Quotes

Again our quotes are taken over by the twins, but enjoy anyway.

After a rainy day, the twins looked out the window.
Kylie: Waining, Waining, Waining, Waining, (Raining)
Brynn: Was it raining?
Kylie: Yea, not anymore, it HOT!

Nate: (Picks up a leaf) This smells like a Cheeto.
On the way home from church the kids were fighting.
Kylie (turning around in her car seat): Be nice kids!

Kylie : I NEED the TV!

Mom: Dang it Kylie!
Aubree: Dang it Kylie!

After the girls found a dead snake:
Brynn: Kylie, what did Kaitlyn and Brynn find?
Kylie: Snake. Bit my fingers and my head.
Later:
Kylie: Snake scared me little bit!
(I assure you the dead snake did not even touch Kylie)

Aubree: Mommy like when you pee in the potty. Not on the carpet. Kylie pee on the carpet.

The kids were chasing the twins around the house and Kylie suddenly collapsed on the floor. She looked up at us and said, "I died."

Kaitlyn: Um, Kylie can you go get me a drink of water?
Kylie: No, I can't.
Kaitlyn: Why?
Kylie: Becus (because) my back hurts.

Kylie: Uh mom, can we watch a show? How bout ummmm Caillou!? (The twins' new interest in Caillou keeps them quiet but their older siblings have a hard time watching the show)

Brynn walked into the T.V. room where Aubree had fallen asleep.
Kylie: Binn, don't wake up my sister - she's sleepin!!!

Ellie: I wish I was the age that I was really cute.

Nate has had a hard time eating his fruits and vegetables. Jared included his "help" one night by saying, "Ya, Nate, if you don't eat that you'll get scurvy!"

One day Mom went walking by Nathan and his friends and heard them whispering and acting very guilty. Thinking they were talking about something bad she asked them what they were talking about.
Scott: Well, I was just saying that I have a BIG crush on Sadie.
Keian: Ya, and I really like Sydney
Mom: Well, who do you like Nate?
Nate: I don't know
Scott: Don't worry Nate, you'll find someone.

Dad: We could be going to swim meets for twelve more years

Kaitlyn: Aubree, in four years I'm going to college.
Aubree: If you go to college, I go to college.

Mom: What did you do at nursery?
Aubree: Um....have FUN!

Summer

Here are some updates on our summer!

Swim Team and Water Polo
Ellie, Jared, Brynn, and Kaitlyn have been doing Eisenhower swim team this summer. We were out of town for most of the meets and didn't practice much, but the kids still did great at our district and city swim meet. At city their team took first place! For 13 years another team has been winning first, but they broke that! Jared and Brynn decided to try water polo as well as swimming this year. Their championship was a few weeks ago and they took 5th place.

Children's Music Theater

All of the kids except for the twins did CMT this year. The theme was "Proud to be an American" and the kids sang and danced to patriotic songs. They had so much fun!

"A Tribute to the Armed Forces"

Utah
We drove up to Southern Utah on Thursday night. The drive was definitely not easy, especially with two little girls who scream when they don't get their way, but we made it. We slept the night in a little cabin that was a few minutes away from the Esplin Ranch.

"Memory Meadow" in Honor of Roland and Vilate Espin

In the morning we drove up there where we saw some of our cousins who had stayed the night in tents. It was so nice to see family after such a long time, and everyone was able to make it up there. The kids LOVED four-wheeling, riding the side-by-side, shooting BB guns, riding horses, and playing with cousins. The older cousins even slept in a fort they made out of logs! They had quite the night.

Riding in the side-by-side

The boys loved shooting with the BB Guns!

We loved singing by the campfire every night!

After our reunion we drove to Saratoga Springs to see our other family. The twins were spoiled by both families and loved all the attention. We got to see Great-Grandma and Grandpa Porter and Great-Grandma Asay. For one of the meals we thought it would be easier to dress up as cows and get free Chick-Fil-A food than making dinner, so we did! It was so much fun and we got our food pretty fast. We also visited our uncle and surprised our aunt with a birthday cupcake at BYU, fed some ducks, and visited all of our cousins houses, but we didn't get pictures of that. The whole trip was so much fun!

Ellie's Baptism
Ellie turned 8 so she was able to get baptized on June 6th! Grandma and Grandpa Porter and Caleb got to come to her baptism. Caleb had only gotten home from his mission a few days before but was glad to come. Ellie was able to invite some of her friends to her baptism and they came! It was such a neat experience for her. After her baptism we went and ate at Golden Corral. We were so glad some family could come out for her baptism and we loved the company!

