Monthly ATCs by Tracey B

 Hi everyone

I hope you're getting into the weekly prompts for ATC.   I'm truly loving this form of creating, getting to try my hand at things I haven't tried before - like doodling!

Here's what I came up with using some Dina Wakley paint, 13@rts color glow, some Derwent Inktense and Lucky Findings Artist Trading Collective images.

'Graceful' - with Emma

Happy Thursday friends,

Today I have created something more my style and away from the neon colours of last week 😜

This canvas features papers from the Lucky Findings 'Urban Forge' Collection and one of the wonderful images from the Lucky Findings Imagery - 'Beauty's Essence'

It was great getting a little grungy, using up some of my stash and layering rub-ons with stencils and paper elements.

I hope you are just a little inspired just as I was creating this project.

Catch you all again soon.

Beauty by Tracey B

 Good morning everyone

Creating with Kylie's Lucking Findings Imagery and Artist Trading Collective is just a joy.   Add a touch of 49 & Market and it's happy days.

Started with a brick stencil, Mustard Seed distress ink and a blending tool.

I then repositioned the stencil slightly, added some Kitsch Flaming Distress Ink with a blending brush and then some Light and Fluffy modelling paste mixed with a Twisted Citron Distress spray stain through an old Vicki Boutin stencil.

I used one of the images from Lucky Findings Imagery - Colour Mist and some 49 and 49 bits including
Sprectrum Sherbet chipboard

Just checking placement

I also added some vintage Heidi Swapp ghost flowers (Clementine) and some Hello Today buttons.
From my stash I added washi tape, mulberry paper, embroidery floss and finished off with some Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmer Mist - Evergreen and a title from Lucky Findings Artist Trading Collective - Harlequin.

Here comes the bride…….

Here Comes the Bride

Designer: Lisa Oxley - Scrappingclearly Curated Collective Team

This mixed-media artwork combines vintage elements with the contemporary bold aesthetic. The central  focus features a surreal and dramatic bride adorned with an oversized crown, merging historical imagery with modern Pop- art influences.  The juxtaposition of the bride and the groom evokes a sense of timeless storytelling, while the layered background and splashes of vibrant pinks and reds add energy and depth.

Key Features:

  1. Layered Background: abstract painterly strokes in red pink and white create a rich textured base that draws the viewer into the scene.
  2. Collage elements: vintage portraits is reimagined with modern artistic details including the brides, colourful embellishments and Tones.
  3. Symbolism: Birds, chandeliers and foliage motives add layers of narrative, suggesting themes of freedom, luxury and connection to nature.
  4. Contrast of styles: the combination of delicate florals and bold graphic elements, bridges traditional and contemporary design aesthetics.
This piece is ideal for those exploring surreal storytelling in art journaling and scrapbooking, blending whimsy with bold expression.

'Oeh, LA LAH!' - by Emma Zappone

Howdy!
It's Thursday, so It's my turn to share today.
I thought I would attempt the Moodboard for the month, but wowzers 😲😬 so much Fluro!!!

This is what I ended up creating.

I decided to play in my Art Journal, this way I felt more in control.
Check out the board here....

I opted to use one of the awesome new images from the Neon Alice Imagery sheets.
They are so cool, but oh so bright!
To say this was out of my comfort zone was an understatement. So much neon and grunge.

I started with some Rub ons and then added some Dina Wakley acrylic paints in the Fluro colours. I added these with a palette knife, overlapping the colours as I went.

I used a brick wall stencil with some black Gesso, just lightly, to add the effect over the fluro paints.
I flicked a lot of paint around to, to add that extra grunge to the page.

I scribbled on the background to look like Graffiti, this was a little nerve racking, but I just went for it.
Same with the borders around the page, drawing a loose line and adding scribble.
As scary as it was, it was also very enjoyable and freeing.

I painted over the butterfly wings with the fluro paints and added lines and more scribble to them.
This broke up the background with the focal image very well.

I hope you find some inspo from my project and have a play.
I look forward to sharing again soon.

Pride Week by Tracey B

 Good morning everyone

I love travelling which I do a fair bit of without much of a plan.

Arrived in Berlin in time for Pride week which was chaotic, stunning and all together fabulous.

This LO is based on this month's sketch (with a little nod to the mood board).

Products I've used include

Vicki Boutin patterned paper - Inspired
Lotus stencil
Twinkling h2Os
brick die cut

chipboard letters which I covered with Deco Foil transfer gel Duo and MINC Hot Pink Reactive Foil.  (This was the first time I've used a MINC and it was super easy.   I missed some spots with the transfer gel so the foil didn't stick completely at the edges in places but that's user error and I will get better!)

Vicki Boutin Color Study Thickers which I covered with Vicki Boutin Creativefx iridescent glaze and Colour Arte Silks acrylic glaze (Pink Anthurium).

Distress Mica Stain - Frosty Mint
Distress Spritz - Peacock Feathers
Cocoa Vanilla puffy stickers - Sunkissed

Happy by Tracey B

Good morning everyone

Isn't this year just zipping along.   Hard to believe it's already February.

Seeing as it is February, there are some brand new challenges to inspire you.

I based this LO on the mood board.  Such happy colours for a happy event in my life (no judgement please!)

Products I've used include

Kaiser Craft brick stencil
Distress crayon (Wicked Elixer, Flickering Candle & Jack-o-lantern)
Gelato (pink)
TCW mini specimen stencil
Black gesso with sponge
grid stamp (using crayons)
Die cuts from my stash
chipboard - from my stash
Dina Wakley paint (Tubular, Stoked and Lemon)
Heidi Swapp Wanderlust foam word which I heat embossed instead of foiling.   (I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as it buckled - a lot!)

ATC sized Tunnel Book, by Amanda H

Hello friends!

When your ONE ATC card (ATC Prompt: Week 6 Mixed Media) turns into a whole little book......

This was inspired by the tunnel book that Dina Wakley shared on social media last week.

It was cute, looked easy to make and I knew it would be PERFECT to use the NEW Lucky Findings Artist Trading Collectives.

Background combined book papers (Thank you Gel Medium!) with Dina Wakley Acrylic paints and Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and Watercolour Pencils.

Here are some basic steps with some measurements if you want to make a "tunnel" book!

Thanks for looking!
