Papertake Weekly

Had a baby card to make for one of Lily's classroom assisstants who had a girl last week.I used the sketch by Dawny P for this weeks challenge at Papertake Weekly. I enjoyed this sketch, papers are from Funky Hand (doodlementals I think), gem, flower, ribbons all from stash and stamps by Studio G I think (not doing well today eh lol)

How fast is that????

I am in shock lol I ordered 3 stamps yesterday from Lili of the Valley they have an offer on of 3 stamps for £10 and free postage................well who could resist that? heehee. I ordered them yesterday afternoon and they arrived this morning!!! WOW O WOW!!! They are lovely and I can't wait to have a play but it will have to wait til Monday as Ian and I are away for the weekend..................2 nights without Lily (OMG only the second time in 5 years!) I am sure we will be able to think of something to do without her lmao

Have a good weekend all :)

explosion box

I have seen these types of boxes around for ages but this is the first time I have attempted one! I needed a little box for the engraved silver dummy we are giving to my friend's little girl for her Christening on Sunday. The Forever Friends images were all sourced on Google and printed out onto cheap copy paper. The checked paper is a 12x12 sheet of scrapbook paper I have had since forever, I forgot all about it. All embellies are from my stash :) I had a lovely time fiddling about with this and I think the childminding kids can make these for mums and dads for Xmas, it should keep them quiet for a while lmao

card order

every year my mum asks me to make cards to give to her work colleagues. these are the two designs for this year. I got them all done today (sounds like I was chained to the desk but there were only 6 of each lol) so they are ready to take down this weekend :)
I ended up not putting the beads on the tree cards and I also heat embossed the angel and greeting as the silver ink didn't stand out enough for my liking (these pics are the samples I did to email to mum). Both stamps are on loan from a friend so don't know where they are from, the red raffia is from tesco, the giftwrap section :)

hurrahhhhh

ooooohhhh I can't wait til Christmas now...................I decided this year rather than drop hints with Ian as to what I want and end up getting something that is totally different I would tell him exactly what I wanted and it has worked!!!!! I told him I wanted a cuttlebug and he told me no problem, but I didn't expect to get one lol. He said to me the other night to go ahead and order it and a couple of folders to get me started so I have done it and it is winging its way to me as I type yeeehaaaah lol Sadly he said I can't have it til Christmas Scrooge that he is, but just think of all the playing I will be able to do after Christmas Day :) its all exciting stuff lmao

it is day 16 over at bootiful stampz, not many days left so make sure you get over there lol

Bored yet???? lol

honest it's the last one lol

This is my DT card for Just Christmas and Birthday Cards my turn to do a Christmas card this week. Another of the Lily stamps, papers are from Funky Hand, "Salt and Pepper" download. I LOVE these papers, they are just so funky lol

I will try and get a birthday card done later in the week :)

Close up of the snow and trim of Lily's coat, I have embossed it with white powder after colouring it with my embossing pen, I like the effect of it......expect to see more of it lol

Almost there!!!

The theme at Cute Card Thursday is Snow and Snowflakes so I decided to use this cute snowman stamp that a friend has leant me. I followed the sketch I used earlier as I like it's simplicity. Backing paper was a gift from a friend so not sure where it's from but I do like it, I have added a few wee gems to make it a bit "blingier" lol

macbeth has finally been inked up :)

The theme at Lili of the Valley is "Our four legged friends" and the sketch is from Sketch Saturday so I made this card, one for the ever empty boys card box lol

This was the first time I had inked up the fabulous Macbeth stamp that I won on kath's blog, isn't he just cute!! Coloured with watercolour pencils. Scalloped circle stamp is by Stamps Away.

next up

Ok I chickened out of actually posting all the cards in one post...................

Next up is the card for 2 sketches 4 u and Papertake Weekly The backing paper is from funky fairy and the stamps are the new Lily and Billy ones from Pink Cat studio that arrived earlier in the week, they were great to play with :)

I wanted to emphasise the snow and the fur trim on Lily's coat so used my emboss pen and white embossing powder, I am quite pleased with how it has turned out :)

lots of work!!

Ok this post could be long.................get a coffee and get comfy I made a load of cards this afternoon and they cover quite a few challenges :)

This one is for my friends little girl who is being christened on Sunday, I won't be there unfortunately but I will be sending this card, the sketch is from Friday Sketchers and the theme at A Spoon Full of Sugar is "Blooming Marvellous", this is the first time using my new prima flowers that arrived this week (YAY) Could not find a more suitable sentiment so ended up using the peel off.

