I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Oh, wow. I can barely remember the last time I wrote on here. That was, what, three years ago?
Well, now I'm in 6th grade, and in Utah. So much has happened since then, so much that my brain is having a hard time keeping my thoughts and memories in order.
Since I wrote last, I've been to 8 more countries, got one more dog, got a turtle, and made so many new friends. It's hard to believe that 3 years ago, I was sitting in my dad's office, writing about third grade. But now I have so many stories to tell, I don't know which one to start with.
Not everything has changed, though. I still have three younger brothers. I still love animals. I still love to read. And I still love Minnesota. You know, I think I might move back there in college or something.
But I really, really want to move to London. London, England is my dream. It's so big, so busy, and love it. Of course, sometime I'll stop traveling, and settle down. Maybe.
Speaking of traveling, I had a great time in Zimbabwe. It was awesome, with its beauty and adventures. One time we had to drive through a river where the road was going to be, and another times we had to get out and basically rebuild the road.
It wasn't always easy over there. We had to be really careful about saying the president's name, and stuff. But there were so many good sides of Zimbabwe, that it was hard to notice. We got to see so many new babies. And we found out that my name means "everything I ever wanted" in Shona, the language there. In fact, I had a baby named after me. I tried to visit the Maida every day, but it was hard to get up to the hospital. There were so many other things to do - like visit the orphanage, the school, pick up trash at the school soccer field... - that I didn't really notice.
My favorite thing to do in my free time there was to run through the long grass with my brothers, in bare feet of course. We played games like we had bases, and we were spies, and sometimes we would accidentally wander miles from our house. By the time we left, we had almost every inch of wilderness surrounding Nhowe Mission memorized. We knew where our best friends houses were, and also where other villages were. I'm pretty sure we all felt like we were kings over our land or something.
We rescued a dog over there. My family named him Simba Zino, meaning "powerful fang". He was sick with Parvo when we first got him, and my mom had to nurse him back to health by herself, feeding him only chicken broth and rice until he was strong enough to eat normal dog food. He is a Boerboel, a South African Mastiff, bred to kill lions and defend farms. Simba is almost 200 pounds.
There's so much more to tell, so, so, much more, but tonight I'm already out of time. It's already 8:10, and we have 20 minutes til bed. Besides, we have Church in the morning. Even if school hadn't started yet, we would still have to go to bed in 20 minutes.
*yawn*
Good night!
