Funky Inks Blog Hop!

Hop hop hop Good Morning!!! Yes today is the day.......the Funky Hand and Tiddly Inks Blog hop woop woop!!

Yes today the gorgeous Anice from Funky Hand and us Funkettes have come together with the fabby Christy from Tiddly Inks and the super talented design team girlies to give you a fantastic blog hop.  You should have come to me from the lovely Alyce and if you didn't then please check out the blog hop order below to make sure you don't miss anyone.

I have been a Funkette for a couple of years now and I have to say I still love it as much now as I did when I first started, in fact even more lol.  I love Anice's gorgeous papers, and best of all as they are digi papers they are so different and you're not left with papers you'll never use.....bonus for us space-conscious girlies!  And living where craft shops are as rare as hen's teeth I do most of my craft shopping online and with digi downloads there is that instant gratification that is so fabulous lol.  Like many I was wary of digi stamps to start with, but now I just love them, I love how you can make them any size you want without losing any quality.

SO now here is my card made specially for the blog hop made with Roboto image from Tiddly Inks which also comes with a digi paper of the balloons, I used it to decorate the inside of the card, but I forgot to take a pic (oops).  The stripy paper is from the Rainbow Stripey Stripes download from Funky Hand.  I coloured wee Roboto with 2 shades of grey Promarkers.  My sentiment was printed on the pc.  It's a kinda simple card, but anyone who has visited my blog before will know I like simple!

So now you need to hop onto the gorgeous Dilyana's blog. Make sure you leave a comment on all the blogs to make sure we know you have hopped everywhere (we'll be checking lol) and you will have the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend at Funky Hand or $20 to spend at Tiddly Inks.......what more could you want?

Here's the blog hop order in case you've got a wee bit lost :)

Enjoy the hoppy hop :)

Christmas is all about the kids

It's my turn to host the challenge over at Get Funky today :)  As usualy I struggled to come up with a theme, but seeing as most of us will have at least started on the C word preparations I decided to go with

Christmas is all about the kids

You can enter as many times as you like and can combine with as many challenges as you like.  AND you get the chance to win the Funky Hand download of you choice.  Simples as the wee meerkat says :)

As always our one and only rule at Get Funky is that you need to use at least item from Funky Hand on your creation.  There are loads of scrummy craft cds and downloads available on the Funky Hand website.  Especially the new O Come All Ye Crafters downloads.

For those who are new to Funky Hand and don't have any Funky Hand stash there is a Funky Freebie backing paper available on the website www.funkyhand.com.  :)
My card for this month was made using the  Santa Baby download.  The image is from the 12 Crafters Crafting cd.  The topper of the card detaches to become a Christmas Tree decoration.

I do hope you will come and join in with the Get Funky fun this month.

Wordbooks!!

This month over at Get Funky the fabby dabby Lou has set the challenge of

WordBooks

I have made this one for a friend to give at a wedding.  I have used the easy peasy lemon squeezy wordbook tab on the Wishes and Kisses cd and the paper collection is Hello Baby.  For me the fact that you can personalise them so much is why I love wordbooks - you could have mr&mr or mrs&mrs if you need to, I bet those kinds of cards are hard to find!

For those who don't have any of the Funky Hand cds or downloads Anice has made a fantastic Funky Freebie so you can still join in.  This month it is a set of letters so you can cut them out and add them to strips of card to make a wordbook.......simples.

As always the prize is the download of your choice, maybe if you've caught the Wordbook bug you can download one of the gorgeous wordbook downloads, there are plenty to choose from and even some Christmas ones (I know I know I'm sorry!!)

Please remember our 1 rule is to use a Funky Hand item on your wordbook

Anything Goes at Funky Hand

Ok I have been a rrrrreeeeaaaaalllllyyyy bad blogger haven't I?  I need a slapped hand.........  With it being the school holidays every spare minute apart from working was spent with the kids trying to dodge the showers and find some fun stuff to do.  Luckily Lily went back to school last week so hopefully normal service should be resumed soon lol
This month at Get Funky the lovely lou has set an easy peasy lemon squeezy theme of "Anything Goes Using Funky Hand"  How simple is that? Anything you can think of so long as it uses a Funky Hand item on it!! And if you haven't got any Funky Hand stash then Anice has made a lush freebie paper click here to download it.

My card was made with the gorgeous jaquard paper from the Wishes and Kisses cd rom. The image is also on the cd.  This has to be my favourite paper on the cd and wow it looks lush in all the different colours, there's one perfect for any occassion.  I love the cream lace I used on this card, in fact as I have very little left you might never see it again......I am scared to finish it lol

Please remember we only have one rule at get Funky ~ to use at least one Funky Hand item on your make.  The prize is the download of your choice, and as you know there are loads to choose from!