Hopefully I will get round to doing some cards with all these new stamps soon :)

the holly and the ivy

All together now........the holly and the ivy when they are all full grown...............

This card is from a pattern by Sue McGuirk. I enjoyed making this card, it is stitched to the card with the red beads :) the sentiment words are traced with silver gel pen so they're not showing up so well in the photo. the blank areas in the circles are done on the grid, you might have to click on the pic to see better

JCBC # 7

Here is the card I have made for this weeks challenge over at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards. This sketch certainly was a challenge for me, I had to chuck away 2 attempts lol. The picture doesn't show it so well but there are embossed lines on the background which are highlighted with pink chalk and a bit of doodling, sadly these rubbish energy saving lights aren't showing them up (grrrr) The oriental flowers are 3d'd slightly and have some glitter on the centres. I will have an attempt at a Christmas card for the sketch tomorrow!

shocking mother!

what a shocking mother I am..............not only did Lily get to watch her new Tinkerbell DVD while I crafted but she also got to watch another DVD!! How bad am I? I did have fun crafting though while she was busy getting square eyes.

I have made three cards and they cover a few challenges :)
First is for the 2 sketches 4 You challenge, Kazan's sketch #13. I wasn't sure what to use for the flourish on this sketch but I found the stitched square when I was looking for something for another card. No idea where the pattern for the stitching came from it has been in the stitching file for ages.

This card is for Lili of the Valley and Secret Crafter, both challenge blogs are new to me this week. It is a sketch at Lili of the Valley and "Cute as a button" theme at Secret Crafter. I had to flip the sketch a wee bit as I made the daft mistake of not checking which way the paper was before I drew and cut the shapes lol (dohhh)

Final card is for Sketch Saturday, the tree and sentiment were cut from an old Xmas card and layered onto grey cardstock, plus some vellum and glittery card that were in the scraps box.
LOL what a productive afternoon :) I am planning on another parchy night tonight if there's nothing decent on the gogglebox, my new parchment raft mag arrived yesterday and there's a pattern I fancy trying.............Xmas of course what else lol

day 6

Day 6 of the fabby Bootiful Stampz daily giveaway...................make sure you get over there to be in with a chance to win a new stamp every day for the rest of the month

PTW/Spoonfull/Tag Ur it

As soon as Lily was in bed last night I decided it was craft time!! Spent the whole night at the table :) I made a card for the Funky Fairy challenge but it is awful and I'm not even going to show it lol. The card above is for the Papertake Weekly challenge, and Dawny's fabby sketch. Image is by Magnolia, paper is from K & Co, brad and flower from my stash, Tilda is coloured with Whispers pens. I wasn't that happy with it last night but I like it better this morning :)

Over at Spoonfull of Sugar the theme is to make a Child's card....heehee my favourite kind lol This card is traced on parchment and coloured with pencils, with a grid worked border. :)

I also made my very first tag for Tag Ur It!, Kath has set the challenge this week to use red and green, I am quite pleased with how it has turned out, I just opened the Xmas stash and delved in lol

Off to check out Sketch Saturday as Lily has a new DVD to watch so I might get an hour to craft ;)

Macbeth has arrived!!!!

I was lucky enough to be picked as the winner of the Macbeth stamp on Kaths blog and he arrived yesterday :) (YAY) Kath had also stamped some images from the other Sugar Nellie stamps and they were in this fabby card. I am looking forward to getting Macbeth inked up and playing with his pals too :) Thankyou Kath I am a happy bunny lol
I decided to have a parchy evening last night and made this bookmark, it will be winging its way to a bloggy pal to give to her nan ;) I had fun making it, it seems ages since I have parched. You might have to click on it to see it better, the light here is pants today :(

I hope you are all remembering the daily blog candy @ Bootiful Stampz, you have t repost every day to enter :)

What a day!

What a rubbish day I have had today!! The kids were all argumentative and naughty and I was constantly telling them off, I wasn't feeling too hot and I have no desire to craft tonight so I am intending to curl up on the sofa with a dvd on the laptop while Ian watches the footie (yeuch!)

