Wedding Belle!

Happy Monday to you all!  I am currently on vacation thru July 7th and my family and I are in Key West enjoying some time off and fun in the sun!  I will keep my chatter short & sweet so I save time on the "relaxation end of my vacation" LOL!  It is 11 pm on Sunday night and I'm frantically trying to finish up all my chores, take a shower and MAYBE get 2 hours sleep before I get up again at 3 am to go to airport...yikes!

CLASSES ON SALE NOW...BUNDLE DEALS AVAILABLE TOO!
Great time to save...just because you buy a few does NOT mean you have to start them right away. You start them when you are ready!

Wedding Belle!

Today is Mini Monday on the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog..always some great ideas each Monday for using these cute Mini Magnolia stamps.   I've chosen to use a new one from the Special Moments Collection "Mini Special Day Tilda"...I think she'd be great for both weddings AND First Communion (I'm not Catholic but I grew up with lots of friends that were ;) )!  I went with a round-doily shaped base for my card...very feminine and frilly.

She got colored with Touch Twin Markers!  I added some Stickles to her veil and around the image for pretty sparkle.  A few rhinestones accent the image.  I had to add a bit of pink to the image as well, loved the small pop of pastel color.

I grouped a bunch of flowers in white, cream and pink along with a large bow I made using my Bow Easy out of this sheer-polka-dot ribbon.  The crytals are from Magnolia as well and add a pretty accent.

Make sure to stop by the Challenge Blog to see what the other DT gals created!
Enjoy your week!

Wedding Bells Anyone!?

Happy TGIFriday...short week for me but I have managed to get everything done that I needed wahoo.  Today I'm cleaning the basement real good and baseboards...Riley has friends coming over and Alexa is off to a friends house for a sleepover.  Saturday is chore day...lots of things I want to get done to the dismay of my hubby...but the chore list calls and I won't feel good unless a few things get marked off.  And I gotta get some furniture up on Craigs List to get rid of it...we got new family room furniture and I gotta make room for it LOL.  I'm also working on front porch/door redo so lots to do for that too...hope to have it all done by end of month.  My hubby is procrastinator-EXTRAORDINAIRE so I gotta be on him all the time...seriously he will start a project and be content to not finish it for months.  It drives me NUTTY...if I start it I want it finished ASAP so I can start the next one.  I like the sense of completion and fulfillment...obvs he does NOT share my love of those things LOL.  So I'm like a bull...charging ahead...dragging him along with me usually unwillingly hee hee but that's just how it goes in my house ;)

Then on Sunday we will be at an Orioles game in Baltimore during the day and finish up the evening in DC at a Wash Caps hockey game...yeah a full day of sports.  Might sound terrible to most of y'all but sounds like a GREAT day to me!  ONLY thing is I miss the ACM's that night hosted by my Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton..but I'll be taping it so no worries.  But no play-by-play commentary from me on Facebook during the show like I usually do...I know I know...y'all are sad...boo hoo...hahahahaha!  So make sure to tune in cuz I'll be watching LATE when I get home on Sunday no doubt!

Wedding Bells!

Today I'm sharing a wedding card I made using a beautiful Saturated Canary stamp from Little Darlings Stamps.  I'm the lucky guest designer this month for the Little Darlings Challenge and the shop is owned by my lovely and talented friend Angie Hunt.  The challenge is Anything Goes so hop on over and check it out and join in!  This beautiful stamp is called "Rebecca" and is only available in rubber stamp form.  I think she works fabulous for a wedding card don't you?  I kept the colors soft and shabby chic-like...feminine and romantic.

My papers are a mix from Docraft's Papermania "Lincoln Linen" and Pink Paislee's "London Market" were used.  I inked and distressed them all with my Zutter Distress machine (luv that thing..it can make a racket but it works soooo good).  I used a few dies on this...the doily mat behind the image is from Marianne Designs and the swirls at the corners is Memory Box "Quinn Flourish", corners are made with a die from La La Land.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the keys are from Tim Holtz and hatpins I made myself.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps and a few pretty pearls finish it off.

She got colored with Copics...the dress is the E44 thru E40 range and hair is E59,E44,E15,E31,E50.  I also added a soft background with Copics E41,E50,W00 and then added some Stickles to the background and to her dress for sparkle.  Diamond Glaze on her eyes and ribbon.

