Long Week

Its been a long week already! Wife has been working hard. I am proud of how hard she works. Sometimes stressful for me at home but still very proud of her. Work hard play harder!!! Ben had two very good games tonight. His team won both their games at the courthouse. Elizabeth had a great time playing with her friends there as well. She is growing into an amazing young lady. Proud of both of my kids.

Wishing I was Fishing

With work being slow and the economy being the way it is, it is hard not to think about fishing. Man would I be a good retired guy or wealthy guy. Hopefully soon the workload will pickup and I will stop thinking about fishing all the time. One positive we were told we could work (4) 10 hour days a week. So that leaves 3 days to try to get out fishing or spending time with the kids this summer.

Onekama Shakedown Fishing Tournament

Fished the Onekama Shakedown Fishing Tournament last weekend and finished in 9th place. We boated 46 Salmon in 3 days. We did well on the riggers 50-66 down as well as 300 foot copper lines. Best spoons were Copper Blue Dolphin, Goldie Hawn, and Modified Caramel Dolphin.

Manistee County Sportfishing Tournament Champs

I fished a tournament out on Lake Michigan with Dave, Kraig, Alan, and Ken this past weekend and we took 1st place in the amateur division. We caught 12 fish on Saturday and 15 fish on Sunday. We caught mostly steelhead with a few little kings and lake trout thrown in. We fished a temp break around 14 miles out and the steelhead were there. We ran in-line planer boards with various spoons on them. The stinger steelhead stomper was probably our best lure along with the Flintstone green coyote spoon. It was a great tournament to be a part of.
We also fished the ladies tournament on Friday with my wife Gretchen, Jeanne, Stephanie, Nancy, and Jewlee. We took 6th place and had a lot of fun on the water with the girls. They did a great job handling the rods and netting fish. We caught 9 fish that day. I can't wait until the next tournament in July.
