I realized this morning that I am almost a week late with my post...not that any of you were waiting in great anticipation for what I will be memorizing the rest of this month. I am returning to Psalm 103
Psalm 103:15 & 16
As for man his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it's gone and its place remembers it no more.
What are you memorizing?

That'll Preach!
I don't know that I even have the right words to describe the emotions and feelings I am feeling right now. I just got done listening to a song that I had never heard before called "Unto the Lamb". I am not sure if it was the words, or the amazing choir or the fabulous orchestra or because it is Easter weekend or if it is all of it together but whatever it is I had tears in my eyes as I listened to this song.
I rarely post videos but found one that I think everyone should watch. I love all of it and found myself cheering at the end when the pastor asks them to do it again. Can you imagine? Gives me goosebumps to think of it.
The second part is also posted on Youtube so I had to watch it too. At the end of that one the pastor says "I've lived long enough to know that when He shows up to get out of the way and let Him have His way. He's in charge and deserves every ounce of praise we give Him." That'll preach!!

April Fools Day
I am not much for practical jokes. Actually I love hearing about a good practical joke but when it comes to thinking of them or playing them on others, I am not very good at them. I am always quite a disappointment for my kids.
For the last week the kids have been discussing their plans for April Fools. Some of it was funny, some of it was not and some of it was just downright awful. So I decided that this year I would pull a prank on them. I filled glasses with jello made to look like juice this afternoon and served it at dinner tonight complete with straws. The kids were all delighted to have such a treat for dinner. We usually only have water or milk for dinner so to have juice was a real delight. Imagine their surprise when they couldn't get anything out of their straws! Imagine my joy (and I am talking about deep down abiding joy) when I realized that I had pulled off a practical joke!
Ainsley was not amused at all! She felt lied to and betrayed and informed us that she does not like having jokes played on her at all!
Olivia took her cue from Ainsley. At first she kind of laughed but then got a little indignant.
Jackson thought it was hilarious. He actually clued in before he tried to take a drink. I saw his eye twinkle as he told Ainsley to take a drink. The turkey had read my Family Fun Magazine and so knew the trick already. Who taught him to read anyway? He told me I shouldn't have left it in the bathroom for everyone to read. So next year I will have to hide my sources.

Verse Memory Goals- 1st & 15th
Time for verse #7. I have a book that I recently rediscovered that lists 31 ways to pray for your children. It is designed to help you pray for your kids throughout the month and has specific scriptures to pray through as well. I have had it for several years but had misplaced it and recently found out. I was glancing through it this morning and discovered this verse.
You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. (2 Corinthians 9:11 ESV)
It struck a chord with me so it is what I am memorizing this month.