That's all for me....hope you will pop over to the Little Darlings Challenge and join in on the fun!
Have a great weekend!!

Marry Me!

Today I'm sharing my April Magnolia-licious Challenge Card with you--I'm a few days late so I apologize but I didn't get to finish it before I left for AZ.  This month our hostess is the lovely Sharon Caudle and she challenged us to use BOTH Tilda & Edwin since poor lil' Edwin is so underused, LOL!  Well I love this image from the Wedding Collection 2010 at Magnolia-licious---so lovely!  You can find all the Challenge details at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog HERE!

This image is just the sweetest dontcha' think?  I love how she's reaching for his face--so sweet!  I created this card thinking of a beautiful Spring Wedding outside (or could be for Prom too).  I used "Loving Bridal Couple" and then the newer "Stone Pathway".  My papers are new by Melissa Frances--love them, so soft & pretty!  The die behind my image is a newer Spellbinders Pendant (I split it in half and added it to each end of the circle) and the green leaves are a new Marianne Designs die (love me them dies).  The flowers are new by KaiserCraft--aren't they gorgeous!?

Yes this got colored with Copics---BG15,BG10,Colorless Blender/E43,E42,E41,E40/YR24,YR20,E31/E25,E31,E50/E11,E00,R20.  The couple got cut out and popped up on dimensionals in front of the garden.  I added stickles to the flowers & bodice of her dress for some soft bling (also on the scrolly leaves).

Now make sure to hop on over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to participate in this challenge AND the awesome Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest!  The prizes are FABULOUS!

Bridal Joy Ride!!

Well hello and a Happy Tuesday to you all!  I hope you all had a wonderful 3-day holiday weekend (for those of us in the states anyhow)--I know I sure did!  The weather was beyond perfect, no humidity, blue skies and soft breezes.  We spent the majority of our time outside enjoying the weather, almost completed patio and just good ole family time.  I didn't work much this weekend so I could really spend quality time with my family and enjoy this last weekend of summer before the busy-ness of school, traveling and holidays come along.  And yesterday we braved the HUGE crowds of shoppers at our area's largest mall (Tysons and Tysons Galleria) to finish the much dreaded school shopping--ugh!  The lines were long but we managed to get in & out in 2.5 hours so that wasn't too bad and the kids are all done except for winter coats and some sweaters which we'll pick up later in the season when they're needed.  Then we came home, organized and labeled school supplies and the kids got in bed early after showers.  Alexa is super excited to start her new high school--her high school is brand new this year and it's beautiful!  They transferred kids from a few other high schools but the classes will remain small for a few more years and she'll be the first graduating class that goes all 4 years there which is kinda special.  Riley is of course excited to see his friends and his favorite class which is history :)  Poor Alexa has her first day tomorrow and then has cheerleading practice followed by a football game so she'll be there from 8:30 am until almost 10 pm.  We'll be going to the game tomorrow to see her cheer of course!

This week will be semi-light for me as I'm getting prepared to get on the road for my traveling Copic Classes (see locations and info at www.cmcroad.com )--I've got lots to finish this week including all the written tutorials and info packs which is a lot of work to get done.

NewsBitz:

Bridal Joy Ride!!

So I'm breaking out some of my older projects I did this year for the first issues of the magazine "Through the Craftroom Door" that me and my pal Marti publish.  This was one of my favorites and I just had to use this one today!  I made a fun bridal thank-you note set that could be given as part of a wedding shower or wedding day present.  It includes a fun card for the bride & groom so you could stick some cash or a gift card in and a box of matching thank you notes.  The stamp set I used for this set is PTI's "Enjoy the Ride" set--which is really fun.  It includes all kinds of fun sentiments for the car's license plate and they also sell the matching car die that I used on the notecard set!

This is the card for the bride & groom and I kept the color scheme all yellow, white and black but you could of course change it for the season or to match the wedding's colors.  I colored the card with Copics (i'll add the colors later but I believe it was Y18,Y15,Y11,Y00,Y0000).  Then I added some diamond glaze to the back window and stickles to the headlights--the bumper got a subtle sparkle from a clear Spica Pen.  To add a touch of whimsy and romance I added some yellow Prima mini roses to the back window as well.  Then around the circle image and along the sentiment I added Viva Decor Pearl Pen pearls in cream for some elegance.  The paper trim was done with a MS border punch and the sentiment was popped up in the center with pop-dots for more dimension.

