUST.

After attending the microbiology labs in the new semester, I really feel the difference between the two. I was really unfamiliar with the amount of space i had to work with, and the ever-lack of equipment in our Monash labs.
    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Look at that. If you peeked to the top right corner of the picture, you would notice that there are FIVE micropipettes for me to use. FIVE! As compared to the ONE micropipette allocated to two/four students in Monash.

If you observe the white container with a translucent cover, you would see that it contains pipette tips. Pipette tips that should be used just once before throwing them away, as compared to the one pipette tip we are allocated in Monash for several hundred cycles.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Nope, nothing to complain about here. The three microcentrifuge tubes at the bottom are bacterial E. Coli cultures i prepared with an inserted vector for storage in the -80 fridge, something they call 'stock keeping' since the cultures are taken out to be grown when the inserts are needed. That yellowish liquid in the beaker is LB broth.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
See! pipette tips of different size( the blue ones in the blue container) all MINE to use too. Neutralization solution- that is used in one of the plasmid extraction procedures. The three empty bottles were bacterial cultures.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Centrifuge machines! Both can be configured to centrifuge microcentrifuge tubes or falcon tubes for large cultures. The one on the left can have its temperature configured to present a favourable environment during centrifuging. The one on the right is a normal centrifuging machine.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Haha. I suppose scientists still retain some sense of humour after all.

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It has just occurred to me how much of a nerd I am. While people post elaborate pictures about their escapades to various clubs with hot girls and smoky surroundings, I muse and post pictures of labs, and talk about how wonderful they are. Oh Yea. This will do wonders to attract the opposite sex all right.
