Cuttlebug Challenge Blog Fall DT Member

A few weeks ago I was invited by Maggie to join the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog Design Team for a period of 6 months. I love using my die cutting machine - it is one of my favorite tools - and I am always in for a challenge, so the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is right up my alley. Today Maggie announced the Fall Design Team. I am excited to be part of such an amazingly talented group of designers. My sweet friend Hanneke is part of the Fall DT too. Isn't that great? The Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is meant to inspire you. The DT will bring you exciting ideas, challenges, tutorials, videos and even contests!

The CuttleBug Challenge Blog is having a countdown to the Summer CHA 09' Celebration!!! It starts on June 29th and doesn't end until July 31st!!! That's an ENTIRE month of FUN....and you get to see all the new folders in action!!! How exciting!!! You can check out all the details here!



Oh....and did you already see the new 5x7" and A2 embossing Christmas folders that Provo Craft will be releasing at CHA Summer? You can find them here.

Busy

I have been pretty busy lately and hardly have time to participate in any of my favorite challenge blogs. Things at work are very hectic, and the same goes for my scrapbooking. Lots of assignments and deadlines to meet. CHA is coming up in a few weeks, and I have to prepare a few projects for Jillibean Soup. I would like to finish my projects next week, so I can send them to Jill in time.

This layout about Sanne was published in Scrapbook Magazine 23. These gorgeous BoBunny patterned papers were taken home straight from CHA by Truike, owner of Paper & Pictures at the end of January. Again I had the privilege to work with the newest papers for the magazine. Can't wait to find out what the manufacturers have in mind for us this summer.

ShortCuts & The Cutting Cafe Tutorial

As promised, I am back to share a tutorial on how to make the window envelope that I showed you last Wednesday. You will need a 8.5 x 11" piece of patterned paper, a piece of a ShortCuts clear and frosted sheet, and an envelope template from The Cutting Cafe. It's an easy project and can be finished in a short time.

Happy Father's Day

A bit late on Sunday as it is already 10.45 pm, but I didn't have time to do a post earlier today. Eric got spoilt this morning with beautiful handmade gifts by Fleur and Sanne. Fleur made him a note-pad with LOTS of glitter on the cover and back, so our bed is full of glitters now. Sanne made him a pencil box as well as 3 drawings. We also bought Eric 3 books of his favorite writers Martin Bril - who unfortunately passed away earlier this year - and Hugo Borst.

I created this card for my father-in-law. I used the Jillibean Soup Black Bean collection.

Giggle

It has been more than a year and a half ago since Florence Bavinck came over to our home for our family photo shoot. So far, I have only scrapped a few pictures of that shoot. I love these pictures of Fleur and Sanne taken in Fleur's bedroom. I scrapped the picture on the right before, but.....I have two girls and two albums to fill so a good excuse to scrap the picture again. This time I used the oh so yummy Minestrone collection. I just love the patterns and colors of this collection. This layout is based this sketch by Create My Keepsake.

ShortCuts & The Cutting Cafe

It's Wednesday so time to show you a new ShortCuts project. Just like last week the ShortCuts DT worked with The Cutting Cafe printables again. A perfect combo! This week I used an envelope template. With Father's Day coming up I wanted to create an envelope for a gift coupon. This one is for my dad. My mom and dad are on holiday, and don't have access to the internet, so it is safe to already show my Father's Day gift.

As said, my mom and dad are on holiday for 3 weeks. Just like last year (and the year before) we went to visit them for a weekend. We left last Friday around noon, and came back home on Sunday evening. The weather was beautiful (except for Sunday morning), so we spent lots of time outside. We went to the beach, rode a bike, went to a large playground, had a BBQ and sat in the yard. We had a wonderful time and I wish we could have stayed longer.

CARDS Toot & True Love

I am very excited to share that my Jillibean Soup Give Thanks card, and ShortCuts It's a Boy card are requested for publication in the November issue of CARDS. It will be my very first publication in CARDS.

The layout below was made for Jillibean Soup. I just love the kraft collections that you can easily combine with one of the other Jillibean Soup collections. This picture of my mom and dad was taken on their wedding day in August 1966. They will be celebrating their 43th anniversary on August 16th this year.

ShortCuts, The Cutting Cafe & Got Sketch? 86

ShortCuts has teamed up with The Cutting Cafe this month. Regina from The Cutting Cafe has some beautiful printable stamps, shaped cards and boxes.

For the first card I used the Cupcake template, and a ShortCuts clear card base. You can print the templates on your patterned paper or cardstock. I printed the cupcake on plain paper first, because I couldn't use the glitter cardstock in my printer. I made this card for my friend Irma who is celebrating her birthday today.

Jillibean Soup Cards

I have two cards to share with you today. Both were made for the Jillibean Soup blog. The Give Thanks card is based on a Becky Fleck sketch that you can find here. I used the yummy Spicy Pumpkin on Kraft collection. I just love the fall colors of this collection. I also made a matching envelope.

Pubbed Layouts & a Sneak Peek

I worked on several DT assignments this weekend, but unfortunately I can't show you anything yet. Instead, I show you two layouts that were pubbed in issue #23 of Scrapbook Magazine. Thanks to Truike from Paper & Pictures I was one of the very first in the Netherlands who had a chance to work with the Minestrone collection from Jillibean Soup. She got a sampler pack at CHA Winter, and I was the lucky one to create a few projects with the gorgeous papers for her magazine. Minestrone has been my favorite collection since the very beginning. I just love the designs and colors.

This layout is about Sanne. I just love the pictures that were taken on my father-in-law's boat in July 2007. She wears Eric's Australian hat to protect her from the sun.

The second layout is about Sanne too. At the beginning of this year she could finally ride her bike without training wheels. Before that she was just too lazy to try it, and didn't feel like doing it at all. Since she can ride her bike all by herself she loves to go out for a ride.

Week 1 of 2 Sketches 4 You's 1st Annual Ultimate Card Showdown turned out to be a HUGE success. I viewed all 413 (!) entries, and I can tell you it wasn't easy to narrow it down to 30 favorites. There is a lot of talent in the card making world. Later today the 30 finalists will be revealed as well as the Card of the Week and the Fab 5. So.....be sure to check 2 Sketches 4 You later on.

I know it isn't Wednesday, but I do have another ShortCuts card to show you today. ShortCuts is this week's sponsor at Cute Card Thursday, a weekly challenge blog. Challenge #63 is Nip and a Punch. The ShortCuts DT was challenged to make a card using punches and die cuts. Not a difficult task for a girl who is addicted to punches. *smile* The base of my card is a clear card blank. It's a Boy

When I got home from work today I checked my e-mail just before dinner. I was super excited to find an e-mail from Scrapbooks Etc. in my inbox requesting one of my Jillibean Soup layouts (the one about me...) that they would love to include in their January 2010 issue. Wooohooo! My first publication in an American scrapbook magazine.

I also received another exciting e-mail, but I will share more about that one next week.

Card*a*licious 22, and 2S4Y Ultimate Card Showdown

Challenge 22 by Card*a*Licious was on my to do list for almost 2 weeks. Today I finally had some time to create a card for the challenge. I had a summerish card in mind, but ended of with this Get Well card. Not really what I had in mind, but at least I met all challenge requirements (stars, flowers and stitching).

Today is the 1st anniversary of 2 Sketches 4 You. Laura and Kazan started this adventure a year ago, and 2 Sketches 4 You has been a huge success ever since.
