Golfing

We took our girls golfing (they have their own set of clubs that are adorable) last Friday at a local golf course! And yes...I golfed too!

I have resisted for 12 years. I have thought for years that was a dumb idea for me to chase a ball all over a field. However Jeff loves the game and really wanted me to be able to do it with him. He mentioned to his dad that I was interested and the next thing you know he had bought me clubs.

Last week was only my second time out. Can't say I love it yet but am not hating it either. I do love getting to spend time with Jeff so will keep trying to play!

Wicked

We got to see Wicked last week! Jeff gave me tickets to see it for Mother's Day! It was fabulous! I loved every minute of it! And it is now my new favorite broadway show! I am trying to figure out how we can go again before it leaves town!

Camp Pictures

Jackson returned home today from a week away at camp! He actually took a shower, brushed his teeth and changed his clothes more than once. (That is huge growth compared to his first year 2 years ago!) He had a fabulous time and can't wait to return next year! His grandpa compiled these pictures of the two cousins!

Counting Down

We are counting down the days (isn't everyone???) until we can see our favorite family members ...I mean characters (Troy, Vanessa, & Sharpay) again with new music and great choreographed dance moves. High School Musical 3 opens in theaters on October 24. Maybe not on everyone's radar but definitely on ours! Woohoo!

Healing

On Sunday Ainsley tore up her leg pretty good at a local park. She was quite brave considering the injury and didn't cry until Jeff said she needed to go see the doctor.

We took her to our local Pediatrics Emergency Room (fabulous experience- can you say thank you Jesus for cable cartoons??) where they numbed her up, cut off the loose flap of skin, scrubbed out the dirt and rocks and sent us on our way. She was very thankful that she is completely up to date on all of her shots!

By the amount of blood on her legs and feet and the look of the nasty gash I figured we were in for a long week with our very "low pain tolerance" girl. Sunday evening was a little rough once the numbness wore off but she woke up perky on Monday morning and even went to swimming lessons (with a water proof bandage of course.)

Every day it has looked better and better...and I am completely in awe of how God has designed our bodies to heal themselves.

We'll find this funny someday...why not now?

I was helping Ainsley water the flowers when she got confused with what she was supposed to be watering and began spraying me point blank...as I stood there in shock she is saying "I'm so sorry Mama, I'm so sorry" as she pulled the trigger harder and harder. I was rendered completely immobile as I was getting completely soaked. It was so shocking that is was absolutely hysterical. Jackson's newest saying is "We'll find this funny someday so why not now?" I figured that was completely appropriate for today.

It's "Dews"day

Jeff suggested we try all the different Mt. Dews for our Try Something New Tuesday thus dubbing it Try Something New "Dews"day. If you know Jeff at all he is a huge fan of Mt. Dew so this was right up his alley.

Since he was off this week we decided to do it at lunchtime so that the caffeine would have time to wear off. We tried 6 different ones...this was an act of love for me. I am not a big dew fan. Jeff was more than happy to finish most of my drinks.

I have tried to make this somewhat educational so have had everyone rate their favorites to least favorites and then have had Jackson find the average for us. It was cute watching the girls line the bottles of Mt. Dew up from their favorite to least favorite.

The kids seem to have enjoyed this experience. So far we have tried Reese's, Apples (Fuji was our favorite), Pizzas (mac & cheese the hands down favorite), Jelly Belly's (Juicy Pear was hated by all) and now Mt. Dews. The kids are already lobbying for what next week will bring.

12 years and counting

Today we celebrated our 12th anniversary! It was a rather modest celebration...no special trips (we are going to see Wicked next week), no special meal (we did enjoy a church picnic), no real alone time together (we did spend about 2 hours together in the ER with Ainsley this afternoon getting a minor wound cleaned up), no lovey dovey cards (who wants to waste good money on that? We did think about visiting the card store together and picking out cards and having each other read them right there like Jeff's sister and her husband do but were too busy going to the ER), no big celebrations (we did watch the video of our wedding together with the kids...okay we watched our wedding in triple time with the kids, they were a little bored as was the former groom.)

However I wouldn't change the day for anything.

I think Jeff suits me like a good pair of shoes- you know the kind that fit your feet perfectly, that still make your feet feel good even after a long day of being in them. That kind that you will pay any amount of money for and will search high and low to find. And once you find them will take care of them at all costs.

I am gratefully married to my best friend who is also the best daddy any child could hope to have!

Help Needed

I apologize for revisiting this new sports bra but need help with an ongoing debate that Jeff and I are having. Is this a man or a woman? Leave your vote in the comment section!

Montage

Jeff has always had an admiration for good montages...you know the string of video clips or pictures put together to music that capture the event. At the end of a day of the Olympics or at the end of American Idol or after a tragic event. The ones that always tug at your heart and inspire you!

In the last 5 or 6 years he has dabbled a little bit with montages and has developed a secret talent (actually it isn't so secret anymore) of being able to put together video montages that are really good. He is most well known at our church for his VBS montages.

Me, being his not so secret admirer and biggest groupy has been bugging him for 3 weeks now to upload his most recent VBS video so I can share it with my fan base (which is all of 10's of people) but still I want to share it because he did such a great job with it!

So here it is finally...our church's VBS video montage filmed and edited by Jeff. (One of our pastors said this one is his finest montage yet...I would agree but then I think every one that he does is his finest yet.)

Hickerbilly Tank Top

Look at it closely.........

How economical!!! If you watch the sales you can get a 3 pack for less than $6 and in a variety of colors. How is that for a cheap summer top!
