Six month check-up

These check-ups are never fun. Especially when your baby is teething and already grumpy. Every mother hates when her baby has to get shots.. Worst thing ever! Her stats say she is in the 50th percentile for weight, 60th for height and 70th for head. Weird cause everyone always says how small her head is. I kind of wonder if they got it wrong? Anyways, she is just shy of 16 LBS. My girl is getting big! Too fast.

Before we went she was happily chewing on her caterpillar..

:(

Twins are home at last!

The tiwns are finally home! After weeks of being in the NICU they are finally home for good. We were actually a little surprised at how soon they allowed them to come home. They did pretty well considering how early they were. Thea and James are strong little ones!
Just a couple weeks ago we were actually allowed to go in and see them up close. Here are a few pics of that. They were getting bathed while we were there.

We are so happy to have them in the family and are anxious to get more acquainted with these sweet new babes.

Summer Fest

In Orem every year they have a Summer Fest parade and carnival. I went a couple times before I got married, it's really fun. The Peterson's usually go every year. We went to the Parade with Kev, Brig, Michelle and Kim. Some of the floats were really big and elaborate. Too bad it didn't feel summery at all that day. It was freezing!

Twin Cousins

Scarlett has a lot of great little pals her age. But I have a feeling she will grow up to be bestest buddies with her cousin Paisley. Pais is just a month older than Scarlett so it's a blast to watch them interact with each other. Sometimes they both roll to their side so they are facing each other, and just grab at the others face. It's pretty funny until one of them pinches the other a little too hard ;). We joke that Paisley is the sweet even tempered one (like her mama) and Scarlett is the little feisty one (sound familiar?). I think they'll both be very sweet though, Scarlett just likes to talk a lot (also sort of familiar).
Growing up my sisters and I all had "twin cousins". Now this didn't mean that we necessarily looked a like, it was really just the "best friend" cousin. The cousin that we hung out with the most. Mimi was of course my "twin cousin". She and I were (and are) best of friends. We did everything together from playing detective Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, to sharing teenage secrets. Although, it did take Mimi FOREVER to admit that she liked a boy ;). Christiana's "twin cousin" was Melissa (Mimi's older sister). They were inseparable as well. We lived about three hours away from each other, but our parents made a huge effort for us to see our "twin cousins" often. Christiana and I both plan to always make that effort as well. Even if we end up living further apart than we do now (let's hope that never happens!!). I really hope Pais and Scar grow up to be best friends and "twin cousins".

Memorial Day

Memorial day was a few weeks ago. Mercedes was still in town and my mom and dad came up too. I convinced Scott into getting a BBQ so we could throw a little shin dig. It was a good time. We ate lots of yummy food, played volleyball and enjoyed the good company. Memorial day is so much more than a day for BBQ's though, I would feel a lack of gratitude not mentioning how thankful I am for all of the soldiers that have died for our country and our freedom. Thank you soldiers! My mom and dad put flowers on our grandpa's grave.

Here are pics from that day. I wish we got more with everyone who was there!