Go to the Get Funky page and click on the blue froggy to enter your creation, or if you don't have a blog why not enter through the Funky Hand facebook page  Just like I said........easy peasy lemon squeezy

The big 60!!

The lovely Jackie is in the hot seat this month over and Get Funky and she has set you a challenge of "Just a number"  Basically there must be a number on it, text is ok but images are banned this month!!

For my sample I have made a wodbook for my step dad's big birthday in a few weeks.  It will actually be his birthday card so not exactly a wordbook.  He is a huge Dunfermline Athletic fan so I just had to use the team colours and they just happen to be a combo I love.  I used the Wishes and Kisses cd and the fab wordbook maker that is just so simple to use :o)

As always the only rule at Get Funky is to use a Funky Hand product on your creation.  We don't mind what you make, how many challenges you enter with it and what else you use on the item, but if there's not a Funky Hand paper or image on it then you won't be entered into the prize draw for the Download of your choice from the Funky Hand website (and there is a new scrummy download coming soon so you really don't want to miss that!)  To make this open to all Anice provides a free paper every month especially with the challenge in mind and it is available to download here
Can't wait to see what you make for this month's challege :o)

sketchy love at Get Funky

Anice has made a fabby dabby sketch for us this month at Get Funky  I do love a good sketch, card just seem to make themselves when you have a really good sketch to follow :o)

I used the new Wishes and Kisses cd for the papers and images on my card, it really is a fantastic cd, something for everything on there!!  The hearts have some glossy accents on to make them stand out a wee bit, the ribbon and flowers are from stash as are the heart gems.

Don't where the time has gone this last few weeks, there seems to have been no time for crafting or blogging :(  Thats work for you eh? Back later with some more bits from the new cd :)

"Polkadots and Flowers"

I have made a new home card for some friends who have just moved.  The paper is from the Craft the Year Away cd, the template for the easel card is from 12 crafters crafting and the image is a wee sneaky peek from the new Funky Hand cd coming out later this month.......sshhhh don't tell the boss I showed you though ok?

a wee fairy

We had a 2nd birthday party to go to today (who says I don't have a social life? LOL)  One of Alfie's little friends from toddler group, Jessica.  I made this card with Lili of the Valley die cut fairy, I used 2 to layer them up, and put extra pads under the wings so they stand out even more, not that the picture shows it that well.  I also used my beloved Martha Stewart punch, some flowers and pearls from stash and a wee flutterby charm.  The sentiment is also Lili of the Valley.

Creative Card Crew ~ ribbon
Papertake Weekly ~ anything goes
Simon Says ~ birthday
Willow Sketchie ~ sketch

Simply Sentimental

Morning from a quite sunny Scotland!!  I know I know I am making all of you with rain a bit sick, but lets face it how often do we Scots get to say its sunnier here than in the South?  So I am gonna enjoy it lol

Over at Get Funky the theme this month is "Get Sentimental".  Debs wants the sentiment to take centre stage on your creation so Anice has made a great freebie with a few different sentiments, perfect for all occassions.

I have to admit this was in fact a challenge for me!  I am so used to having my image and papers all picked out before I start my card.  So I decided to keep it simple and I used the funky freebie (available here).  Both the sentiment and the stripy paper are on the freebie.

Only one rule at Get Funky and its quite simple really, you need to use at least one Funky Hand item on your creation.  We don't mind what you make or how many challenges you enter, so long as there is a Funky Hand product on it you're in with a chance to win the download of youer choice.
We are also accepting entries via the facebook page, especially handy for those not addicted to blogging, so if you know someone who would like to enter but doesn't blog then please tell them to visit the facebook page and get entered :o)

pink and brown

Ugh who else is sick of this rain?  I am sooo sick of it, the kids are sick of not getting out to play and hubby is sick of it cos its making the grass grow so quick lol.  Hey ho, nothing we can do about it tho hey?

I made this card for a friend to give to her sister on her 18th birthday soon.  I wanted it to be a bit girlie without being overly frilly and babyish.  Thought the pink and brown would be girlie in a  grown up kinda way lol.

yellow.......not my usual choice lol

Now yellow is not my usual colour choice but I threw caution to the wind and decided to just go for it!! My customer doesn't like it, and if I am honest I wasn't sure she would which I know makes no sense at all but you know how it goes, sometimes our cards just don't turn out how we pictured them in our heads, but you have to go with it any way lol.