From the pictures above it's hard to tell but each notecard was scored with my Scor-Pal to create a basket weave texture on the white cardstock.  Then I used some of the fabulous papers from GCD Studios to trim the edges and added some paper trims with my MS border punch.  The pearls again were made with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen and the sentiment is from another PTI set.

To finish the set off I packed up the notecards and envelopes in a clear acrylic box (I get mine at www.clearbags.com ).  I wrapped the box with a band using all of my same papers and I also used the matching PTI car die and stamped the car on top of it again, added some more roses and tied it on with a pretty bow.  I know a lot of brides would love to get a coordinating thank you note set like this and it was soooo much fun to create!

Have a wonderful day!

Beachy Wedding Bells!!

Hi All and Happy July 1st (and Happy Canada Day to my Canandian friends)! Wow--did June fly by quick or what? Do any of you (here in the States) have plans for the 4th of July? We're going to do some fun things around Hilton Head Island during the day and then camp out on the beach in front of our beach house that evening to see the Fireworks over the ocean--can't wait! So a few of you guessed correctly that I had changed my hair, lol---but nope I didn't cut it or color it but it did suddenly get 6 inches longer, hee hee! I have the WORST time growing out my hair and I have tried & tried but I cannot get past that awful growing out phase. I always end up chopping it off because to me there is nothing worse than spending a bunch of time in the salon or bathroom fixing it--arghhh! I'm not much of a salon girl and I go every 4-5 months and that's it--so I decided to get some extensions to get me thru that phase! Hopefully this way I will be able to get it long enough to not have to deal with layers and weird curly cowlicks, lol--we'll see! But I like it so far and it doesn't take me long to do and I can air dry it, which is heaven to me!!  Me and the blowdryer DO NOT get along well, lol!

Long post below, so read carefully cuz' there may be some "sweet candy" mixed on in!! :)

Beachy Wedding Bells!

Since it is the 1st of July that means it's a new Magnolia-licious DT Sketch Project to share with you.  This month I was the hostess and I challenged the DT to create these fun Stand-Alone Pop-Up cards using a great tutorial from SCS HERE and they're all SUMMER themed!  You can find out all the details on this month's sketch project and how to join in the fun (AND WIN) at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog HERE!  My project, the insert is not meant to pull out---just folds down flat for mailing.  I have made these before (see here) and made them so the insert comes out.  You can easily resize these as well--my project above measure 5.75" across.

I decided to pull out my favorite stamp from the NEW Wedding Collection from  Magnolia-licious HERE--this cute couple is called "Loving Bridal Couple".  Love them and how she's reaching up to touch his face!  The other stamp with the billowing fabric colored arch is "Wedding Background" (there is also a romantic sunset stamp here in this collection here that would be beautiful too).  The pretty scrolls on top are done with my Marianne D dies (I used this frame die here and cut off the edges), the edge scrolls are from that set of dies as well.

My husband and I want to renew our wedding vows on our anniversary this November, and I really want to do it on the beach (Little Palm Island in the Keys of FL is our goal) so this card was created with that in mind.  I used soft creams and blues and lots of texture to re-create a beach wedding scene, the colors are so elegant and soothing to me.  The blue dp is by Magnolia for the wedding collection (see here).

Here's a closer up picture of them--they're colored with Copics of course!  I used Mudd Puddles sand (in Malibu Beach here) on the beach (love that stuff, so cool & dries quick & hard) and the ocean got diamond glaze & stickles on it.  Stickles were also used on the top of her pretty wedding dress and the pretty, billowing fabric got a coat of Buttercream Shimmerz for a subtle sparkle.  (The creams were done with E42 thru E40 Copics, Blues were B99 thru B91 with some C2 to gray it down a bit)  The couple are popped up a bit with pop-dots to stand out just a bit from the background!