The twins LOVED having Caleb here

They all ended up asleep on that couch

Quotes

(Mostly the Twins)

Kylie: We had the heater on in the car one day and Kylie said, "Ooh! Soopa hot!"

Nate: UGH! Mom, my wrist on my foot hurts!
Mom: You mean your ankle.
Nate: Uh no, I mean my wrist on my foot!

Kylie: Ow mom, my knuckles hurt. (She was talking about her elbow)

Nate: Oh! Look mom! It's a hot wheels car!
Kylie: Hot wheels!
Bree: Hot dog!

(7:00pm)
Aubree: Befest! Befest!
(Breakfast/Cereal before bed)

(And, when the twins are tired we get some attitude from them)

 "No! Go way!"

"Stop! I no like that!"

"You being mean!"

(After we re-did our kitchen) Ellie: I feel RICH!

Kylie saw Aubree do something bad and said, "Aubee why you do that?"

Aubree: Nogurt peas! (yogurt please)

Aubree saw the cover of the movie Tangled, pointed to Flynn and said, "Look mom! Joe! Joe!" She was referring to our Uncle Joe (who we haven't seen since Thanksgiving).

Kylie: I want water out of freezer. (ice)

When Aubree prays she starts and then we help her. One time we were repeated something she had already said, so in the middle of the prayer she yelled, "I already said that!" and giggled the rest of the way through the prayer.

Period 3

Kylie: I pee in the tree!
(um...no)

(In the car) Aubree: I SO cute!
Kylie: Yes you are!

 (8 inches of snow)
Jared: It's a blizzard!

Kaitlyn: I got pot pie with the chicken on the side.
(Kaitlyn went to a French restaurant with a friend and they ordered chicken pot pie. When their waiter brought it to them he brought them the pot pie and a plate of chicken. They had to put the chicken in themselves, so now they always say this.)

It was SO FUN living through a renovation with no sink, tile and oven/stove;) BUT, we survived!

Finally got our microwave out of our backroom, and into our kitchen!

We're missing a drawer in this picture. We have it now:)

Joe, Andrea and Grandma/pa came to visit us during Thanksgiving break and helped redo our fireplace and helped us make a new mantel! It looks so much better (but we don't know how to decorate it.) Thanks guys!

Before: (This is the picture from the listing since we didn't take any. You can see how the fireplace was before.)

After: (not the best pictures)

We will post some more pictures once our house is done.

General Conference 2014 (update)

We were able to go down to General Conference this October to see our grandma speak! It was so great, and we had such a fun time with all of our cousins. We stayed up way later than we should have and all the kids were tired and sad when we had to leave. The younger kids stayed with Joe and Andrea's family and had a great time with them while everyone else was at the Conference Center. Before Conference started we had some time so we walked around temple square and got some pictures.

Grandma did an amazing job on her talk. We were all so proud of her.

After we took all of our pictures we went to have lunch at the church office building. The food was amazing, and we had such a fun time talking with everyone there!

While we were there we celebrated our cousin Soren's birthday and Grandma's birthday (which were on the same day--the day before conference). Soren had a football piñata filled with candy that the kids loved! Kylie and Bree especially liked the piñata!

The best picture we had of some grandkids with grandma and her cake. (It was during the priesthood session so some of the boys weren't there.)

We had so much fun visiting everyone and were glad we got to go up there because we didn't go up around Christmas. We all can't wait until the summer when we get to see everyone again!

Birthday Catch-Up's

We have a lot of birthday catching up to do!
We have a new tradition of making everyone a candy poster for their birthday. If you can read them they're all really cute.

BRYNN is officially 11 now! (As of 10 months ago) For her birthday she had a party with some of her friends. They did a craft, ate pizza, decorated cupcakes, and watched a movie.

Brynn's school treat
(Brynn has other pictures, but at this point she is almost twelve so I am not going to go find them)

JARED also had a birthday! He turned 9. This year he didn't have a birthday party, but instead had a family birthday. He got a pogo stick and is already very good at it.

ELLIE had a birthday too! She is now 7 years old! It was also her turn for a family birthday. She got some sunglasses, shoes, model magic, and pink goggles.

KAITLYN also had a birthday! She turned 13 on June 3-so now we officially have a teenager! Her birthday was the first day of Girls Camp, and it was amazing!

DAD also had a birthday! His age is undetermined.

MOM also had a birthday! Her age is also unknown.

NATHAN is having a birthday in a few weeks. He will be turning five, I'll (hopefully) post about that.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE!
