Discovery Park...what a blast!

Last week we went on a fun playgroup activity with our little group in the ward. We decided to escape the heat and head North to Cedar City. We went to discover the DISCOVERY PARK, and had a BLAST !!!! The boys had so much fun running discovering and playing that I could hardly catch a picture of them as they blew by. The playground is huge with many cute little areas that really lead to make-believe play. Parker organized the little group of boys into teams and they played "cops and robbers" forever, I did see many of the boys stop at the girls pretend diner for a gourmet pretend treat (I'm sure) There were also fun cars and jeeps to play on and an area to make music with pipes and bells.

The boys really liked the red seat swing, and thought swinging was a whole new experience in it. They wanted me to take their picture swinging, but it was really hard to catch them when they were moving so fast :) They also experienced a tire swing for the first time, Jordan wasn't sure he liked it because it "went all CRAZY spinnin all around!"

After most of the group had left, we went with the Ashcrofts to check out the man made lake across the street. It was so AWESOME that instead of just a quick look to see if we would want to come back, we spent 3 hours there! There was a great beach with beautiful sand, a pretty big lake that many people had little boats on and were fishing , and the slope into the water was great...the kids could go out pretty far and still touch. No one had swimming suits or beach toys, but we had so much fun. Parker and Jordan were so brave in the freezing cold water, I told them to stay where they could touch (I'm not sure I would've gone in to save them hehehe)After hours of fun, we rinsed off and headed home, worn out and loving the 5hour day spent at the park! We must go back soon!!!
P.S. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new van...I guess I really was a mini-van Mommy deep down inside! I really makes trips like this a breeze!
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, RYAN!!! I know it is a little late, but we had a great day celebrating our awesome Daddy. Ryan was out of town helping my sister and her family move across the country, so we didn't see him until later Sunday evening. The boys and I made Daddy a yummy German Chocolate Cake and dinner. Parker and Jordan also did a cute paper about thier daddy and how much they love him,the favorite things to do with him and what they thought of him. I love everyone of thier answers! Then we spent the evening playing games and catching up on Daddy time.

We decorated Daddy's presents, didn't the boys do a great job? Baby Girl even gave her Daddy a cute book "Daddy's Little Girl" about the special bond between Daddy and his little girl. (I can't wait to see Ryan with his baby girl...see will have him in her little hand at birth I'm sure!)

Here are a few pictures of other great Father's days from the past. What lucky boys I have, they have the best Daddy around! Love ya Ryan, thanks for being such the Super-man,Spiritual Giant,Understanding,Loving Daddy that our boys need!

Real Salt Lake City Soccer Camp

This year we were lucky enough to get to attend the REAL Salt Lake City Soccer Camp! The boys were so excited, and really did well. They had a few friends from the ward to go with and met many new friends. The coaches were awesome, coming from all over the country to put on this camp. Parker and Jordan's coaches were so good with the kids and really knew how to teach techniques while disguising them as games. One coach is a soccer coach at a college in Boston, and the other coach plays soccer in New York and played for Real's Jr. league when they went to Madrid. I really enjoyed the beautiful weather (it hadn't turned TOO hot and we started at 8:30am) and loved watching the boys enjoy themselves and learn. Parker learned about team work and was so cute, he showed the kids on his team how to huddle and they worked out great strategy's in those huddles. Jordan did really well on the games to teach control, he was meticulous in his control of the ball. The boys got Real Salt Lake t-shirts, soccer bags and a FREE ticket to a game in Salt Lake. What a great experience!

This year Parker was finally able to play baseball/t-ball. He loves sports and has lots of natural talent. Parker loved hitting the ball (which he usually did with the coach pitches and didn't have to hit off the "T") and he REALLY loved to play catcher. I think it was because as catcher he always had his hands on the ball. Parker has a great arm, and can really throw straight and fast...he loved his "homework" from coach , which was to practice throwing with Daddy at least every other day. Ryan was lucky enough to help coach, at this age they needed all the coaching help they could get. Mommy and Jordan had lots of fun watching, visiting and playing in the playground ;) Parker was sure that his team won every game, which was impossible because they don't keep score and an inning consists of everyone hitting and running the bases (there are No outs). I am so proud of Parker, I love to watch him learn and succeed and make friends. Watch the Smilebox for some of the seasons highlights
