December 2021 long time between posts

Wow, so much happens in a few years. A total of 4 Grand children. 2 of each. Almost empty nesters. That revolving front door needs a lock. After reading through many of my posts, I think I should add regularly, just for the memories. Let us see if that happens. My craft has expanded and I've resurrected some old skills. Painting, drawing, resin and the list goes on. Retirement is not close enough yet. My Studio is expanding and one day I just may charge for sharing my knowledge. Photos to show just a little of what I've been doing.

Studio photo update

Woohoo, yes I can officially call my space a Studio. Extended into half of the rumpus area. No one used the space apart from dumping area.

Lots of Iron on and sticker making with my Cricut. Still not making money from it yet, just lots of personalised gifts.

Wow, how time flies

Soooooooooo, it says it has been 3 years since my last post. I credit some blame to Facebook.. Let's see if I can make it a short story. Work, ANC, sleep, work, ANC, sleep.........................................So I gave away ANC to win back some work-life balance. One cannot survive on an average of 3 hours sleep per night over years. It took nearly a year later to start creating again. Photography, scrapbooking, Cricut fun and painting, now fill my down time. More so Cricut fun and painting right now.

So now the small humans have increased in numbers, a grandson added to the grandchildren total. Still working full-time, dealing with some health stuff - not just mine. Number 4 driving lessons. So many photos to add..might have to jump between laptop and phone, yes, I have turned to easy shots with the phone. My poor SLR is feeling a little neglected.
Until I log in from phone......

Catch up......

After the debacle of updating to Windows 10 and restoring back to Windows 7, I had lost my Cricut programs. Checked online and followed instructions to reinstall. Welllllllllllll that was not easy. A few attempts at troubleshooting and uninstalling yet again then reinstalling and my computer wouldn't pass the message to cut. They were talking and registering each other were there, but that was it. Soooooo many more hours googling and trying resets etc. I stumbled across the suggestion to uninstall Adobe AIR and install an earlier version. You see the most recent version installs when installing Cricut Craft Room, but they aren't compatible, well not at least with Windows 7. So yet again another install, and finally all is well. So I have made myself a reminder on the manual. I also made myself a Cricut Troubleshooting folder for bookmarked web pages, just in case I have to go there again.....So now I'm having fun manipulating cuts to fit my PL pocket pages....all in time to back to work.... :(

Just a few things using my Mother's Day Gift card for Spotlight from the Big Boy......I pretty much only got things already reduced and most rang up cheaper again at the checkout...Yay!! .....I think I'm becoming a Heidi and Becky groupie... Since taking on the Project Life style of scrapbooking, amongst my normal 12x12 style, I've been collecting a lot of PL style cards. It has made using the hundreds of family history photos I printed many years ago a little easier. Basic pages with the Who, What and Where info. At least they are coming together to make the ancestor details easier to follow. 2nd photo is of my 2nd trip. No....I didn't spend it all in one trip for the sake of using it.... :) Made a start (finally) on the girls keepsake hat boxes. The round frames in the 2nd photo are going on the lids.

Hat boxes a work in progress, both ultimately the same only colours. Wanted something that wasn't too babyish, but not grown up either. Purple for IzzyB and pink for SiSi.

A sleeping SiSi with Piglet below.
 A sleeping IzzyB with Eeyore.
The girls are growing up big now at 2 1/2years.

Even managed a quick LO of the Goob. He now has a licence, car and apprenticeship....although no photos to prove it. That age when he just wants to be out and about. I just have to pin him down long enough.

Until next time.....

Some not so scrap creations.....

So I finally got back to some painting, pretty pleased with the result. 40 x 60" canvas, so not little. Now itching to get to another, but looking for the right inspiration....thinking wooden jetty over water with sunset...just need to find the 'right' kind of jetty so I can get the detail right.

A tin made for our school music teacher expecting her little blue bundle in June/July. Began life as a laundry tin from Kmart. Would love to have a go at the first aid tins with the hinged lid.
Easter basket for my niece. Vintage looking chicken wire basked with fabric strips. Got two more to make for some other special girls.
Two more tins, this time for Ash's niece and nephew. Quick job this one.

Now I should really do some cleaning up in my scraproom......ohhhh and the rest of the house.

More PL LO's...

Two more PL pages...the top two photos in the 2nd page need something more....but I'm getting stuff created. Originally I bought the PL page protectors to put my ancestor photos in, particularly since I don't have details of the events, just names, but these are looking better than the basic that they were.

Some more goodies....

So a trip to IKEA yesterday saw me find bargain tags, labels and paperbags....$1.49-$2.60 a piece....who would have thought the kitchen accessories would be a perfect place to find supplies for craft. Even better that the smaller ones will be ideal for PL style LO's.

Typo gift card got me 4 boxes of timber veneers. Cork letter ones, banner styles and shapes...and I still have $11.63 on my giftcard. Checked out Riot for art supplies, got the desk organiser for $9.99 and all up 15 gate fold page protectors for $12. My pages are really getting a variety of styles.

I return to work in 4 days....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! all too soon, but planning to commit to craft at least once a month...Dates set with My Dear Bec for the first Tuesday of each month. Of course I hope to create more than this, but time does interfere.