This sentiment is from a Gina K set "Botanicals"--I love the fonts and the saying---so it was perfect!  I love how this project turned out--it's gonna sit on my "permanent collection" shelf!  Now make sure to hop over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to join in on the fun!  And see all those new Wedding Collection stamps at Magnolia-licious here.

**And because I'm in the giving/vacation mode, hee hee--leave me a comment here by next Monday telling me "where your special relaxation/peaceful place is in the world?" and you could win 2 stamps of your choice from Magnolia-licious from me! **

See ya back here on Saturday with a new post & some more vacay pictures!

Perfect Love!!

Happy, happy Wednesday to you all!! Do you miss me at all? LOL! I'm sure to be resting, relaxing & reading ALOT! Gettin' my mojo juices restocked! So here's another quick post for ya! Don't forget to stop by next week cuz I have more posts & challenges going up for ya even though I'm not here, hee hee!

This card uses 3 new Whiff of Joy stamps from the wonderful "Women's Delight" collection available here & at 7kids College Fund! I stamped the bride & groom together & colored them with Copics to match the Amy Butler dp I used. You know the saying "something borrowed, something blue" so I had to add some blue to the flowers & grooms vest/bowtie! Her dress has a nice coat of Pixie Dust Shimmerz on it & the veil was coated with diamond Stickles! I added the lovely sentiment also by WOJ and some elegant pearls! A perfet wedding card me thinks! Hope you likee!

hugz,
Suzanne

New Sweetheart Release!!

Hi friends & Happy Wednesday--halfway thru the week we are!! Glad you all liked my grumpy "Poncho" pictures yesterday--that cat is such a lil' diva I tell ya. When he's unhappy with me for whatever reason he follows me around the house screeching--especially when we leave for vacations, oh boy--he is not happy. Sits in my suitcase screeching & then screeches more at me when I get home, hee hee--I love him to bitz though!! Guess he's gonna be really mad cuz come next Saturday we're leaving for the beach for 2 weeks, LOL--luckily I have a good friend/neighbor who comes everyday and checks on them & feeds them. Whoever said cats like to be left at home never met my 5 cats--they hate it, they're all pretty social which I like!! Anywho, I've got some sneakie peekies for ya today so make sure and scroll all the way to the bottom!

**If you haven't entered for my 200,000 Hits BLOG CANDY you have until Friday, June 12th to do so right HERE!**

So first up is the new "Anki's Sweethearts for SCACD-Series 2" sneak peek for ya. These new stamps will be available at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design on Friday, June 12th! The entire DT (on my sidebar) has sneak peeks of the stamps today & tomorrow so make sure & hop around to see all of them (we all used a different stamp). There is also some YUMMY BLOG CANDY up at the store blog HERE if you'd like to enter!

I used "Cathrine" for my sneak today and isn't she a cutie with her lil' kitty friends--speaks right to my heart! I paired her up with this soft & lovely dp from Melissa Frances--love the colors, so pretty. She's colored with Copics and then I put a nice coat of Shimmerz (pixie dust) on top of her dress, stickles on the flowers and then my fave' Kaiser pearls. The fun ball trim was given to me by my friend Katharina (WOJ) for my birthday & I loved it paired with this image--kinda like the ball of yarn the kitty is chasing! I also spritzed the whole card with my fave "Baby's Breath" Shimmerz Spritz. Now make sure and hop around the DT blogs to see their fabulous sneakie peekies! Lots of fab & cute stamps to be seen!

Second sneak peek for you today are some more fabulous stamps from the new Whiff of Joy "Women's Delight Collection" by Elisabeth Bell--all of the images are fantastically beautiful I tell ya! (these stamps will be available for purchase on June 14th) I stamped the beautiful swing and colored with copics & cut out w/ my oval nestabilities, then after coloring Willow the Bride with Copics, I cut her out & popped her up on the swing with dimensionals. Her dress got a nice coat of Shimmerz (pixie dust) and the veil was done with diamond Stickles--so she's nice & shimmery & beautiful! The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy too--lots of good sentiments to use. The dp is some of my fave from Anna Griffin & roses are Prima. Whatcha' think? Now don't forget to hop around the DT blogs to see their ultimately beautiful creations with these stamps--their blogs HERE.

See ya back here tomorrow--
hugz,

Suzanne
