My Teeny Tiny One!

In a family where the kids are huge, it is hard to stand tall. Especially if you are the tiny one. When big sister is nearly 2 feet taller and little brother is only two inches shorter, life in the middle can seem daunting. But the only thing small about Madison is her stature. She is quite a giant in many other and much more important things.

She is a giant in personality. If she is happy she is jubilant. If she is sad she is utterly dejected. If she is mad she is illogically psychotic. If you are her friend she is devoted. If you are her enemy she is unforgiving. If she plays sports she is super competitive. If she is in your service she is borderline philanthropic. If she is quiet she nearly disappears. If she wants to tease you she will do it without limitations. If she wants to make the home a better place it only takes her good mood to set the tone for the rest. If it is misery she wants we all must suffer her raging storms.

All in all Madison has been my easiest baby to raise. And a delight to watch in action. She makes a daddy's heart proud and a mommy's heart beam with happiness. She has been a joy in our family and I find these 9 years with her one my greatest blessings from God.

My sweet Madison is tiny by nature but giant in life. Happy Birthday my sweet girl, I am excited to see what you can do with the next 9 years of your monumental life.

(Another "giant" moment for Madison, if you are going to have to have braces why not make it worth the money!) Love those crooked teeth of yours baby! Keep smiling always!

My Little Super Hero

So these last two weeks are the busiest weeks of the year for me. With 3 birthdays in the mix, it is all about fun for the kids and a huge creative outlet for mom, with a tinge of stress included!

Carson's birthday party was a blast. I searched online and found this wonderful birthday website with loads of ideas. It was here where I gathered a few together and came up with the best superhero birthday party of all time, (said with a tinge of humility!)

First off, I sent out an invitation that was set up like a comic strip. Calling all superheroes to meet at headquarters for superhero training. "We need to unite to defend our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of a happy birthday. There is an evil villian who is out to destroy all birthday parties and we superheroes need to defeat him."

So when they arrived we put them through an obstacle course which was basically the local park. It was made to believe that the kids were being put through a training course to see if they were "superhero worthy."

Here is Carson's superheroness in action. What a stud!

Upon completion they received their honorary superhero masks. As we were putting them on the infamous villain creeped up on them. (This is our awesome friend Rudy, who seriously made this entire party the best party of all time, if it wasn't for him it wouldn't have been nearly as fun. You rock Rudy!)
In his bag were the birthday bombs (Black balloons). First he whipped out an evil villain speech. I love this picture of the kids reactions to him. They were so excited. They had no idea there was going to be an actual evil villain involved.

After he declares to hate all birthdays he pours out the birthday bombs which the kids have to use their superhero strength to pop them.

After they foiled his plan he jumps up and claims to know the weakness of all superheroes is kryptonite. Which he happens to have! (Rocks spray painted green)

He lays them all out and disappears. In order to rid the birthday of the kryptonite they can't touch it. So they lined up in two rows and with tongs had to race to the kryptonite, pick it up with the tongs, and put it in the bucket.

Upon completion of that awful tasks and nearly close call; they received their superhero wrist bands. Proving yet again to be just as super as we thought they would be. Realizing that the evil villain has disappeared they set out to find him. Once spotted they all chased him around using their web blasters (silly string) to finally defeat the evil one.

Once he was defeated the evil villian was miraculously turned into the happiest birthday lover of all time. And with this they each earned their final badge of the famous superhero cape. So all in all it was a success and my little superhero was able to fulfill all his superhero dreams of fighting of the bad guy and good conquering over evil. Thanks again, Rudy for being the most amazing sport of all time. And although Carson is my favorite superhero you are by far my favorite evil villain!