Get Funky and January Blues

Aarrgghhhh where has January gone? C'mon which one of you naughty crafters has half inched it?? How can it be February already?

This month over at Get Funky the fabulous Lou has set this months challenge of "January Blues" I have to say that for once January hasn't been blue for me :o) Not only have we not had the huuuge snowfalls we were used to in the Highlands but I also started work in the 2nd week so this months has been nice and busy and full of fun times getting to know colleagues and the job. I am missing my Alfie time but on the other hand I am also enjoying my Amanda time, where I am just me and not just a mum!

Anyway now I have rambled on and sent you to sleep........back to the challenge lol The freebie for this month is available here and it is another lovely paper from Anice, perfect for any occassion.

For my card I had a bit of a play around with the Papercraft Factory cds. Part of what I love about the Funky Hand cds that are Papercraft Factory is the ability to mix and match between them. For my easel cards I used the paper, writer and image from the Birthday Boy collection on Happy Happy Birthday and the template from the 12 Crafters Crafting cd. I printed the paper out as a full page on one side then the template on the other side, this way when you fold over the easel part the paper is double sided and as you can see from my picture the stripes match up!

Hope to see you over at Get Funky :o)

Challenges:

Dutch Dare Card Challenges ~ buttons galore

Crafty Boots ~ song title inspiration (Paranoid Androind by Radiohead)

My time to craft ~ A is for adorable (I think this wee bot is pretty darned adorable lol)

recycled box

I found this box a couple of weeks ago hanging around on the top shelf of the cupboard (you know the one your hubby puts the choccies on cos you can't reach it lol) and shockingly it still had a couple of choccies left in it left over from Christmas.......well it would be rude to leave them there, they might go off or anything lol
When I saw the Steam Funk download from Funky Hand I just knew it would suit the shape of the box. So I used the clock paper to cover it then added a trim of some lace round the rim of the box, the flower is made with layers of circles scrumched up and battered about a bit (broke my heart doing that I can tell you lol) The pearls and the pins were from my stash box. I almost used it last week as a gift box but I just couldn't part with it!! I am thinking it might look nice on my dressing table for earrings or something :o)

Challenges:
Paper Play ~ Lovely Lace
Moving along with the times ~ bloomin marvellous
Cupcake Craft ~ recycle

So I empied it and decided it would be good for decorating :o)

Funky Hand Blog Hop

Welcome to the second Funky Hand Blog Hop!!! This weekend Funky Hand is releasing not one but TWO gorgeous downloads that I just KNOW you are going to LOVE. You should have arrived at my wee corner of blogland from the fabulous Jenny's blog, if not or you've got a wee bit lost just head on back to Anice's blog and the order will be there as well as the details of how to join in with the blog hop :o) You will need to leave me a wee messsage before you hop on over to the gorgeous Jackie.

The letter you are picking up from me is D

The first download is called Funky Kraft Stash, and that all important K should give you a clue to what its all about!! Yup the papers are all scrummy shades of Kraft :o) they are just irresistable.

My card for the hop is made using this download. I used two of the papers. The base layer and the hearts are all handstitched (it felt like a good idea when I had it lol but is took ages!!) A scrap of ribbon from my stash and two pins also from stash were added just to finish it off.

The second is one that I am sure is going to be snapped up, its called Steam Funk so I know you will all love it. Funky cogs and clocks and other such scrummy stuff :o)

Once you have hopped round us all and picked up all the letters, head back to Anice's blog and leave a comment with the word you think the letters make. Answers have to be in my midnight on Sunday 15th January. The winner will receive both downloads for free!

Hope you enjoy the hop and have fun seeing all my funky buddies creations.

My card was made using the fabulous funky freebie paper that Anice made for the challenge, it's really a lovely paper to work with, aren't the colours just so lush? The freebie paper is available to download
here. The letters were simply cut out and matted onto some white card, and layered with candy pink card and the paper. I've used a pre-cut scalloped card and added just a scrap of ric rac and a cutie bag charm.

I started my new job on Monday and have had to schedule this post as I will be at work all day :o) I had a really good day on Monday, lots and lots to learn but I am looking forward to it :o)

been a looooong time!!

Oooops I don't know where the time went since I last posted!!! My mojo went for a wee holiday then Christmas and the ensuing madness came along and I just didn't seem to have a moment to do anything!! So my New Years Resolution is to blog more and fine time to craft. I am starting a job on Monday, just part time 3 days a week, but I am hoping the time out the house and the adult conversation will get me out of the rut I had got into. I wasn't doing any crafting even though I was doing very little in the evenings.

So here is my first card of 2012 :o) I had a great time making it too, really enjoyed myself.
