Some Pics for Now

I have definately not been good at updating my blog. Right now I'll just get some pics and scrapbook pages. We've had some great things going on -- Halloween, Kiah's birthday, Thanksgiving, and Micah's birthday. I'll get more pictures once I get them off the camera.

Been Busy!

Well, I've been meaning to post this for a while now. I've been pretty busy. I have started my new job and I'm really enjoying it! It's been three weeks now. I still feel really new. I'm working at Elkhart Dental Center as an assistant. I'm not really a dental assistant. I'm more of the assistant's assistant. I don't have any hands on patient responsiblities yet. I clean the operatories and the lab. I work in the sterilization area and have learned some perio charting. I've sat in for the hygiene assistants a couple of times. I work in the lab too. I make sure that the lab technition has everything he needs. I order supplies and teeth for the lab. I pour up and trim the models and I make bleaching trays. I really am enjoying it. The lab stuff has taken me a bit to learn. I'm just not that artistic with my hands.

Schy is doing great too! He got an A in his first class this summer. He's enjoying these next two. It's been so great to see him with the kids! I miss them so much now that I work full time! Knowing that they can be with him makes me feel a lot better about having to leave.

The kids are just enjoying themselves. They are getting big way too fast! I was enjoying my two weeks of unemployment. I love being at home with them, but it's time to get back to the real world. I hope to get some more recent pics up soon, but these are from a few weeks ago.

Ups and Downs

These past few weeks have been full of ups and downs. Schy had another trip to the hospital. He was only there a few days. They took him off one of his medications and he's feeling much better now. It is so wonderful!!! The kids and I have certainly enjoyed spending time with Dad.
Last week Wal-Mart let me go. I made a mistake cashing a check to the wrong person. It would normally just be a warning, but I had disciplinary action previously for attendance. (That in itself was pretty dumb. I had to miss work when Micah was in the ER twice, I had strep, I had the flu, and my babysitter canceled at the last minute.) Anyway, that would have been a year ago in July and I have only missed one day of work in the past year. If you ask any of my co-worker at Wal-Mart, they'd tell you that I'm one of the most dependable and hard working. But I guess that they did what that had to do. So... now I'm in search of a new job. It's gotten me going. I've put out lots of resumes and applied for many jobs. I just have to pray and have faith that something good will come of it.
Really though, Schy doing so much better has meant the world to our family. It more that makes up for loosing my job. We've had a great time with the kids. We've gone to the park and Schy's taken them on walks. It's just so wonderful I can't say enough.
The kids were having fun with the water table outside.

Family, Anniversary & Mother's Day

Two weeks ago Schy's mom, sister and nephew came to visit. It was so wonderful! We love them so much. On Saturday we went to Shipshewana to see Amish country. It was so much fun. I loved all the little shops and the yummy food. On Monday evening we went to Warren Dunes to have dinner on the beach. There was construction on the road to get to the beach so we had to walk up and down, and up and down the dunes to get there. The kids were really good about it though. Micah had too much fun and took forever! Of course he's Mr. Independent now so I couldn't carry him at all. It was worth it even though it was a bit chilly. The kids loved seeing Grandma Wright, Brittney and Kade. We are so happy that they came!

Mother's Day was very sweet. Kiah and Micah love to give homemade "presents" all the time. I don't know how many of their gifts I got. It always makes me smile. Schy got me some beautiful figures of a mother and children. They fit perfectly for Kiah and Micah. I love them! I had to stay home from church with Micah becaue he had a fever. Poor little guy. He's been sick for a while. He had a double ear infection that he had a hard time getting over. He's still not himself. Kiah also had a double ear infection. I have strep and Schy hasn't been feeling well either. I'm sick of sickness!

Schy and I haven't had a chance to celebrate our anniversary yet, but Sunday was 6 years. I can't believe how fast time goes! I made this page for schy for our anniversary:

This is exactly how I feel about us. If you look at us on the outside we may seem very different. But if you know who we really are, what's important to us, what we believe... we are the same. I love him so much! He doesn't know what an amazing father and husband he is. He keeps me happy. I love you Schy!

Scrapbook Pages

Schy was in the hospital again. He hasn't recovered as well. I just want him to feel well. I've just been enjoying my time with the kids. I have been on the job hunt. Getting my resume out there. I never realized how many dentist offices there are!
I've started digital scrapbooking. I've never been much for scrapbooking, but I love the digital. I'm learning how to use photoshop to do it. Now I have a lot to catch up. Here's some that I've done this past week or so.

Here's a clip of Kiah trying to record a song before the time runs out. I thinks it's so funny. Sorry it's kind of long and really dark. I'm probably the only one who finds it as amusing as I do, but anyway it makes me laugh.

We had a great week with Taylor here. He was such a help to us. He doesn't even know! The kids love him so much. Kiah was so bored today because she didn't know what to do with herself now that he's gone. Now we get to look forward to Schy's mom, his sister, and her little guy coming. What a blessing to see family.

We took the kids bowling for the first time. They loved it!

I got a call this evening from one of my instructors. A dentist in the area had called them because he's looking for an assistant. She wanted to let me know that she will include my name on the list. It would be part time and temporary, but that would be an awesome opportunity to get some experience. I hope something works out.

Too Fast

Well, time has gone by way too fast! With school the past ten weeks I've hardly had time to do the laundry. Yesterday was my last day of class and I did really good. Dr. Striver waited to give me my certificate last and told everyone that I consistently had the best scores on my tests. I felt kind of embarrassed standing up there like that, but I really glad at how well I've done. It was not all me though. I know that I was so blessed! I can't even express how I could feel the Lord helping me. I could do things that I knew I couldn't do on my own. I did my best and put in everything I could and the Lord made up the rest.

Last week was the craziest week ever. Schy was in the hospital for the first time in 9 months or so. I came home from class on Saturday hoping that Schy had come home and seeing the kids playing outside. It was a beautiful day! Instead my dad tells me that my mom is at the hospital with Micah. She had to take him to the doctor for his asthma and they admitted him. He was such a good boy. He did not like sleeping in that crib though. Every time he woke up at night he had to be sure that Mom was there. I'd hold him and he'd fall back asleep. He's such a sweetie. The next morning he was running around the room and was definitely ready to come home. He's doing great now. Schy has also come home and doing a lot better. This will be a crazy week though. He'll have to catch up on everything he's missed.

Schy's brother, Taylor is here now. He came to help us out while my parents are in AZ. The kids just LOVE him. He barely gets a moment to breathe. We're so grateful for his help.

Happy birthday Schy!

The big news for me this week is that I'm going to school on Saturdays. I'm attending Michiana Dental Assistant School. It's a ten week course and I've already learned a lot. It was a huge blessing that I was able to get off work for it. I almost didn't because I already have Sundays off, but I told my manager that I won't work on the Sabbath so he worked it out with our store manager. I'm so grateful! I'll be pretty busy for the next few months but it will be worth it. Schy is still doing well with his school. That keeps him very busy. We're so thankful for all my mom does to help with the kids.
New Years

It's been a snowy and cold January. The kids had fun sledding down the stairs.
