Turkey Day 2010

Thanksgiving was at our house this year... I keep telling Scott that we have outgrown this house, but I've yet to convince him, and when it works out such as it did, then he is even more sure that we are just fine where we are. :/
We had the Heywood, Dixon, Heywood, Barbers and Bowdens over. 21 people in all, with eleven of them being kids!! But in spite of it all the house survived and it went perfect. No burnt rolls, uncooked Turkeys or any other disasters.:)
Then my favorite part of Thanksgiving is our annual Turkey bowl that we do at night. We had so much fun!! Even if the Boys won :(.
It was good to have Josh back home after being gone for the past two years, although he took Skylee to His family dinner.
But I've learned to share, just as long as they are happy, and trust me they are...
It was a good year filled with births, homecomings, new homes, and much more. We have so much to be grateful for. We are very blessed.

Annual Turkey Bowl

The boys challenged the girls and we were beating them the WHOLE time until the last two frames when Scott threw two strikes back to back and then a spare to win!!! Not nice :(

Kiddles: we have just about out grown the coach :)

He's BACK!!!!!!

So when my son when on his misson I thought 2 years, 24 months, 730 days, 52 weeks, 17,520 hours ( you get the point ) would never come to an end. Well it is almost as hard watching your child go through it! There were days I didnt think she or myself would last. Her because she missed him and me because I was going to kill her if she didn't quit being onry :) But she made it, as did I ,and so my peeps reading this with young men preparing to go on a mission you will too!! And they come home AMAZING!! Josh is normal...Better than he left...And spiritually in tune.
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant"...And welcome home!
And Sky, I'm so proud to call you my daughter, you remained true and faithful yourself. Holding fast to your beliefs. I love you both :)

pretty normal bunch??

Back where he belongs

FINALLY!!!

Airport wars. Who will he hug first?? (and the winner is...Grandma :) )

Yeah!!! The End

A Hauntingly Happy Halloween

When I was a little girl (last week) I HATED Halloween. I could not figure what was so fun about blood, gore and death...It really was a day I dreaded. Then when my mother passed away during the season it just made the day worse for me. Well there is a reason why babies come to us. This year I totally enjoyed Halloween, all because all these new little ones had so much fun! Even Jex that "was not" going to be in a costume that did not involve some kind of blood!! We really had fun! and I wasn't all that creeped out.... Well, sort of ;)

Crew didn't feel very good, So he spent the night being the "doorman" Here he is yelling at Zoe to get back in the house.

Co baby was a U of U ball player. He also came with some exciting treats...Stay tuned...:)

The boys were Jack Sparrow and Edward :)

Skylee was Avatar. Here she is with Josh's little brother. Apparently blue girls do not intimidate him :)

And here is my little Bean at his pumpkin patch

Two weeks to the date :/

Skylee and Josh going to do baptisms for the dead the week before he left.

Well the countdown is on and it's two weeks until Josh returns.
Sky is busy getting her nails done, she has hair appointments, lash appointments, has been tanning, went and got her teeth cleaned etc., etc., what a whilwind it has been around here. It is fun to see her so excited, I honestly haven't seen this excited in two years!! She has dated and done a lot while he has been gone, but nothing matches the excitement that is going on with her right now. She says the Tuesday night before he comes home, she might have her head in the toilet the whole night!! She is nervous as well, she wants everything to be just how she has dreamt it..
I, on the other hand, am a bit nervous myself :/ I look at it from a mother's view and I'm just hoping and praying that two years hasn't changed them both....Actually, I know it has, they are both more mature, appreciate each other much more, and they have been brought much closer by two years of writing and emailing.
I hope and prayer for the best for both of them, and if that means for them to be together, than I guess fairy tales really do come true???

Remembering Momma

One of my favorite memories of my mom was when we went to lunch with her. She always went to the best places, Rainbow Gardens, The Tifffany room, Kim Wah and many others. My mom thought if you were going to spend money on food, it should be good food! None of this fast food stuff for her. Sometimes it was hard because these restaurants weren't in my budget, But most of the time she picked up the bill. That made it even nicer!!
On Monday My mom hit the 11 year year mark that she left us. Wow!! Hard to believe it has been that long. Especially because at times I can still hear her voice and smell her perfume. I feel like she is with me at times. But She really is gone :(
One of the things I love the most about my neice, Mindi, is she refuses to let us as a family fall apart. She wants it to be like when we were young, which as the families grow larger and we get more kids and obligations is at times impossible, but she continues to try.
On Sunday night she sent a text that we should all go to lunch. Most all of us ended up going. Some even showed up wearing purple, Mom's favorite color. And it was fun. Real fun.
Times change, people leave, but memories are forever... I love you Mom and miss you terribly, but I know you are always with us.

Farming once again :)

We went to Black Island farms on Wednesday for Jexs field trip. It was so much fun :) they took us out to the middle of a field on a wagon and the boys were able to pick their own pumpkins. then they could ride rides and there were bounce houses, animals to feed, slides, everything to keep boys entertained for FOUR hours we stayed longer than anyone else in his school :) What a fun day to remember. I feel bad Tyce has not been with us He has been in school both times, and I look forward to when little Cohen can join in the fun.

Old McDonald had a farm...

On on that farm he had some Horses...

And some pigs...

And some goats...

We went to the Barnyard Buddies last week and the boys had a ball... They rode horses, played with the goats and all the other animals. It was a fun time for all :)

Elder Cypers Update

Well we haven't updated anyone on The Elder lately so I thought I better do that. Josh has less the 90 days until he returns home, Skylee was leaving last night and She said, " twelve more friday nights!!" ha ha Apparently they have not been fun lately. Josh is doing amazing and is trying to stay focused and finish strong, He says in his last letter he wishes he could put into words how amazing the experiences he has had have been. He loves the mission field.
The Smith family ( Josh's moms family) had Skylee over for a family dinner last Thursday, she said it felt so good to be with the family. We wish Josh continued success.
Josh and Skylee... Any resemblance is purely coincidental :)... Skylee and Justin ( Josh's little Brother)

Josh ran into a rattler :/