Remember to enter yourself in for the daily draw at Bootiful Stampz, there is a stamp blog candy every day for the rest of the month :)

Tuesday, 11 November 2008

Sally @ Bootiful Stampz is giving away a stamp EVERY DAY for the rest of November...........she says she is going mad but I think she is Mrs Santa!! Enter every day before 11pm to be in with a chance. Get your bums over there :)

sketch saturday/daring cardmakers

made this card this afternoon for the challenges at Sketch saturday and Daring cardmakers. I did have fun with the sketch this week. the theme at DCM is "sparkle and bling" the papers are from the salt and pepper download at Funky Hand and I am in love with them lol expect to see them a LOT more in the future :) the santa outfit was on a card I received last Xmas and I thought it looked great against the black and white . there is glitter on the fur and red gems on the strip of paper. the ribbon is from tesco.

cute card thurs/friday sketchers

One card for 2 challenges this week seeing as I a bit behind this week. The theme at Cute Card Thursday is Angels and Fairies, so using the Tilda stamp, I love her little wings. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers. The papers were free in a magazine I bought months and months ago, (I just found them in the drawer lol) The flower was cut from a piece of DP and attached with a brad from the stash.

I am a bit annoyed that the blue stazon ink has bled a bit when I coloured in Tilda, it makes it look a bit smudgy so I am slightly hacked off, but hey ho not much I can do about it!!

Spoonfull of Sugar challenge at the last minute lol

Had decided I would make a card for the Spoonfull of Sugar challenge as I liked the simplicity of the sketch this week. But of course with all the partying etc over the weekend (how sad is it that my 5 year old's birthday party is the most partying I have done in a few years? lol) I never got round to it until tonight, I think I will be scraping in by the skin of my teeth :)

The spotty paper is from Funky Fairy Blue Xmas download and the ribbons are from tesco again, safety pins from my stash and the stamps are Studio G bought from Bubbly Funk
Please excuse the crappy photography, it is my own fault for leaving it so late and having to take a photo at night with these pathetic energy saving bulbs!!

2 DT cards

Busy weekend as it was Lily's 5th birthday yesterday. She had a joint party with my friend's wee boy who was 4 on Wednesday. There were 32 kids there so you can imagine I was a bit frazzled by last night. Phew it's over for another year :)

These two cards are the cards for my DT duties for the new sketch coming out tomorrow. The Christmas one will be shown on the JCBC blog :)

The words don't show up so well on the picture as it was dull outside when I took the picture. The middle piece of the card is actually a gift tag left over from last year. The stars are glittery peel offs stuck onto acetate and stuck onto the card with foam pads to lift them a bit.

The papers on this card are from a magazine which is why they are shiny in the picture, the birthday girl square is also a gift label.............can you see a theme lol the middle of the flower and the leaves have got glitter glue on them but it doesn't really show on the picture (grrr hate these dull winter days)

I had a lovely afternoon making these cards, I enjoyed this sketch :)

2 sketches and Friday Sketchers

Managed a couple of challenge cards last night. The first one is for the sketch challenge over at 2 sketches 4 you The sketch is #12 by Laura and was fun to play with :) The paper is from the vintage floral set by Dovecraft as is the tag and sticky ribbon. ric rac from tesco and brads from stash. Doodles with a sepia glitter gel pen.

The second card is for the challenge at Friday sketchers. The pirate paper is wrapping paper (hence the slight shine on the photo) that I bought to wrap a present the other day. I had originally intended to 3d the pirate but do you think I could find a foam pad in the house? No way no how lol. Sadly we no longer have a craft shop in the village so I couldn't even go and get some today :( I still quite like it as it is though, the string is supposed to look like rope but of course I don't know any knots so just tied a half bow, bit more doodling and a home made life ring and it was done.

new blog

There is a new stamping blog started called Craft Stamper and to celebrate they are giving away a blog candy of the Penny Black 12 days of Xmas stamps (sooo cute) get yourselves over there and join in, you know you want more xmas stamps lol

New baby card

A friend of mine has just had a baby boy, her 5th child (brave woman!!) I made this card for her using this week's sketch from CPS The papers are scraps leftover from a card I made last week, the image is from the stash of stamped images I got from Dawn and the ribbon came from Tesco believe it or not lol
As for my friend I think she would prefer another 12 hours in the day or 4 pairs of extra hands rather than a card, but hey ho, sadly I don't have any extra hours/hands in stock :)

JCBC # 5

Morning!!! Week 5 over at Just Christmas and Birthday cards and time for me to post my two DT cards. This week it is my birthday card that will be shown on the JCBC blog but I will post both cards here :)
The birthday card is made with an image gifted to me by a bloggy friend, Dawn very kindly sent me a load of stamped images with an ATC swap (thanks again hun), papers etc from my scraps box. The Christmas card is made with a sticker I found in my stash, I layered it onto gold mirricard and the vellum behind that Seasons Greetings on it. The poinsettia is made with glittered peel offs stuck onto acetate and cut out and layered.
I hope that you will go to the JCBC blog and join in this week's challenge :)
